Blue Shield of California Logo

Blue Shield of California Expands Collaboration with Dignity Health Hospitals to Make Billing and Payment Easier for Patients, Providers

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Blue Shield of California announced the expansion across California of its innovative program designed to transform the medical payment system into a simple, transparent, and more immediate, retail-like experience for patients and medical providers.

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Blue Shield of California announced the expansion across California of its innovative program designed to transform the medical payment system into a simple, transparent, and more immediate, retail-like experience for patients and medical providers.

Blue Shield has teamed up with CommonSpirit Health (which operates Dignity Health hospitals) and software startup OODA Health to introduce the high-tech program. The group is buoyed by initial, positive results – the process makes cost share payments more streamlined, which resulted in a 92 percent satisfaction rate from patients who used it.

«Our goal is to make the medical billing process better so providers can focus on delivering care to patients that will improve their health and wellbeing,» said Shayna Schulz, senior vice president of transformation and operations at Blue Shield of California. «We are using the latest technologies and innovations to create a healthcare system that puts the people at the center of it. That is our mission as a nonprofit health plan: creating a healthcare system that is worthy of our family and friends, and sustainably affordable.»

The three organizations launched the «Member Payments» pilot program in September 2019 at two Dignity Health hospitals in Sacramento. The program, initially slated to run for 12 months, grew to include six hospitals by the end of that year.

Now, the program has expanded to 20 additional Dignity Health hospitals throughout California. For Blue Shield of California members who receive care at those facilities, they will experience a faster, more concise, and transparent billing process, including additional options on how they pay for their portion of the bill.

«We want to support our patients through the entirety of their medical journey so they can focus on their healing. This collaboration with Blue Shield of California and OODA does just that by using technology to make patient medical bills easier to understand,» said Steve Scharmann, vice president of revenue cycle at CommonSpirit Health. «An important part of caring for our patients is to ensure they have a seamless financial experience that is equal to the high-quality care they receive at our hospitals.»

The Member Payments program works this way:

  • Blue Shield of California members receive a consolidated, easy-to-read monthly medical bill from Blue Shield. The patient can choose a payment method for the amount owed – in full or in interest-free installments through their Flexible Spending Account card, credit card, check, or ACH direct deposit connection.
  • Participating healthcare providers receive help managing the financial responsibility owed by Blue Shield members, improving their financial performance, and reducing time spent on paperwork and tracking down unpaid bills.

As part of the collaboration, Blue Shield of California also has implemented new technologies to reduce manual processes and work more efficiently to help create a more consumer-friendly experience for members and providers.

Seth Cohen, co-CEO and co-founder of OODA Health, added, «We are honored to grow this collaboration to help even more patients navigate their medical bills, especially during this turbulent time. And we’re proud to streamline administration and drive tangible results for our collaborators. This expansion further proves how innovative collaboration can catalyze transformation in healthcare.»

The Member Payment program is a first step toward real-time claims settlement that will make medical billing and payment more immediate and simpler. The effort is part of Blue Shield of California’s Health Reimagined initiative, a comprehensive effort to transform the healthcare system for all.

Save Schaumburg Wetlands – Stop Experior Transport from destroying Schaumburg wetlands

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Jan.11, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Irving Park and Frontage Road in Schaumburg, IL, has 55 acres of wetland in agricultural use. Recently, residents have been informed that Village of Schaumburg entered into real estate contract with Experior Transport. They intend to build a gas station, trailer parking, warehouse, and truck and trailer repair station. It is said that this company also intends to erect a 140,000 square feet building for offices in addition to a parking lot for trucks.

By carrying out this massive development, property zoning will be altered. One resident stated that «the area we live in is unincorporated and is considered a residential area. The construction of this establishment would deprive our community of the very necessities that define a home, safety and comfort».

The air and the environs of Long Avenue in Schaumburg communities would now be at risk for air pollution. NCBI study show that air contamination levels are five to thirty times higher in gas stations located next to residential areas. Another study by Maher Soliman also detected that vehicle repair compounds could be possible cancer-causing agents because air pollution can occur from diesel engines idling for extended amounts of time, along with paint vapors and dust from vehicle body refinishing.

EPA study show that these types of material can settle on the establishment’s parking lots and other impervious surfaces and could stream down when it rains onto the residential properties close by. These polluting materials can exude harmful substances into people’s lungs, their land, and water.

