Sungrow Cumulative Shipments to the Americas Crosses 10 GW

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 4, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Sungrow, the global leading inverter solution supplier for renewables, announced recently that its cumulative shipments in the Americas hit a significant milestone of 10 GW by the end of 2020, underlining its position in the deep decarbonization of the local economy and its role as a big game-changer for renewable energy across the region at large.

Significant process made in a challenging year

With a continued upward growth trajectory in markets like the United States, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico, Sungrow has extended partnerships with a multitude of EPCs, distributors and integrators.

“We deployed 5 GW of PV inverter solutions to North America in 2020,” said Hank Wang, President of Sungrow Americas. Wang commented that the Company hit the 1 GW milestone in the LATAM hub Chile and has consolidated the pivotal role in Brazil with landmark achievements in both utility-scale market and distributed generation segments.

The celebrated projects supplied in 2020 include the 200 MW Wright Solar project and a 400 MW project in Brazil which is set to be online in the second half of 2021 with Sungrow 3.125 MW central inverter solution installed.

Notably, Sungrow is the only inverter supplier ranked “100% bankable” for two straight years by BNEF. The Company shows a robust track record of performance in projects it powers.

Giant strides taken to innovations

The achievement is testimony to the success of innovations. Sungrow has a massive R&D task force to push the boundaries of innovation and develop the most intuitive and pragmatic products of the whole industry.

With the feed-in tariffs (FiT) slashed, the dropping PPA price is poised to demand a lower system cost. Sungrow’s cutting-edge products rolled out this year include a 3.6 MW outdoor central inverter solution, well matching the local demand as it not only enables a minimized LCOE, but also can be flexibly added to solar-plus-storage plant as it is prefabricated with inputs for DC-coupled storage solutions.

The Company also undertook several unique marketing campaigns as a response to COVID-19. “There’s a massive shift to online with everything. We took this year to navigate a more diverse range of marketing channels to provide practical advice and examples that customers can benefit from,” said Hank Wang. The Company took the initiative to display latest products in a semi-truck for roadshows during the fourth quarter of 2020, attracting hundreds of customers while keeping the social distancing among the pandemic across 19 American cities.

Make 2021 a breakthrough

The global environment projection is navigating near-term uncertainty, which will require more efforts and supportive policy to the pace of the recovery worldwide. That being said, the deep decarbonization of the power generation industry is in full swing.

Sungrow continues to embrace the growth potential of the global market in support of low-carbon lifestyles and the clean energy action plan in different countries. “Success hinges on sustainability. Sungrow has enormous potential to unlock future innovations,” commented Hank Wang.

The Company stated that it is poised to meet the booming demands as it races to offer the best practices to secure the benefits for the stakeholders, backed by continued innovations and trustworthy delivery capability and a more comprehensive team spanning across the Americas, offering industry-leading service responsively. It also shows robust momentum in the path toward adding more solar-plus-storage applications.

The economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, in India, led to the reduction in economic activities, subsequently forcing businesses to scale or shut down their operations. It resulted in many families being affected due to the sharp increase in unemployment.

In November 2020, Lotto247.com conducted a survey to understand the financial impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on its Indian market. Over 1,700 adults participated in the survey.

The survey found that 77% of economically active adults in India had lost income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the findings;

  • The most affected age group were adults in their 40’s. Over 80% of adults in the 40’s lost income as a result of the pandemic.
  • Adults in their 50’s, compared to those in their 40’s, were less affected. However, 73% of them still lost income.
  • Those aged 70 and older were the least affected age group. Only 30% of them lost income due to the pandemic.

Men were impacted more than women, according to the survey results. Just under 78% of men reported having lost income, while only 67% of women lost income.

The survey also revealed adults who were divorced were greatly affected, with 87.5% of them losing income. While those in a relationship, but not married, were less affected as only 59% of them lost income

WASHINGTON, Jan. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Earlier today, the Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C) released statements applauding the passing of the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021 into law. Notably, H.R. 6395 became law on January 1, 2021 without President Trump’s vote after Congress successfully passed override measures after the President’s veto of the defense bill.

