DALLAS, Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Just six months since launching a transformation agenda under new CEO Dave Abel, Aventiv Technologies and its corrections-services subsidiary, Securus Technologies, today reported significant progress in accelerating an expansive, holistic reform of corporate policies and practices.

Education, reentry and recidivism represent one of the key pillars in the transformation effort.  An additional 13,456 incarcerated students gained access to post-secondary educational programming through Securus’ digital education platform since March alone, a critical connection to help improve recidivism rates.

In addition to enrolling thousands for free educational programming, Aventiv deepened its commitment to supporting re-entry services and creating opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. For example, so far in 2020, the company has:

  • Provided initial seed funding to help launch Freedom Rides, a non-profit that assists formerly incarcerated individuals in purchasing vehicles so they can safely travel to jobs or classes.
  • Built upon the existing corporate job application that «bans the box» and broadened hiring practices by defining allowable types of felony convictions and specified roles to which limits apply.
  • Signed the Society for Human Resource Management’s Getting Talent Back to Work Pledge and 10% of new hires since January have prior records.

In addition to efforts centered around education, the organization also furthered its responsibility to execute against commitments made in January, which include:

  • Accessibility and affordability:
    • Securus renegotiated contracts with 56 correctional agencies, reducing call rates that had previously exceeded national averages.
    • Securus began offering commission-free and agency-paid options for telephone calls to both existing and new institutional customers.
  • Technology and Innovation:
    • Aventiv has invested more than $2.3 million in new infrastructure and the development of new technology including further strengthening cyber security measures.
  • Transparency
    • The company initiated a process to develop a terms-of-use policy to memorialize comprehensive data privacy standards for its products. That policy will now be released by the end of 2020 due to COVID-19.
    • Aventiv commissioned a cost analysis by an independent third-party, which is on-track to be released by the end of 2020.
  • Listening and responsiveness:
    • Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Aventiv leadership continued an ongoing series of listening sessions with advocates for the incarcerated, individuals impacted by incarceration, and correctional and communications experts. Stay-at-home orders severely limited in person access, and CEO Dave Abel continued holding virtual sessions continued throughout the second quarter.

«In January we said we were going to change the way this company operates, and make our services more affordable and accessible,» said Dave Abel, President and CEO of Aventiv Technologies. «Since then we’ve made real progress toward that goal while also modifying our 2020 blueprint to heavily focus on providing supplementary support for our customers since the entire nation was jolted by the impact of COVID-19. The need for human connection – particularly during a pandemic – drove a shift in priority and we’re proud of the efforts we have made to date.  We know there’s more work to be done, and we’ll continue to work closely with our agency partners to drive positive change in the correctional technology industry.»

Against the backdrop of the devastating and wide-spread impact of COVID-19, organizations nationwide rethought operations, accessibility and introduce thoughtful approaches to supporting customer needs; especially those serving vulnerable communities such as the incarcerated.  Since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak, Aventiv has worked with its partners across the United States to provide millions of credits for free e-messages as well as free and reduced rates for video chats and phone calls. To date the company has provided:

  • Accommodations for 397 agencies at 737 distinct facilities.
  • 22.4 million free call credits for incarcerated individuals and their families, resulting in 170.8 million free minutes of phone connections
  • 4.9 million free video connections to friends and families of incarcerated individuals
  • 10.6 million free JPay Stamps for electronic messaging

Aventiv Technologies launched in October 2019 as part of a corporate reorganization reflective of the company’s progression with distinct business lines for government payments (AllPaid) and corrections services (Securus Technologies and JPay). Since being acquired by Platinum Equity the company has undergone substantial changes with a major emphasis on eliminating certain past practices, enhancing and expanding others, and transforming from a traditional corrections telecommunications service provider into a broad technology innovator.

STUART, Fla., Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — KW Miller, the high profile conservative congressional candidate running for office in Florida’s 18th Congressional District Conducted a Massive «Sting Operation» on Leftist Run Media Companies Protecting Pedophiles.

Mr. Miller began experiencing heavy censorship of his congressional campaign accounts when he began exposing the Entertainment and Media Industry’s deep ties to pedophilia on his social platforms.

In June, Mr. Miller’s media team decided to launch a «Sting Operation» on several of these media companies including Twitter, Facebook, Google which had been censoring Mr. Miller’s Congressional Campaign social media accounts.  The goal of the «Sting Operation» was to expose and break the censoring of his Campaign’s accounts and to expose Pedophilia and Child Sex Trafficking within the Media and Entertainment Industry.