Gas stations provide an abundance of air pollution. The California Air Resources Board’s publication Air Quality and Use Handbook: A Community Health Perspective recommends a minimum of 300-ft isolation between gas stations and other sensitive lands. Lands used for places of residence, schools, day-care centers, playgrounds, or medical facilities are all considered to be in the category of sensitive lands. California’s state is widely recognized as having some of the most effective air pollution control requirements in the nation. Considering this establishment’s proximity to Schaumburg residents, it must be moved elsewhere to meet this criterion.

Another resident stated that «Our community uses private well systems, and the chemicals from the underground tanks of gas could contaminate our water. We have already invested a lot of resources to keep our water clean. with a gas station, and a trucking station so close it will become more costly and more difficult to keep our water safe».

Vehicles driving in and being repaired may also provide discontent and damage to the hearing of these residents as air guns produce noise levels of 104 dBA, and if air chisels are used in body shops, they can emit 112 dBA. For every 3 dB above 85 dBA, the maximum exposure time is cut in half. This means that people cannot be exposed to its sound for protracted periods. People living next to to this massive development, exposed to these immense sound levels, may have challenges with their hearing.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that children have no exposure above 120 dB to protect their ears, and adults also need to be excessively wary. Considering that there are many children in this community, the noise will be both equally irritating and detrimental.

Another point to note is that the wetland is home to many animals. The benefit of wetland to animals is food and habitat for fish and wildlife. The residents also pointed out coyotes, owls, bats, deer, snakes, turtles, and all kinds of birds living in that area. If this land were to be destroyed, where would they go? They would become a threat to the community.

A lot of the homes in this area have been recently bought, because of the outdoor space, nature and quietness of the area. If these commercial facilities are built so close to residential area, the homes’ value will fall drastically, because it’s unhealthy and not ideal to live next to a commercial business that produces harmful pollution day and night.

This is an injustice that must be prevented, considering it will be an immense disturbance to the residents and the lives of the entire neighborhood. When purchasing a house, people expects to live in a calm and quiet area, where after a long day of work, you can finally relax and enjoy the peace of your home with your family. If this gas station is established, along with other facilities, it will affect Long Avenue neighborhoods negatively and all residents will no longer have pleasure in recreational lives. This proposed plan to build a commercial trucking station is not only unnecessary, but it will also be perilous and bothersome.

The residents of Schaumburg love their community and want nothing but to enjoy their surroundings. If this big commercial enterprise comes, their safe haven faces the possibility of becoming non-existent.

California Olive Ranch Kicks Off the New Year with a Renewed Commitment to Consumer Transparency & Environmental Sustainability

CHICO, Calif., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — California Olive Ranch («COR»), the leading domestic grower of olives for extra virgin olive oil («EVOO») with the #1 bestselling product in the U.S. olive oil category1, is ringing in the new year with the announcement of…

CHICO, Calif., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — California Olive Ranch («COR»), the leading domestic grower of olives for extra virgin olive oil («EVOO») with the #1 bestselling product in the U.S. olive oil category1, is ringing in the new year with the announcement of several exciting initiatives. Today, the company unveiled a new packaging design for its California Olive Ranch® brand and an innovative technology investment that reaffirms its commitment to consumer transparency. The company is also announcing the completion of one of the largest olive tree plantings in California in recent years and new environmental sustainability initiatives, including a commitment to regenerative agriculture and converting over 320,000 olive trees to organic production. Once complete, this will make COR one of the largest producers of certified organic 100% California EVOO.

New California Olive Ranch® Brand Packaging a Reflection of Company Commitment to Transparency

A reflection of the company’s continued commitment to holding itself to a higher quality standard, the brand’s new, more modern looking labels help shoppers better understand the taste profile and flavor intensity of each product while also continuing to provide clear front-of-pack information on the different sources of EVOO across the company’s various 100% California and global blended product lines. «We are always pushing to help consumers understand what to expect from our diverse line of products,» said Michael Fox, CEO of COR, «Our labels were industry-leading in their transparency before and now with our new, more modern design are even more accurate, simple and clear.»

The new labels, which will appear in stores over the next several months, encompass the full brand portfolio, including the 100% California and 100% California Reserve collections, the Global Blend collection (formerly known as the Destination Series,) and a new culinary line that includes the company’s new Baking Blends and Keto Blends. New tasting notes and intensity cues were added to the products to give consumers additional assistance in understanding the flavor differences across the profiles. The company’s goal is to offer consumers an array of great-tasting options for every household looking to create delicious food with healthy, high-quality EVOO. «Our mission has always been to offer the highest quality extra virgin olive oil at an accessible price point,» said Fox. «All of our extra virgin olive oils are crafted to the California Department of Food and Agriculture Standard, which is the strictest olive oil standard for quality and purity in the world.»

