NIH Study Suggests Opioid Use Linked to Pregnancy Loss, Lower Chance of Conception

BETHESDA, Md., Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Opioid use among women trying to conceive may be associated with a lower chance of pregnancy, suggests a National Institutes of Health study. Moreover, opioid use in early pregnancy may be associated with a greater chance of pregnancy loss. The study appears in Epidemiology.

«Our findings indicate that women who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy should, along with their physicians, consider the potential effects opioids may have on their ability to conceive or sustain a pregnancy,» said Kerry Flannagan, Ph.D., the primary author of the study and a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Intramural Population Health Research at NIH’s Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.

According to the authors, much of the research on prescription opioid use has focused on the effects of drug dependency. Little information exists on non-habitual, periodic opioid use around the time of conception and early in pregnancy.

The researchers analyzed data from the Effects of Aspirin in Gestation and Reproduction (EAGeR) trial, which investigated low-dose aspirin as a treatment to prevent pregnancy loss. Participants were women from 18 to 40 years old with a history of one or two pregnancy losses. Women were followed for six monthly cycles if they did not get pregnant and throughout pregnancy if they did. The women provided urine samples, which were analyzed for various prescription opioids.

Of the 1,228 women in the study, 226 (18%) had used opioids while trying to conceive and 33 (5%) of 685 women who became pregnant had used opioids in early pregnancy. None tested positive for methadone or buprenorphine, typically used to treat opioid dependence.

Opioid use before conception was associated with a 29% lower chance of achieving pregnancy during a given monthly cycle, compared to women who had not used opioids. Among the women who became pregnant, those who used opioids around the time of conception were 1.5 times as likely to have a miscarriage as women who had not. Women who used opioids in the first four weeks of pregnancy were more than twice as likely to have a miscarriage. Women who used opioids in weeks four through eight of pregnancy were 2.5 times as likely to have a miscarriage.

The authors called for additional research on how opioid use affects fertility and early pregnancy. They added that until more is known, patients and physicians should evaluate the potential risks and benefits of opioids for pain management among women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, including those undergoing assisted reproduction procedures that may involve opioid treatment to manage pain.

TORRANCE, California, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The 2021 Acura TLX is set to launch nationwide September 28th as the quickest, best-handling and most well-appointed sedan in the brand’s 35-year history. Built upon a model-exclusive body structure and chassis architecture, the 2021 TLX 2.0T will carry a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $37,5001, an increase of $1,300 over the outgoing 3.5-liter V6-powered TLX. Acura’s torque vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system is available on all trims for an additional $2,000. The TLX Type S, with Acura’s new 3.0-liter V6 Turbo and standard Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, arrives next spring well-equipped in the low to mid $50,000s.

Highly Anticipated 2021 Acura TLX Set To Arrive at Dealerships Late September; Packing More Power and Features for $37,500

Complementing its stunning new design and athletic stance, the TLX’s new 2.0-liter DOHC VTEC® Turbo delivers more peak torque (+13 lb.-ft.) than the outgoing 3.5-liter V6, with a dramatic increase at the low end of the rev range (+48 lb.-ft. @ 1,500 rpm). Compared to the outgoing entry 2.4L model, the new TLX offers substantially more performance (+66 horsepower, +98 lb.-ft. peak torque) and major increases to technologies and premium amenities – establishing a new and more upmarket entry point for the Acura sedan.

Additional performance improvements for the 2021 TLX include a quick-shifting 10-speed transmission, sport-tuned chassis with double wishbone front suspension, NSX-derived electro-servo brake-by-wire technology, and available adaptive dampers.

Best-in-class technologies new to TLX include a new implementation of Acura’s True Touchpad Interface™ with a 10.2 inch HD center display, an available 17-speaker ELS STUDIO 3D® premium audio system, and color and intensity adjustable LED interior ambient lighting with up to 27 IconicDrive™ themes. The new TLX expands on its standard AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies with the addition of Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) and Traffic Sign Recognition, as well as an industry first next-generation passenger front airbag designed to mitigate potential injury in more steeply angled frontal collisions.

Texas Homebuyers: Finding the Right Property is the Most Difficult Part of the Homebuying Process

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Texas homebuyers say that finding the right property is the most difficult part of the homebuying process, according to the 2020 Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report released by Texas Realtors. The annual report provides in-depth insights into the demographics, motivations and opinions of Texas homebuyers and sellers who had a real estate transaction between July 2018

The annual report provides in-depth insights into the demographics, motivations and opinions of Texas homebuyers and sellers who had a real estate transaction between July 2018 and June 2019. The report also outlines information related to Texas real estate consumers’ income, ethnicity, age and perceptions of the homebuying and selling process.

Texas Association of Realtors logo.

«This report provides critical insight for Texas Realtors in assessing the ever-changing needs and expectations of the consumers we serve,» said Cindi Bulla, 2020 chairman of Texas Realtors. «For example, despite access to a myriad of technology resources to search for homes, buyers continue to place a high value on local Realtor market knowledge when it comes to selecting the right home, negotiating the right price and guidance through the buying process.»

Buyers who purchased previously owned homes mentioned better prices, value and charm as the top motivating factors. Buyers of newly built homes cited avoiding renovations or plumbing and electrical problems as top reasons they purchased a new home.

The majority of Texas homebuyers (67%) were married couples, followed by single females (17%), single males (10%) and unmarried couples (5%). The median age of Texas homebuyers was 52, five years more than last year.

Bulla continued, «While Texas was slightly better than the national average of homebuyer diversity, we still have work to do. Across the state, we are still seeing white buyers make up the largest share of homebuyers, while those identifying as Hispanic or Black make up 14% and 5%, respectively. We as Texas Realtors must be laser-focused on strategies to ensure that homeownership is attainable and affordable for our entire population.»