As part of the «Sting Operation» Mr. Miller utilized his Congressional Campaign’s Twitter account to openly attacked the rampant Pedophilia in the Media and Entertainment industry by calling out numerous suspected offenders within the industry.

Mr. Miller’s account went viral, racking up over one hundred (100) million views/hits on his Congressional Twitter page within a three (3) week time period. Twitter fought back, locked the number of followers of Mr. Miller’s account at 36,000 and «openly shadow banned».

Mr. Miller’s account was being openly suppressed by Twitter the further his media team dug into the Media and Entertainment industry ties to child sex trafficking and rampant pedophilia. Many of the suspected offenders named included prominent members of Democratic Party led support to the rumors that Twitter is «Leftist Run».

The deeper Mr. Miller’s media team dug, the more these «leftist run» media companies «openly covered up» for the Pedophilia ravaged Entertainment Industry, Democratic Politicians and other high-profile individuals allegedly involved in the «Cabal».

Mr. Miller’s media team struck a nerve, a very deep nerve that goes all the way to the top leadership of the «leftist run» media companies, deep into the Democratic Party and to their dark money donors.

Mr. Miller and his media team plan to continue the investigation tying in information made public by Ghislaine Maxwell and the Jeffery Epstein records uncovered by Federal Investigators.

There are thousands of Child Sex Trafficking rings in the U.S. and Internationally.  KW Miller is committed to eradicating Child Sex Trafficking in the United States and working with other global authorities to stop these despicable and depraved acts.

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Across Cargill’s locations in 70 countries, the company and its employees are committed to positively impacting the communities where they live and work. This year, with a pandemic and natural disasters globally, Cargill intensified its focus on boosting economies, improving livelihoods and making a difference to individuals, families, farmers and small businesses around the world.

In the fiscal year 2020, Cargill provided $115 million in total charitable contributions, hosted trainings for 860,000 farmers in sustainable agricultural and business practices to improve their earnings potential and provided more than 39 million meals to global and local food bank partners.

«As the world faces extraordinary challenges – from climate change to food insecurity – delivering on Cargill’s purpose to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way is more critical than ever before,» said Michelle Grogg, vice president of corporate responsibility at Cargill. «We collaborate with strategic partners across the globe to bring this purpose to life by empowering farmers, protecting the planet and nourishing people and communities.»

Empowering farming communities and energizing the next generation of food and ag leaders

  • The National FFA Organization and Cargill continued their 60-year commitment to inspire and educate future leaders of the food and agriculture industry. Over the last year, the partnership reached 29,500 students and 500 teachers.
  • In 2019, Cargill and CARE announced a new phase of collaboration aligned to CARE’s She Feeds the World initiative. This phase aims to improve education, nutrition, water access, sanitation and economic support for 2 million people across Central America, Africa and Asia. The program strengthens women’s skills and confidence in sustainable agriculture, financial inclusion, market engagement, gender equality and food and nutrition – while also engaging men to support greater equality. In the first six months of the three-year program, 502 small producers and microentrepreneurs across Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua saw a gross income improvement of $540,212.
  • Cargill and Heifer International expanded Hatching Hope into Mexico, helping women farmers improve their livelihoods via poultry farming. The program connects Mexican women smallholder farmers with private sector buyers, creating market access and income opportunities. Hatching Hope has reached 206 Mexican smallholder female farmers and their families. This builds off the original Hatching Hope program in India, which has improved earnings for 24,000 smallholder female farmers since June 2019.
  • In Vietnam, Cargill has built a total of 96 schools across the country, 9 of those during the company’s past fiscal year. These schools positively impact and bring education opportunities to 14,000 students annually.

Nourishing communities

  • In partnership with the Global FoodBanking Network, Cargill provided 14,640,750 meals across 16 countries.
  • Feeding America and Cargill supported the creation of a new USDA clean room at the Houston Food Bank that, once in place, will deliver 3 million more pounds of protein annually to families in need. Cargill’s other contributions to Feeding America helped provide more than 1 million meals across the U.S.
  • In Canada, Cargill worked with Food Banks Canada to provide 554,772 meals.
  • In Central America, Cargill worked with World Central Kitchen to train school cooks in 40 schools across Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and Costa Rica on how to improve the safety, sanitization, and nutritional value of the food they prepare for more than 15,000 students. This initiative also significantly reduced food waste.
  • The Cargill Foundation, contributed more than $10 million to over 50 local nonprofits and schools in its headquarters state, Minnesota, to provide support for low-income children of color. Targeted investments in childhood nutrition, STEM education and college and career readiness brought to life the company’s goal to advance racial equity.
  • Cargill and Save the Children partnered in Thailand to promote positive nutritional practices and physical activity among children, adolescents and communities through school-based programs. The program is running across 50 schools and impacted 3,5000 children. Cargill and Save the Children also launched programs in Indonesia, Cote d’Ivoire and the Philippines.