COR is also developing a new, industry-leading technology solution that will bolster its commitment to transparency even further.  Slated to roll out later this year, this new technology will give consumers even more insight into the source of the oil they purchased and the specific quality and purity certifications and attributes.  Additionally, the technology will help educate consumers on creative uses as well as the unique health benefits of each EVOO in the company’s portfolio.

Committed to Environmental Sustainability and Growth of the California Olive Industry

The company is proud to share its dedication to doing its part to advance the California olive oil industry and to help ensure there is a thriving planet for generations to come.  «We are committed to helping grow the California olive oil industry and are making investments across our organization to understand and apply the latest thinking in environmental sustainability to our farming practices,» said Fox. «We are also expanding our investments in regenerative agriculture to actively improve the condition of our natural resources, not just sustaining them.» Below is a brief highlight of the large initiatives the company is pursuing. The company’s first environmental impact report will be produced by the end of the year, providing more insight into these practices.

  • COR has stepped up its commitment to regenerative agriculture practices to further aid in carbon sequestration and soil health across all their acres. After successful trials, the company has rolled out regenerative soil practices like planting a diverse cover crop, no to minimal tilling, reusing tree trimmings and olive pomace in its compost, minimal mowing and inoculating soil with a proprietary microbe «compost tea» to increase soil life and health, and reducing/eliminating reliance on synthetic fertilizers. The company is partnering with leading California universities and state resource centers to further study and analyze the positive impact these practices will have on the soil health and environment.
  • COR has recently completed the planting of over two million olive trees in California with family-owned farms across the state. Not only does this increase the supply of California olives for olive oil, but research from the International Olive Council also indicates that olive trees could have a meaningful impact on sequestering carbon from the air.  COR has initiated its own research to better understand the positive benefits of the company’s modern farming and harvesting techniques in calculating its impact on California’s greenhouse gas emissions.
  • COR has started the transition of more than 320,000 olive trees to organic farming practices.  When the conversion is complete, COR would be one of the leading, if not the leading farmer of olives for USDA certified organic 100% California EVOO.

Conserva Irrigation Announces Accelerated Growth Plans and a New Partnership with Franchise FastLane to Increase its Expansion Across the United States

RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Conserva Irrigation, the only national outdoor irrigation company founded on the concept of water conservation, announced today it has partnered with the country’s leading franchise sales organization, Franchise FastLane, as part of its strategy to significantly…

RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Conserva Irrigation, the only national outdoor irrigation company founded on the concept of water conservation, announced today it has partnered with the country’s leading franchise sales organization, Franchise FastLane, as part of its strategy to significantly accelerate the growth of the business throughout the United States.

This comes shortly after Conserva Irrigation announced just last month that, as the largest and first-to-market franchise in the irrigation industry, it had eclipsed 100 territories operationally. Conserva Irrigation operates underneath the Outdoor Living Brands umbrella organization, a franchise company that has successfully scaled four similar exterior home services franchises.

After testing the business model in various pilot markets for five years, Conserva Irrigation was launched as a franchise by Outdoor Living Brands in mid-2017. Chris Grandpre, Chairman & CEO of Outdoor Living Brands, said «we’ve admired Franchise FastLane’s ability to deliver exponential franchise growth to its partner brands. After methodically testing the Conserva Irrigation business model for five years and then building it to a 100+ unit franchise system over the last three years, our organization is ready to support the exponential growth that we’re confident Franchise FastLane will deliver. We’ve invested in the support team and support systems and have the experience and track record gained from our other brands to handle an increased pace of new Conserva franchise location openings. In light of how selective Franchise FastLane is, we’re thrilled to partner with them for this next chapter of our growth.»

According to Carey Gille, President of Franchise FastLane, «we conducted preliminary due diligence on over 200 franchise brands in 2020, but brought on less than ten as new brand partners. We are extremely selective in search of the most compelling franchise opportunities. We look for concepts with strong unit economics for franchisees, attractive ROI’s, happy and successful franchisees who support the brand’s growth, and a franchisor willing and able to support the expedited growth that Franchise FastLane will bring. Outdoor Living Brands has a proven track record and experience scaling franchise businesses. That track record and financial strength, combined with Conserva’s first-to-market positioning and its differentiated business model makes this a compelling franchise offering for Franchise FastLane to represent.»

