PLEASANTON, Calif., Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — As retailers consider how to build on the digital momentum in 2020, a new holiday spending report1 shows a more than 80% increase in digital gift card (eGift) sales and a nearly 40% increase in overall eCommerce gift card sales during the holiday season. The Blackhawk Network BrandedPay™ Post-Holiday spending report based on consumer research and Blackhawk’s own U.S. sales data found consumer spending exceeded holiday projections from the organization’s earlier BrandedPay™ Holiday Shopping Preview2 for both eCommerce and digital gifting, a trend that is poised to continue. The report’s findings come as gift cards look to provide a needed boost for retailers to kick off the new year.

«Brands that optimized their eGift and gift card eCommerce experience won this holiday season. As consumer behavior continued the rapid, digital migration, gift card programs are no exception. This is a huge win for retailers, as gift card recipients show up ready and excited to use them,» said Theresa McEndree, global head of marketing and corporate brand, Blackhawk Network. «Digital adoption will continue and is here to stay. This stream of digital shoppers will benefit retail sales in the first quarter of the year. Nearly half of consumers surveyed expect to spend at least $25 more than the value of their gift cards—and many plan to spend them within the first few months following the holiday season.»

The top findings and trends identified in the report include:

eCommerce and digital gift card sales surged
Consumers surveyed reported doing 68% of their holiday shopping online on average, which is even higher than the anticipated 60% surveyed consumers reported before the holiday season. Following that trend, eCommerce gift card sales growth beat pre-holiday projections and more than doubled the 12% growth seen in 2019. eCommerce gift card sales ahead of the 2020 holiday season were trending at a 21% increase over 2019 and jumped to nearly 40% growth during the holiday season.

  • Holiday eGift sales continued enormous year-long growth. Sales data from Blackhawk Network shows eGifts sales were up over 80% as compared to 2019, surpassing the 74% growth sales were hovering at before the holiday season.

A boost in holiday digital payments adoption looks here to stay
A whopping 41% of consumers surveyed said the payment methods they used to purchase gifts in 2020 were different from those they’ve used in previous years. Nearly 1-in-4 shoppers surveyed reported shopping using a mobile wallet for the first time during the 2020 holiday season, and it looks like usage will stick. Of those surveyed, 37% report that they are likely to permanently adopt the new payment methods they used to shop this year.

Holiday gift cards could provide a boost for retailers in first quarter of 2021
Half of surveyed consumers report they plan to use their gift cards within a month after the holiday, another 23% say they will use their gift cards in the next 3–6 months, and the average denomination for gift cards purchased this holiday season was about $45. This is good news for U.S. retailers as 6-in-10 surveyed shoppers also report that they plan to spend more than the value of their gift card.

SPANISH FORK, Utah, Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — The book Alcanzando el Reino de los Cielos was created by José Luis García Soriano. José is an author who was born in Mexico City. At a very early age, he began to wonder about the afterlife.

José said this about his book: «Reaching the kingdom of heaven, he was born from many questions that the world asks itself without finding correct and concrete answers.

This work has the answers for those basic questions and, above all, the most relevant, which are the following: How to reach the kingdom of heaven? How to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and thus achieve that endless happiness that we all long for?

In this book we will find answers to questions such as the following:

  • Which sheep was Jesus Christ referring to when he said, «I also have other sheep that are not of this fold (John 10:16)?
  • Those who died in sin will have the opportunity of salvation and even many who did not hear from Jesus Christ. Yes (John 5:25–29, 1 Cor. 15:22)!
  • The apostle Paul spoke about baptism for the dead. The degrees of glory are the sun, the moon, and the stars. In the resurrection of the dead, corruption, dishonor, and weakness are sown. And they will rise again in incorruption, in glory, and in power (1 Cor. 15). What does all this mean?
  • Will we have the joy of seeing our loved ones again? Yes.
  • In the last days a great and strong people will rise (Joel 2:2).
  • In the last of times the mountain of the house of Jehovah will be confirmed as the head of the mountains (Isa. 2:2, 3).
  • The fundamental purpose and importance of the temple.
  • The restoration of all things said by the holy prophets is already at the door in these last days.
  • Latinos are direct descendants of Jews.
  • All this and much more.»