«Thanks to Cargill’s support of The Global FoodBanking Network, food banks in 44 countries served 1.4 billion meals to families facing hunger. Unfortunately, the number of those suffering from food insecurity are steadily on the rise,» said Lisa Moon, President & CEO, The Global FoodBanking Network. «Due to the devastating impacts of COVID-19, demand for food relief has skyrocketed in the countries we serve. Our partnership with Cargill is now more important than ever, since early March this collaboration has enabled food banks in our network to reach to more than 21 million people facing hunger.»

Supporting those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

In addition to continuing its long term strategic corporate responsibility work, Cargill has worked with nonprofit and nongovernmental organization partners worldwide to address food security, health and safety needs, agriculture and industry challenges and employee support due to the spread of COVID-19.

  • To address industry challenges and support customers and their employees, Cargill partnered with the National Cattlemen’s Foundation and the Canadian Cattleman’s Foundation, the American Farmland Trust’s Farmer Relief Fund, the National Restaurant Association Foundation Employee Relief Fund and the China Animal Health and Food Safety Alliance.
  • Cargill opened the kitchen at its corporate office center in Wayzata, Minn. to cook meals for the nonprofit partnership, Minnesota Central Kitchen. The additional kitchen space provided employment for laid-off food service workers and 5,000 meals each week for Minnesotans.
  • Along with monetary contributions, Cargill has donated nearly 3 million pounds of products to food shelves and hunger relief efforts, including 239 tons of chicken, sausage, and eggs to local food banks across Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Colombia; 1,000 metric tons of animal feed in Mexico to research centers, universities, farmers and Hatching Hope participants; 56 tons of oils, mayonnaises and sauces in Brazil; 300,000 packages of eggs in the Philippines; 60,000 liters of disinfecting alcohol to the health sector in the Netherlands; 58,000 liters of oil in France; and 500,000 pounds of beef and turkey to Feeding America Food Banks in Virginia, Nebraska and Texas.
  • Additionally, the company pledged 16 million meals, impacting over 150,000 families across 16 cities in India.

Protecting the land and regenerating our soils

  • Through its BeefUp Sustainability initiative, Cargill teamed up with Burger King restaurants, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Northern Great Plains ranchers to launch a three-year grasslands restoration program. Through reseeding, the program is converting nearly 8,000 acres of marginal cropland across Montana and South Dakota to ecologically diverse grasslands. The program is projected to save the carbon equivalent of driving nearly 70 million miles in an average passenger vehicle.
  • As part of Cargill’s collaboration with the Soil Health Institute to assess the economic benefits of soil health practices, over 80 farmers across eight U.S. states were interviewed on their adoption of these practices. The majority of the farmers cited increased yield, reduced fertilizer use, increased crop resiliency, better field access and reduced runoff as key benefits to their farming businesses.
  • In Mexico, Cargill has been working with Bimbo and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center to help corn farmers adopt sustainable agriculture practices, saving over 1 billion liters of water since 2018. And in Iowa, Cargill partnered with the Iowa Soybean Association and Quantified Ventures to create the Soil and Water Outcomes Fund, a pay-for-performance model that supports farmers, communities and the environment. In the first year, we enrolled 9,400 acres and aim to scale the program up to 100,000 acres next year.

«At Cargill, our commitment to the communities where our employees live and work has been a core value of our company for over 150 years. Through these partnerships and programs, we are able to put our values into practice – to reach higher, do the right thing and put people first,» said Grogg.