Labeled as an essential business amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Conserva Irrigation’s rapid growth can be credited to innovation, teamwork and culture, and the strength of its business model and proprietary processes to audit irrigation systems. Conserva’s methodology includes a quantitative rating of the water efficiency of an irrigation system called the System Efficiency Score or «SES».

The SES allows a residential or commercial property owner to understand how much water their sprinkler systems are wasting, as well as to understand what repairs and improvements need to be made to reduce water consumption and lower water bills while keeping turf and plant material healthy.

«Conserva Irrigation is proud to be the industry leader in providing responsible, water-efficient irrigation solutions to our clients, while helping our franchisees to build vibrant businesses that allow them to achieve their personal career, lifestyle and financial goals,» stated Russ Jundt, founder of Conserva Irrigation and brand leader of the business unit under Outdoor Living Brands. «We are excited to have the opportunity to accelerate the pace of adding new franchisees and locations to our system in partnership with Franchise FastLane.»

In addition to its growth, Conserva Irrigation recently jumped more than 1,400 spots in last year’s Inc. 5000 ranking, which lists companies based on their percentage of revenue growth from 2016 to 2019. Conserva Irrigation also experienced its highest sales months in June and July 2020 since the company’s inception in 2010. With a successful track record, Conserva Irrigation has remained nimble during the pandemic to sustain company growth. It adjusted field operating procedures and launched virtual franchisee training this year allowing it to continue its supporting new franchise openings while maintaining social distancing requirements.

Conserva Irrigation is planning expansion throughout the United States and continues to seek single- and multi-unit franchise operators with a range of corporate experience, independent or franchise business owners looking for diversification opportunities, and irrigation companies seeking to align with Conserva’s proven business model and systems. Incentives are also available for veterans, multi-territory agreements, and those with existing irrigation businesses.

NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Paybby, a mission driven Public Benefit Corporation, launches the ‘Together We Can’ platform to help entrepreneurs and small businesses in minority communities access Covid-19 Relief Funding and grants.

Paybby’s ‘Together We Can’ platform simplifies the application process by leveraging technology.

The SBA and Treasury announced that the new PPP loan will re-open with community financial institutions (CFI) exclusively allowed to make first-draw PPP loans starting Jan. 11 and second-draw PPP loans starting Jan. 13. CFIs are banks and credit unions that accommodate people who are traditionally locked out of affordable financial services.

«Black and brown communities have been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19,» said Hassan Miah, CEO and Founder of Paybby. «With Paybby’s ‘Together We Can platform,’ entrepreneurs, and small business owners can expedite the process of receiving Covid-19 Relief Funding and grants. They desperately need the funding not only to keep their businesses afloat, but to financially support their families and the communities they serve.»

This platform is being introduced to help small businesses expedite the process of receiving funding. With many small businesses having to resort to shutting their doors, the effect has been devastating on businesses, families of business owners, and the communities they operate in.

«When we look at the statistics of how much funding Black entrepreneurs receive in contrast to total funding, the number is abysmal,» says Miah. «Due to the lack of funds during this pandemic, many small businesses within these communities have had to permanently close. We need to change this immediately. This is why we felt it was urgent to launch the ‘Together We Can’ platform to help these communities at their moment in need. We understand that providing access to the information necessary to receive funding is instrumental in the success of these business owners.»

More than 2 out of 5 small businesses and self-employed workers have been forced to stop business as a result of Covid-19. Black and Brown businesses receive far less than the number suggests given the relative size of the communities they serve.

Paybby’s new ‘Together We Can’ platform can simplify and expedite the application processing for entrepreneurs in these communities so they can receive the financial relief they need. To sign up and get started, please visit www.Paybby.com/TogetherWeCan.

DUBAI, UAE, Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Businesses in the Middle East can now hope to thrive again as the borders with Qatar is now open. Despite the fact that exchange wasn’t hampered in most recent three years yet the availability to open boundaries is sending a note of development in the impending year. The Trade and Travel industry can now be able envision the ascent in tourists from the GCC countries and lower costs. Numerous GCC residents accessed roads for events and holidays previously and we ideally will see a bounce during Eid Holidays this year. The pandemic has enforced shutting down the airports and people are avoiding taking a flight. On that note, maybe GCC countries can fabricate their own travel bubble amidst pandemic and allow the travellers to access the shores of the Arabian Seas instead of boarding a plane.