Consumers who wish to learn and strengthen their belief in God and his promise of eternal life can purchase Alcanzando el Reino de los Cielos in any bookstore or online at Apple iTunes, Amazon.com, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Realtor.com® December Rental Report: Rents in Major Cities Continue to Decline Double Digits

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Major urban markets, such as San Francisco and Manhattan, continue to see double-digit declines compared to last year, but rent increases in less dense areas have kept nationwide rents growing for one- and two-bedroom units, according to the <a target="_blank"…

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Major urban markets, such as San Francisco and Manhattan, continue to see double-digit declines compared to last year, but rent increases in less dense areas have kept nationwide rents growing for one- and two-bedroom units, according to the realtor.com® December rental report released today. Nationally, the median rent for studio apartments was down 0.7% year-over-year, rent for one-bedrooms was up 0.8%, and rent for two-bedrooms was up 2.6% year-over-year.

«Right now is a great time for renters in major cities to lock in a low price for 2021,» said realtor.com® Chief Economist, Danielle Hale. «But renters in some other areas are seeing a very different trend. With more flexibility and more time at home, renters have sought out extra space, driving up rents in the suburbs and less dense markets. As vaccines are being rolled out nationwide, the question is, how much longer will these trends continue? What’s clear, is that the mantra of real estate being local very much applies to rents, not just home prices.»

San Francisco led the nation in declines with average monthly rents falling 33.8%, 25.5% and 22.8% for studio, one-bedroom and two-bedrooms units year-over-year, respectively. Rents for studios and one-bedrooms in nearby Santa Clara, Calif. and San Mateo, Calif. counties also saw double-digit decreases in December. Outside of the Bay Area, Manhattan, Boston, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. were among the metros seeing the largest year-over-year declines. These markets also represent some of the most expensive cities in the country, giving rents the most room to fall.

In December, the median studio rent in Manhattan was $2,288, down 21.0% year-over-year. Median one-bedroom rent in Manhattan was $3,100, down 18.4% compared to last year. Median two-bedroom rent in Manhattan was $5,200 in December, down 16.1% compared to last year.

When it comes to rent increases, Sacramento, Calif. is leading the nation with average monthly rent increasing 20.3%, 12.4%, and 9.1% for studio, one-bedroom and two-bedrooms year-over-year, respectively.  It was followed by New Haven County, Conn.; Essex County, N.J.; and Monroe County, N.Y.,  which saw average gains of 13.3%, 11.9%, and 11.9%, respectively.

SELBYVILLE, Del., Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire/ –Based on Global Market Insights Inc., report, the global Metal Molds Market for plastic injection molding size was estimated at $4.16 billion in 2020 and is slated to surpass $5.5 billion by 2027, registering a CAGR of 3.5% from 2021 to 2027. The report provides a comprehensive analysis of the top winning strategies, wavering industry trends, drivers & opportunities, top investment avenues, competitive scenarios, market estimations & size.

Growing demand for packaging products from the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and beauty and personal care industry will positively influence the metal molds market revenue generation.

There are primarily two types of steel to choose from for plastic injection molding namely hardened steel and pre-hardened steel. The most used hardened tool steel is S-7, H-13, and 420 stainless steel. While pre-hardened tool steels contain P-20 and mod pre-hardened stainless steel

Others material segments will witness revenue growth of around 3% CAGR during the forecast time period. Other types of metal alloys used in plastic injection molding include beryllium copper (BeCu) and copper, nickel, silicone, and chromium (CuNiSiCr) alloys. The CuNiSiCr based alloy system has a widespread application in the plastic injection mold industry with the introduction of a copper alloy that contains both chromium and nickel silicide.

With a two-stage aging process, this CuNiSiCr alloy provides hardness which exceeds 92 HRB and conductivity of more than 200 W/m/K. The growing construction industry in emerging countries such as China, India, Brazil, Malaysia will further propel the metal molds market growth for plastic injection molding.

Standard/CNC machining will reach around USD 4.5 Billion by 2027. Standard machining requires the use of lathes, drill presses and milling machines. But, with advanced technology, CNC machining is rapidly becoming the predominant means for creating more accurate and complex molds, although still using the standard machining methods. CNC machining uses computers to control the operation and movements of the lathes, mills and other cutting machines.

The medical sector will witness significant growth in the metal molds market for plastic injection molding. Growth in the medical industry can be attributed to the rising prevalence of chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes. According to the United Nations (UN), the proportion of the global burden of chronic diseases is anticipated to reach about 60% by 2030. Limited physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, and unhealthy food habits are some of the major causes of chronic diseases like diabetes and cancer.

Chronic diseases also increase the vulnerability to other infections such as coronavirus infection which significantly damages a patient’s lungs. This will lead to the growing demand for medical devices used in the prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment of various diseases, boosting the medical industry for the projected time period.

