Longroad Energy Acquires ~900 MWdc Arizona Solar and Storage Portfolio from First Solar

BOSTON, Feb. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Longroad Energy Holdings (Longroad), a US-based renewable energy developer, owner, and operator, announced today the signing of the acquisition of Sun Streams 2, 4, and 5, which total approximately 900 MWdc in total solar capacity plus the potential for 1-2 GWh of battery storage.  Longroad also closed the acquisition of Sun Streams 2.  The closing of Sun Streams 4 and 5 is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

Arizona is an important location, as we seek to bring competitive renewable projects to power buyers in the Western U.S.

The projects were purchased from First Solar, Inc. (Nasdaq: FSLR).  Longroad will also power its Sun Streams portfolio with First Solar’s responsibly-produced solar technology and has executed purchase agreements for 900 MWdc of Series 6 modules, of which 700 MWdc represent new bookings for First Solar. 

Sun Streams 2 is being constructed by McCarthy Building Companies and is expected to be operational in June 2021.  Sun Streams 2 energy production is sold under a long-term contract.

Sun Streams 4 and 5 are development projects with target operational dates of 2022 and 2024, respectively.  Both projects are currently uncontracted and uniquely positioned to accommodate a variety of offtake structures, with or without storage.

The main export destinations include the United States, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, etc. With the outbreak of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020, it has had a certain impact on China’s auto radiator exports. The analyst predicts that China’s auto radiator exports will decrease by about 10% from 2019 to the second half of 2021. Will gradually recover.

Competition in China’s market is intense with a large number of manufacturers involved and the market is composed of numerous small-scale enterprises. High certification requirements on OEM put most manufacturers off this market. Therefore, the majority of automobile radiator manufacturers in China focus on supporting domestic and overseas aftermarkets.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, which has had a serious impact on the global economy, the analyst predicts that global and Chinese automobile production will decline in 2020-2021.

From 2022, global automobile production will gradually recover. However, global and Chinese car ownership will continue to grow from 2020 to 2025, and the aftersales market will contribute more and more to car radiators. Due to the low price of China-made car radiators, the analyst expects that China’s auto radiator exports will still have room for growth in the next few years.

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 15, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) and Aristocrat Technologies today announced the launch of «BoydPay,» Boyd Gaming’s new digital wallet product.

Through BoydPay, Boyd Gaming customers will have the ability to create a cashless digital wallet that can be conveniently linked to third-party funding sources driven by Sightline Payments.   BoydPay is now live at Blue Chip Casino Resort Spa in Michigan City, Indiana, Belterra Park in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in field trial at Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

During its initial phase, the BoydPay digital wallet is linked to a player’s B Connected card (Boyd Gaming’s player loyalty program) and used to play or cash out on slot titles, also in partnership with Aristocrat.  Pending regulatory approvals, Boyd Gaming anticipates deploying this product at all of its casino properties nationwide by this summer.

During future phases, and pending regulatory approval, Boyd Gaming will utilize Aristocrat technology to link the BoydPay wallet to its B Connected Mobile app, creating a contactless experience that will allow customers to use their smartphones to play and cash out on casino games and pay for amenities throughout the property.

The seed round funding will be used to support additional R&D hiring and help Green Butcher scale its production in anticipation of a launch into mainstream retailers in Q2 2021.