The UAE will reopen all land, sea and airports with Qatar from Saturday, January 9. According to Arabian Business News, Gulf states expect to open their airspace to Qatar and resume trade with the natural-gas powerhouse within a week of the January 5 signing of an accord ending their rift, a senior UAE minister said Thursday. The agreement signed in Saudi Arabia at a summit of Gulf leaders has «a note about ending measures within a week,» Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said in a virtual media briefing, referring to the air and trade measures. Under the accord, four Arab states including the UAE agreed to fully restore ties with Qatar, ending a three-year dispute that divided the energy-producing region at a time of heightened tensions between the US and its Gulf allies and Iran.

Almost 18 million passengers passed through the Dubai Airports last year even as the world battled the Covid-19 pandemic and countries-imposed lockdowns and border closures to counter its spread. According to the latest figures released by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the emirate’s airports facilitated the travel of 17.88 million passengers in 2020.

Dubai is just getting started, Dubai Shopping Festival is back in the season, and travel and food displays like Gulfood, Arabian Travel Market, and The Hotel Show are back in the diagrams. Firecrackers at Burj Khalifa alongside different areas in Dubai sent an unmistakable message that Covid or something else, Dubai is relentless. As the World Expo-2020 is quick drawing closer in October 2021, there is a promising end to current circumstances.

Hozpitality Group is also finalizing venues of its Chef Excellence Awards and Middle East Hospitality Excellence Awards to be held in Dubai in 2021. Last year due to Covid these were held online but we would like to have a grand ceremony once again this year, said Raj Bhatt, CEO, Hozpitality Group.

UAE has additionally begun administering Pfizer and Sinopharm inoculations to the occupants which are effectively open to the inhabitants. Residents of the same emirate will be provided the vaccination in their respective emirate and are required to carry their Emirates ID. Dubai is planning to inoculate 70% of its population with the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer and BioNTech by the end of 2021, in a campaign free of charge for citizens and residents, to reach the herd immunity in the nation, a health official said.

According to Top Hotel News, «2021 will bring 135 new hotels and 36,200 additional keys to the Middle East on current estimates – 80 of these schemes are now in the pre-opening phase. Another 206 properties are scheduled to go live in 2021, bringing 63,719 extra rooms into play. 113 projects are underway for 2022 and will yield 34,334 keys. Only 49 new hotels have been signed off for 2023, but new projects will likely be added in the coming years. 142 more hotels are on the books for 2024 and beyond.»

People are a social element, lockdowns may have kept individuals desiring for the love of movement and outings however once the crowd resistance is achieved, individuals will travel once more. The voyage lines will again swear on the life of seas, the flights will again shake the skies and the lodgings will again be loaded up with movement lovers. Despite the fact that the lodgings have encountered lower ADR and RevPAR, yet these two major occasions could make up for the shortfall made by the pandemic as the inhabitants are required to rise.

We can likewise accept the job market to thrive in the year 2021. UAE organizations are as of now recruiting individuals accessible in the nation as the new visas are not being provided to overseas candidates. This could change once the hazard of COVID-19 variant has passed and herd immunity is accomplished in the nation. The Government is making an excellent showing in containing the infection and holding organizations during these difficult stretches. Things are taking a gander right now and we could expect life in the UAE returning to normalcy before the finish of 2021.

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Tom Kelly, president and CEO of IDX, the leading consumer privacy platform and data breach services provider, recently briefed numerous United States government officials on the implications of the recent SolarWinds cyberattack, an online assault unprecedented in depth and scope. The hack is believed to have been spearheaded by the Russian SVR Intelligence Service, having breached up to 12,000 organizations and gained access to sensitive data, such as unclassified emails from government officials and correspondence from gas, oil, technology companies, and more.

«It was an honor to speak among such a powerful group of decision-makers and executives in the space. As we know, the SolarWinds hack has had a profound impact on U.S. government and commercial organizations compromised by this foreign actor,» said Tom Kelly. «I predict that the implications of the hack will prove far-reaching and ultimately result in significant compromise to the privacy of American consumers.»