Seelos Therapeutics Receives FDA May Proceed Notice to Initiate a Phase IIb/III Trial of SLS-005 in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Seelos Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEEL), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapies for central nervous system disorders and rare diseases, today announced that, on August 7, 2020, it was notified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that Seelos may proceed with initiating a Phase IIb/III trial studying SLS-005 (trehalose) for the treatment of Amyotrophic lateral…

NEW YORK, Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Seelos Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEEL), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapies for central nervous system disorders and rare diseases, today announced that, on August 7, 2020, it was notified by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that Seelos may proceed with initiating a Phase IIb/III trial studying SLS-005 (trehalose) for the treatment of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Mutations in the C9orf72, SOD1, FUS, and TARDBP genes can cause familial ALS and contribute to the development of sporadic ALS. These mutations contribute to the death of motor neurons and ALS affected motor neurons develop a buildup of protein aggregates such as TDP-43 and SOD1. In in-vivo studies of ALS, trehalose has been shown to increase clearance of TDP-43, decrease SOD1 and SQSM1/p62 aggregates and monomers, delay the progression of the disease, preserve ventral horn motor neurons and increase muscle fiber size.

«ALS is a debilitating disease which currently lacks a cure and there is significant evidence suggestive of trehalose having the potential to alter or slow the progression of ALS,» said Raj Mehra Ph.D., Chairman and CEO of Seelos. «Receiving the FDA notice that we may begin a registrational Phase IIb/III study is a transformative event for Seelos and our hope is that SLS-005 can offer a potential option for patients. The FDA signoff to begin this pivotal study allows Seelos to focus on ALS as the lead indication for SLS-005. We remain committed to our work in additional indications as well.»

«Several preclinical studies have demonstrated the potential of trehalose as a treatment for ALS, demonstrating preservation of motor neurons, motor function and prolonged survival. We are excited to start our clinical program for this devastating disease,» said Warren W. Wasiewski, M.D., F.A.A.P., Chief Medical Officer of Seelos.

Seelos’ Phase IIb/III trial plans to enroll 160 patients with either familial or sporadic ALS in a double-blind placebo-controlled trial. Patients will be randomized 3:1 (drug:placebo) and studied with a primary endpoint measuring change from baseline on Revised Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale (ALSFRS-R) score at 24 weeks. Secondary endpoints will also be measured at 24 weeks, including change from baseline in slow vital capacity, muscle strength, quality of life measurements as well as additional signs of disease progression.

About Trehalose

Trehalose is a low molecular weight disaccharide (0.342 kDa) that crosses the blood brain barrier, stabilizes proteins and importantly, activates autophagy, which is the process that clears material from cells. In animal models of several diseases associated with abnormal cellular protein aggregation or storage of pathologic material, it has been shown to reduce aggregation of misfolded proteins and reduce accumulation of pathologic material. Trehalose activates autophagy through the activation of Transcription Factor EB (TFEB), a key factor in lysosomal and autophagy gene expression. Activation of TFEB is an emerging therapeutic target for a number of diseases with pathologic accumulation of storage material.

About Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a group of rare neurological diseases that mainly involve the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. In ALS, both the upper motor neurons and the lower motor neurons degenerate or die and stop sending messages to the muscles. Unable to function, the muscles gradually weaken, start to twitch (called fasciculations), and waste away (atrophy). Eventually, the brain loses its ability to initiate and control voluntary movements. The disease is progressive, meaning the symptoms get worse over time. The majority of ALS cases (90 percent or more) are considered sporadic. This means the disease seems to occur at random with no clearly associated risk factors and no family history of the disease. Although family members of people with sporadic ALS are at an increased risk for the disease, the overall risk is very low and most will not develop ALS.

Most people with ALS die from respiratory failure, usually within 3 to 5 years from when the symptoms first appear. However, about 10 percent of people with ALS survive for 10 or more years. Currently, there is no cure for ALS and no effective treatment to halt, or reverse, the progression of the disease

Drivers, restraints, and opportunities

Increase in demand for hybrid & electric vehicles and 48V battery system drives the growth of the global automotive 48V system market. However, surge in sale of electric vehicle equipped with fully-powered battery and total cost of vehicle hinder the market growth. On the other hand, demand for advanced safety and comforts features and need to lower CO2 emissions present new opportunities in the coming years.

COVID-19 Scenario:

  • Automotive manufacturers have halted production activities due to lockdown imposed by the government amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, R&D activities have been stopped. There have been disruptions in supply chain.
  • As lockdown restrictions have been eased off and manufacturing activities restarted, the unavailability of skilled workers has hampered the production.