In Texas, 78% of all buyers identified as white/Caucasian, 4% Asian/Pacific Islander, 5% Black/African-American and 14% Hispanic/Latino.

For Texans who sold their homes, the most popular reason for putting a home on the market was to move closer to friends or family, followed by job relocations and proximity to their work. Sellers spent a median of 12 years in their homes. The median sales price was $64,050 more than what sellers paid for their homes, and the median length the home spent on the market was four weeks.

About the Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report
Data from the 2020 edition of the Texas Homebuyers and Sellers Report is derived from the 2019 Texas Profile of Homebuyers and Sellers by NAR, which analyzes survey data among Texans who bought or sold a home between July 2018 and June 2019. ATV & UTV Market Size is Projected To Reach USD 14,109.2 Million By 2025 – Valuates Report

BANGALORE, India, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Factors such as growing trends in adventure sports & leisure activities, the use of ATV and UTV in military operations, and government rules to allow driving ATVs and UTVs on-road is expected to increase the growth of the ATV and UTV markets size.

<img id="prnejpg4d1cleft" title="Valuates_Reports_Logo" border="0" alt="Valuates_Reports_Logo" align="middle"…

Valuates_Reports_Logo

The global ATV & UTV market size was USD 7,628.0 Million in 2017 and is projected to reach USD 14,109.2 Million by 2025, registering a CAGR of 7.8% from 2018 to 2025.

This study includes an analytical representation of the ATV and UTV market analysis along with the current trends and future estimates to depict the imminent pockets of investment.

Inquire For Sample: https://reports.valuates.com/request/sample/ALLI-Auto-2F327/ATV_and_UTV

TRENDS INFLUENCING THE ATV AND UTV MARKET SIZE

Tourism councils have begun to incorporate ATV and UTV based activities by building tracks to attract and keep visitors in their country for a longer period of time. Several countries organize annual championships, and this is gaining considerable popularity as anyone able to drive UTV can take part in the race. This rise in adventure sports trends entices tourists, thereby increasing the ATV and UTV market size over the forecast period.

The increasing preference of UTV and ATV by military forces around the world is expected to increase the ATV and UTV market size. The military uses more ATVs to diversify their applications, including long-distance transport of armed forces and munitions. The need for vehicles to run in rough terrain is providing an impetus for the growth of ATV and UTV market.  For instance, the United States Army has shown interest in acquiring ATVs with features such as rapid transportation capabilities and the ability to carry nine fully armed soldiers, agility, and a minimum of 55 mph.

ATVs and UTVs are very useful in activities such as hunting, nature exploration, hiking, and other outdoor exploration, but these vehicles are often very risky and dangerous. The number of ATVs and UTVs available on the market is growing. This, in turn, raises the number of ATV and UTV-related incidents increasing. Production of ATVs and UTVs with additional safety measures to avoid injuries and death will give the key players operating on the ATV and UTV market the opportunity to dominate the space.

Nevertheless, the ban on ATV & UTV driving in wildlife areas due to terrain damage and high maintenance costs of ATVs and UTVs can impede market growth.

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 20, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — MasterClass, the streaming platform that makes it possible for anyone to learn from the best, today announced that ukulele virtuoso and composer Jake Shimabukuro will teach a class on how to play the ukulele. Through a series of easy-to-follow lessons, MasterClass members will learn the basics of playing the ukulele, from the proper way to hold the instrument and strumming techniques to more advanced skills like mastering vibrato and achieving harmonics. Now available at MasterClass.com, members can subscribe for unlimited access to all new and existing 85+ classes through the All-Access Pass. MasterClass categories include business, culinary arts, film & television, music & entertainment, photography, sports and more.

«Jake is a musical genius,» said David Rogier, co-founder and CEO of MasterClass. «Watching his dynamic finger work and hearing him play his iconic covers will leave MasterClass members feeling inspired and confident to learn the ukulele and make their own music.»

Throughout his career, Jake Shimabukuro has challenged notions of what was possible with a ukulele through his fast and complex finger work, which has made him an internationally recognized ukulele virtuoso and composer. His professional career began when a video of him playing a rendition of George Harrison’s «While My Guitar Gently Weeps» was posted on YouTube without his knowledge, immediately going viral. He was soon dubbed the «Jimi Hendrix of the Ukulele,» and his career skyrocketed, leading him to release multiple albums and tour all over the world. Shimabukuro’s music combines elements of various genres including jazz, blues, rock, blue grass, classical, folk, funk, Hawaiian and flamenco. A pioneer for the «true underdog of instruments,» Shimabukuro has helped to propel the ukulele’s presence in the musical world.

«Music has the power to truly shape who we are,» said Jake Shimabukuro. «I hope that through my MasterClass people will discover that the ukulele is not just a tool to make music, but also something that can be life changing.»

Shimabukuro’s MasterClass will teach members the fundamentals of how to play the ukulele with tips, insights and stories from years spent developing his skills. With an inclusive and engaging teaching method, Shimabukuro breaks down ukulele basics for beginners step-by-step, showing members how to hold a ukulele, navigate the fretboard, strum effectively, achieve desired notes and develop unique sounds. He showcases his lessons in action through dynamic performances of his most iconic covers, including a breakdown of «Hallelujah» and a demonstration of how he arranges his rendition of «Bohemian Rhapsody.» More experienced members will learn advanced skills, from advanced chord groupings and techniques to achieving vibrato and harmonics. Shimabukuro will also take members on a song creation journey from start to finish, sharing his process, tricks and inspiration to create an original composition.

Jake Shimabukuro’s class joins the 85+ classes taught by world-renowned instructors on culinary arts, photography, writing, performance, and much more.

Dating App Chispa and Voto Latino Partner To Ignite And Unite Latinxs And Promote Voter Registration