The timely virtual forum was hosted by Principal to Principal, which convened senior government and policy officials from all over the country to focus primarily on the risks resulting from this cyber compromise to organizations, government agencies, as well as to the privacy of consumers.  Tom Kelly was joined in this forum by the Honorable Mike Rogers, former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

The forum specifically addressed concerns surrounding the SolarWinds hack, which was discovered on December 8, 2020, and compromised many United States Treasury, Commerce, and other government offices, as well as numerous corporate enterprises. Rogers and Kelly discussed the level of sophistication and ongoing impact of the SolarWinds hack, including the need to balance homeland cybersecurity and our citizens’ online privacy. The hackers were excellent at identifying privileged access management, where they were able to hack into the highest level of security and carefully monitor traffic of the organization that was actively involved in alerting government agencies of the data breach risks.

«It’s imperative that companies take this event as a major wake-up call and respond by carefully evaluating their security protections in light of the sophistication demonstrated by nation-state perpetrators. Further, while this hack appears initially motivated on cyber intelligence, the downstream effect is very likely to impact consumer digital privacy in a significant manner,» continued Tom Kelly

Prominent attendees included Congressman Jim Langevin (D-RI-2), Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL-11), Congressman Doug Lamborn (R-CO-5), Congressman Buddy Carter (R-GA-1), and more.

OpenGov and Fyllo Announce Strategic Partnership to Create the First Comprehensive Cannabis Licensing, Regulatory and Compliance Tracking Solution for Local Governments

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. and CHICAGO, Jan. 11, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Today, OpenGov and Fyllo announced they have entered into a strategic partnership, combining OpenGov’s industry-leading cloud ERP and Citizen Services software for the nation’s cities, counties, and state agencies with Fyllo’s world-class compliance solutions for highly regulated industries. Together, the two companies will create the first comprehensive cannabis licensing, regulatory and compliance tracking solution for local municipalities writing new regulations and approving new cannabis operations.

New recreational and medical markets that came online after the election along with new rules around delivery during COVID, and federal guidelines and rules for hemp-based Cannabidiol (CBD) all add to the complexity of tracking the pathwork of regulations and remaining compliant with permitting, licensing, and regulatory requirements. Since March of this year, Fyllo has reported a 55% increase in the number of local government meetings about marijuana regulation across the U.S.  Further, Fyllo detected about 120 announcements by 45 jurisdictions across the U.S. with cannabis licenses pending.

These laws offer a new source of revenue for local governments during a critical period. In states where marijuana legalization has passed, governments have begun to build their operational infrastructure for licensing, planning and zoning, and taxation. As reflected in OpenGov’s eBook A Local Government’s Guide to Successful Cannabis Regulation & Licensing, municipalities have chosen to create zoning laws to control the density of cannabis establishments in a given area and to collect local license fees for these businesses.

OpenGov Citizen Services removes the need to visit City Hall for these licenses by providing a single cloud solution used for a variety of different government workflows, including issuing building and health permits, collecting fees for special events and pet licenses, and managing approvals for small business loans and virtual inspections. OpenGov is working with communities like Desert Hot Springs and Fresno, California, who are issuing commercial licenses to cannabis manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and testing and research facilities. The platform allows constituents to upload required documents digitally, complete their applications online, and pay fees conveniently with a credit card.

«OpenGov is the most forward-thinking provider of cloud ERP and Citizen Services software for governments to streamline permitting, licensing, and code enforcement,» said Chad Bronstein, CEO of Fyllo. «Our partnership will make it easier for governments to keep pace with category growth and accelerate economic development in their communities.»

Fyllo’s regulatory database allows government officials to easily track regulations and policies tied to these processes to ensure that municipalities are compliant with state and federal law. By working as a repository for regulatory intelligence, government staff and local policymakers are able to put the individual pieces of regulation together so they can see the bigger picture of what’s going on in the cannabis industry specific to where they’re located and collaborate with residents about what model is best for their communities. Additionally, cannabis companies and legal professionals leverage Fyllo to monitor changes in regulations in real time and ensure businesses are in compliance as laws and regulations change within the jurisdictions they operate.

David Reeves, OpenGov President said, «We’ve worked with governments who are looking at depleting budgets and considering cannabis as an alternative revenue source but do not know where to begin. Fyllo is the market leader in regulatory compliance and will be able to give governments a broad view of the legislative landscape and intelligence about ongoing trends. OpenGov will continue to ensure that services such as applying for a license or completing a facility inspection are efficient, safe, and seamless for government staffers and community residents.»