The belt driven segment to maintain its lead position during the forecast period

Based on architecture, the belt driven segment accounted for the highest share in 2019, holding more than two-fifths of the global automotive 48V system market, and is expected to maintain its lead position during the forecast period. This is due to a relatively low integration cost, reduced CO2 emissions, and dynamic performance offered by this architecture. However, the transmission output shaft segment is estimated to witness the highest CAGR of 30.5% from 2020 to 2027, owing to high efficiency, electric driving (creep), and four/all-wheel drive mode provided by this type of architecture.

The mid segment to continue its dominance during the forecast period

Based on vehicle class, the mid segment held nearly two-fifths of the global automotive 48V system market in 2019, and is expected to continue its dominance during the forecast period. This is attributed to reduced sales of mid-sized passenger-vehicles and increase in fleet CO2 targets. However, the entry segment would witness the fastest CAGR of 27.7% from 2020 to 2027. This is due to incorporation of innovative features and smart options such as 48v systems on cost-effective models, including entry class vehicles.

Asia-Pacific to maintain its highest contribution by 2027, North America to grow steadily

Based on region, Asia-Pacific accounted for the highest share of more than two-fifths of the global automotive 48V system market in 2019, and is estimated to maintain its highest contribution by 2027. This is due to development of new products to meet changing consumer demands, rapid industrialization, and initiatives to switch the consumer inclination from petrol to electric or hybrid cars. However, Europe is expected to portray the largest CAGR of 27.4% from 2020 to 2027, owing to increase in adoption of fuel efficient and eco-friendly vehicles in the region along with technological advancements. Contrarily, North America would witness a CAGR of 25.5% during the forecast period.

Global Vertical Farming Market Overview

The rise in the awareness about sustainable farming due to an increase in urbanization and less availability of fertile land is one of the prominent driving factors for the market growth. The increasing preference for locally grown food with higher nutrients in the urban areas supplements the also fueling the growth of the market. With the growing advancements in technology, factors such as automation and the implementation of artificial intelligence in various industry sectors are leading to an increased rate of urbanization. Labor cost is one of the highest operational costs for a vertical farm contributing around 25% of the total cost. By reducing labor costs, companies can reduce product costs and increase margins. Therefore, by integrating robots and automation in indoor agriculture practices is likely to propel the growth of the market. The concept of vertical farming has been developed based on its potential to provide large populations concentrated in urban areas with locally grown food – and to meet the demands of a growing population worldwide. Due to the challenges and costs of transporting fresh crops to larger cities, urban farmers have realized the potential in utilizing existing square meters in tall city buildings and producing crops locally.  The degree of urbanization is above 50% as of 2018, indicating the extent of urbanization that is occurring in regions worldwide. With this increasing urbanization in both developed as well as developing regions, the horizontal land area that can be used for applications such as farming is drastically reducing. The approach that can be employed to battle this limitation is vertical farming. Thus, it can be suggested that increasing urbanization is aiding the further progression and development of vertical farming. Moreover, other factors such as growing demand for high-quality food without any pesticides or herbicides, and independent farming technique with very less impact of climatic conditions and the possibility of growing vegetables and fruits in a limited space have been driving the market for the global vertical farming market

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company (US), a non-profit 501c3 arts-based social justice organization, is hosting its first multi-week Virtually UnUSual Create-A-Thon fundraiser online starting August 10th to inspire creating and sharing at home, while raising funds to maintain and expand its critical theatre-arts programming for underserved youth and families.  The mission of The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company is to mentor, educate, and enrich underserved youth through the creation of collaborative, original theatre. Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, US has prioritized reaching and serving youth and families in Los Angeles by quickly pivoting to offer programming virtually to help mitigate the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on under-resourced communities.  Outcomes for participants are life-changing, including academic and emotional growth and increased social skills – all through the theatre stage.  The Create-A-Thon will raise vital funds to continue offering and expand US’s impactful, award-winning programs at no cost to partnering schools or participants, helping to fill a critical gap in access to arts-education at high-needs, arts-poor public schools and juvenile detention centers.

How can you participate? CREATE, SHARE & FUNDRAISE! In the name of the arts, having fun and creating at-home during this difficult time, the Create-A-Thon invites individuals, companies, and friends to set a CREATIVE GOAL with a FUNDRAISING GOAL.  For 7 weeks, participants will CREATE something original, SHARE it with family and friends personally and online using the hashtag #UnusualCreateAThon, and FUNDRAISE along the way.  «Create-a-Raisers» can either WRITE or PERFORM anything they desire – whether it’s a play, script, poem, song, dance, or letter to a friend or loved one. Final creations will be accessible online at theunusualsuspects.org. The Unusual Suspects aims to raise $275,000 through the Create-A-Thon for its impactful work!