North America will hold around a 15% share in the metal molds market for plastic injection molding industry. The region will witness steady growth owing to the presence of advanced medicinal product manufacturers focusing on high value-added equipment with specialized packaging needs. Stringent government regulations coupled with the increase in healthcare spending will drive the growth of the medical device packaging market. According to the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the U.S., healthcare spending grew by 4.6% in 2019 reaching USD 3.8 trillion. The growing healthcare industry will have a positive impact on the metal mold for the plastic injection molding market.

Key manufacturers of the metal molds industry include MSI Mold Builders Inc, Enko AS, ERMO S.A., Bunty LLC, The Rodon Group, Colonial Machine, Engel Austria GmbH, Intertech, Jade Group INTL, Forum Plastics LLC, Accede Mold & Tool Co., Inc.

BOULDER, Colo., Jan. 21, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Steep Climb Ahead—How Fleet Managers Can Prepare for the Coming Wave of Electrified Vehicles offers the first comprehensive assessment of how major US fleet managers are approaching the electrification of their fleets. It is based on RMI’s survey of 91 fleet managers operating large fleets, as well as 18 in-depth interviews conducted with fleet managers representing a cross-section of fleet types, including cities and states, utilities, universities, corporations, and delivery services. The report also explores the current landscape of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, and identifies what will be required to scale up EV adoption.

«Electrifying fleets represents the biggest near-term opportunity to drive EV adoption with large buyers and cut transportation emissions,» explains Britta Gross, the managing director of RMI’s Carbon Free Mobility program. «And the sheer size of these fleets can be leveraged to remove market barriers and drive down costs that are hampering electrification across all transportation sectors. In Steep Climb Ahead, our aim is to prepare these fleets for the challenges ahead, because their success is key to the widespread adoption of EVs,» she said.

The survey found that most fleet managers expect to adopt electric models for the majority of their light-duty cars, trucks, and SUVs over the next decade. Most organizations have committed to reducing their carbon emissions by preferentially choosing EVs for new vehicle purchases where they are deemed to be suitable for a given use case and duty cycle. Light-duty passenger vehicles are ready for electrification now. Suitable electric models of pickup trucks and heavier vehicles will be available in the next two to five years.

However, few organizations are currently equipped to understand and account for the actual costs of owning and operating EVs, or to compare those costs accurately to their existing fleets of conventional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Although many fleets have already implemented pilot programs, electrifying a fleet at scale involves much more than just adding more EVs and chargers incrementally. For many organizations, it will mean restructuring their internal business processes, including procurement, accounting, long-term capital project planning, fiscal budgeting, operations, and more. It will also require a more extensive relationship with their local utilities, more proactive involvement with city and county officials, and a cohesive, integrated strategy across an organization, from the C-suite to individual organizational units.

Other key findings from the survey and interviews include:

  • Procuring EVs is the easy part of electrification. As fleets begin to operate more EVs, scaling up charging infrastructure to accommodate higher rates of charge from more expensive chargers in far more complex installations will quickly become the most significant organizational challenge.
  • Fleets must engage with their local utilities as early as possible, especially for charging infrastructure at large fleet depots, truck stops, and fleet yards with medium- and heavy-duty trucks. The power requirements of these vehicles can be substantial. Installation may require planning by both the utility and fleet operator years in advance.
  • Fleet managers may have unrealistic expectations about being able to use public chargers opportunistically or install only slow Level 2 chargers. At scale, many fleets will need to deploy direct current fast charging (DCFC), which is much more costly to build and operate.
  • At scale, managing the charging of vehicles around their duty cycles takes concerted effort and is not a trivial task. Fleet managers should expect to prepare detailed operational plans for building charging infrastructure and managing charging, or consider outsourcing this to «charging-as-a-service» providers.
  • Many organizations must also consider how to prepare for grid power disruptions. Depending on the fleet, backup power requirements could be very substantial, and installing the requisite capacity could be complex.

Ultimately, the RMI researchers find that fleet electrification will be worth the cost and effort. Done right, fleet electrification can result in significant cost savings for all fleet operators and across all vehicle classes, and be the primary pathway for organizations of all kinds and sizes to significantly reduce their carbon footprints and use energy more efficiently. Done badly, it can be a series of very costly errors. But avoiding electrification isn’t an option. Thanks to increasingly stringent restrictions on vehicle emissions, as well as the ongoing retooling of the global vehicle manufacturing industry to produce electric vehicles, electrification is coming to all fleets, whether they are ready for it or not.