Along with matters relating to the U.S. Department of Defense funding authorizations, the NDAA includes provisions the late Representative Elijah Cummings introduced that passed overwhelmingly in the U.S. House of Representatives in January 2019. Expressly, the provisions serve to combat federal workplace discrimination and retaliation against whistleblowers.

“We are grateful our lawmakers came together in a bipartisan way to include the equal employment opportunity reforms the late Representative Elijah Cummings championed within the NDAA,” said Tanya Ward Jordan, President of the Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C). “To best defend our national security, America must protect our service members and our civil servants who keep our citizens safe.” {See Representative Cummings initial introduction of EEO reforms in H.R. 1557 https://youtu.be/IATLKiO7i5Y}

“As the C4C celebrates the bill’s passage, we also salute the invaluable leadership of the late Congressman Elijah Cummings,” said Paulette Taylor, a disabled veteran, and the C4C’s Civil Rights Chair. “Throughout his stellar career, he championed the cause of both our military and federal employees, who serve to uphold the public trust. President Ward Jordan and I are honored to have known him. Equally, we are most appreciative that he allowed the C4C to provide invaluable input to what is now known as the Elijah Cummings Federal Employee Anti-Discrimination Act. The EEO reforms, which the C4C recommended and the late Representative Cummings introduced, are a part of this historic law.”

AMHERST, Va., Jan. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Got Freedom?, a 501(c)4 nonprofit election integrity watchdog group, conducted an exclusive national briefing today at the request of state legislators from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to review the extensive evidence of irregularities and lawlessness in the 2020 presidential election. A similar briefing is being scheduled in Washington, D.C. at the request of Members of Congress.

The documentation discussed during the briefing — which includes more than 1,400 pages of material — is being made available for public consumption at https://got-freedom.org/evidence/.

Nearly 300 state lawmakers and others participated in the briefing, which also featured an address by President Trump. Also on the call were Rudy Giuliani; professor of law John Eastman; Peter Navarro, Assistant to the President for Trade and Manufacturing (appearing in his personal capacity), and John Lott, Senior Advisor, U.S. Department of Justice (also appearing in his personal capacity).

“This information should serve as an important resource for state legislators as they make calls for state legislatures to meet to investigate the election and consider decertifying their state election results,” said Phill Kline, who hosted the call on behalf of Got Freedom?. “The integrity of our elections is far too important to treat cavalierly, and elected officials deserve to have all relevant information at their disposal as they consider whether to accept the reported results of the 2020 elections, especially in states where the process was influenced by private interests.”

The evidence discussed includes unprecedented public-private partnerships that created a two-tiered election system in the states that determined the winner of the Electoral College. Funded by over $400 million from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, these public-private partnerships sought to boost turnout in Democratic strongholds while depressing turnout in conservative areas, violating constitutional guarantees of due process and equal protection.

The private monies paid the salaries of election workers and funded the purchase of election equipment, but came with strict conditions on the conduct of elections in jurisdictions that accepted the money. These private interventions were aided by the actions of public officials, who sought to undermine transparency, fought efforts to audit the results, threatened legislators with investigation and prosecution for questioning the reported results, and in some cases even physically prevented state lawmakers from entering the Capitol Building in order to prevent them from challenging election certification.

“The American people, along with their elected representatives at the state and federal level, deserve full access to the evidence we’ve uncovered,” Kline said. “We’re pleased to provide this information so that those who develop policy and make decisions will have all the relevant information available to them.”

The World’s Best Places to Retire in 2021–InternationalLiving.com

BALTIMORE, Jan. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — InternationalLiving.com, the leading authority on global retirement and relocation opportunities, has just released its 30th Annual Global Retirement Index for 2021.

Using International Living’s vast network of on-the-ground contacts and correspondents around the world, this annual Index is designed to be a useful tool for potential expats trying to find the place that’s right for them. The Index is constructed of statistics but also of real-world, practical, on-the-ground intelligence, experience, and opinion provided by International Living’s editors and correspondents based around the world.