WHEN & WHERE:

Why now? In the current climate, low-income communities are disproportionately suffering, where many are isolated, and yet for this population, arts access is critical as it is especially healing during these unprecedented times.  Created in response to the 1992 L.A. Uprising, The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company was founded as a way to provide a platform for self-expression and healing through the arts.  From page to stage, participants learn to write and perform an original play as an ensemble, and in the midst of a worldwide pandemic, The Unusual Suspects stands committed to provide a voice for the voiceless, and a safe place for creative expression.  The Unusual Suspects works with communities, schools, and detention centers in neighborhoods with the most incidents of violence and crime, poverty, incarceration, and dropout rates.

New Media Platform Aims to Improve How Candidates Target Independent and Swing Voters in the COVID and Misinformation Age

LEWES, Del., Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — A new media platform is being introduced in the U.S. to help candidates of all political stripes, at all political levels, win over more undecideds, independents, and swing voters.

LEWES, Del., Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — A new media platform is being introduced in the U.S. to help candidates of all political stripes, at all political levels, win over more undecideds, independents, and swing voters.

VoterFeed.com is a social media aggregator where each candidate has a dedicated campaign page pre-loaded with their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube and Linkedin accounts, all organized into one easy-to-follow feed for voters.

Candidates can also further customize their VoterFeed™, including their photo, biography, and top 5 priorities, as well as provide direct links back to their campaign platform and donation page.

«COVID-19 has created an urgent need to help provide candidates from all parties with better ways to engage voters online, especially since the Coronavirus has eliminated typical door-to-door and public rally campaigning» says President and founder Marc Appleby.

«Our first-of-its-kind platform will officially launch to the public later this Summer, but we’re already following almost 5,000 candidates in federal, state, and local races across the U.S. Today, we want to invite all candidates running in 2020 to get early access by activating their campaign now at VoterFeed.com.»

Appleby says that VoterFeed™ was created to provide an easier way for voters to find, follow and compare candidates in any election, while providing candidates with the best way to campaign online, find new voters and raise more money.

A Pew Research survey dated February 2020 says that about two-thirds of Americans (66%) feel worn out by the amount of news being generated each day, making it confusing and difficult for many voters to understand candidates’ true positions on issues.

Candidates too can often feel misrepresented, sometimes due to media bias or political partisanship, other times their words taken out of context, but either way these civil divisions have been shown to be easily exploited by foreign governments like Russia and China.

VoterFeed™ on the other hand aims to provide clarity about candidates on what their top priorities will be if elected. Billing itself as ‘Your Election Home’, it is designed as a one-stop shop for voters to compare candidates fast, focusing especially on those harder-to-follow state and local races.

With so many divisive public commentaries on social media, Appleby says that» I believe that the political conversation for voters and candidates can instead be a productive one, where they can connect effectively with each other, and have a positive impact on campaigns and their message.»

To meet that challenge, VoterFeed™ offers what they’re calling Voter-Feedback™, a proprietary and private communication link between candidates and voters, away from the often noisy and negative media climate that can frustrate people on all sides of the aisle.

Another Pew Research survey from February this year also found that most Americans (72%) say it is likely that Russia or other foreign governments will attempt to influence the November 2020 election.

To help counter concerns, VoterFeed’s secure channel only allows the candidates themselves to speak directly to voters, with no third-party ads. This bypasses any risk of foreign meddling or corporate influence when a voter is trying to compare candidates on the issues that matter to them.

«In addition to their integrated social media feeds, candidates can now upload video, audio, and pictures from the campaign trail to showcase their personality and platform, and share it with voters through their own dedicated voter-focused channel,» explains Appleby.

«Each candidate’s VoterFeed™ is based on the good old soapbox model where only the candidate’s own spoken words are used for voters to make a decision. In our research, it is an electorate right now that does not want to be buried in Google searches, biased media opinions, or the confusing analysis of news pundits to get informed.»

As Franklin D. Roosevelt said «Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.»

VoterFeed™ is now sharing login instructions with all campaigns about the exclusive two-week pre-launch access window ahead of September’s public launch to voters.

Candidates running in federal, state, or local races in the USA in 2020 are invited to go to VoterFeed.com now and activate their free account for more details.

For more information on VoterFeed’s fight for the future of democracy, Marc Appleby can be contacted at media(at)voterfeed(dot)com.