Across ten categories, readers can quickly and constructively compare and contrast countries in terms of their cost of living, housing, healthcare, retiree benefits, and more.

“All 25 destinations are worth your attention,” says Jennifer Stevens, International Living’s Executive Editor. “But this Index is most useful when you come to it with an idea in mind about what your ideal destination might look like. What’s most important to you—the cost of living, proximity to home, having a beach or lots of cultural activities close at hand, the climate?

“Whether you’re looking for a friendly, good-value city… a tropical beach… a cool, highland retreat… an historic colonial enclave… or a quiet lakeside getaway… this Index can help point you to your best options on the planet today.

“Our choice of countries reflects a huge range of lifestyles and locations—they’re the places we think you’ll find the best combination of factors to suit your overseas retirement. We’ve got people on the ground in each of them, reporting facts and figures, and sharing their insights about the places they’re proud to call home.

“These are locations where—as the expats on the ground regularly report—it’s easy to feel healthier, happier, and less stressed. As expats Tom and Diane Brown, originally from Washington State, put it, speaking from their new home in Costa Rica’s Central Valley, “We live very comfortably on our two Social Security checks and my pension. We can easily live on $3,000 month here, including a gardener and a maid. We also put away $500 each month for travel.”

According to InternationalLiving.com’s 2021 Global Retirement Index, the world’s top 10 retirement destinations are:

#1 Costa Rica
#2 Panama
#3 Mexico
#4 Colombia
#5 Portugal
#6 Ecuador
#7 Malaysia
#8 France
#9 Malta
#10 Vietnam

Simple living, in a society where you are cared for, with a cost of living that you can easily afford—those are all reasons why we’re proud to announce Costa Rica as the leader in International Living’s Annual Global Retirement Index for 2021, and why so many expats love this heavenly slice of Central America.

Costa Rica attracts millions of visitors and foreign residents throughout the year with its tropical climate; lower cost of living; friendly locals; affordable medical care; vast real estate options; and, of course, its natural beauty.

“One of the things you hear often from expats is how warm and welcoming the ticos (Costa Ricans) are,” says Kathleen Evans, International Living’s Costa Rica correspondent. “They are wonderful people, eager to share the magic of their culture, food, and traditions with foreigners.

“You will also find engaging international communities of expats who will help you through the process of acclimation. The vast majority of new arrivals say it is very easy to make friends and fit in here.

“A couple can live comfortably, but not necessarily extravagantly, here for around $2,000 a month. This includes renting a two-bedroom home with North American amenities, air conditioning, plus groceries, entertainment, transportation, and healthcare. If your monthly budget is closer to $2,500 to $3,000, you will find a relaxed lifestyle with every comfort you require.

“Like everywhere in the world, the pandemic has dealt the Costa Rican economy a harsh blow and put strains on the healthcare system. Even so, the country remains a good long-term bet as we move towards a post-COVID world, given its natural beauty, resilient population, and progressive vision.”

International Living’s 30th Annual Global Retirement Index is the most comprehensive and in-depth survey of its kind. Their editors and correspondents focus on actually living overseas, not on finding this month’s fashionable vacation spot. They’re reporting hard facts and practical details such as rental costs, medical provision, and economic stability, as well as the more enjoyable things like climate and the cost of a nice meal out.

“In an era when most news outlets have slashed their budgets and cut their overseas bureaus…and at a time when it’s harder than ever to ferret out the truth…we put our 2021 Global Retirement Index together the old-fashioned way,” says Stevens.

“That is to say: We put boots on the ground…just as we have each of the last 30 years we’ve published this country comparison.”

International Living’s complete 2021 Annual Global Retirement Index, including more information on the winner and the other nine countries that made it in to the top 10—as well as the individual rankings in all 10 categories for all 25 countries included—can be found at: The World’s Best Places to Retire in 2021.
