LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — In the current era of misinformation and fake news, Logically, a credible news curator rooted in artificial intelligence (AI), is making its first foray into the U.S. market – bringing credibility and confidence to news and social discourse ahead of the 2020 elections. Well established in both the UK and India, the company today launches its Chrome browser extension to fact check, analyze and evaluate the credibility of online articles and comments on social platforms. Logically is accredited by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN).

News Articles
Covering more than 100,000 news sites globally, the Logically extension labels the credibility of any source (low, medium, high) and article (reliable, unreliable) and establishes the sentiment of the story. In addition, Logically also highlights key people, places, topics and institutions behind the headlines to give readers a more Immersive understanding of any story. A Related Articles tab allows users to browse and click through to articles on the same topic from different sources to round out their knowledge on the topic.

Logically will also fact check any claim in any news source for an individual user. Within a specific article, a user just clicks on the Logically extension icon, selects the Fact Check tab, then either selects a claim that has already populated or enters the claim manually. All fact checks returned are evidenced by at least 3 sources/URLs and are shareable to Facebook or Twitter.

With the largest fact checking team in the world, the company will currently turn individual requests within 24 hours. By mid-August, the company will introduce its automated research assistant to suggest credible evidence and prior factchecks for any user requests.

Social Platforms
Working across Facebook, Reddit, Twitter and YouTube, the Logically extension fact checks and determines the toxicity level of social posts and commentary. If a post is deemed toxic, the post will be labeled and obscured. An icon next to the post helps the user to understand why the post has been obscured and we give our users the power to personalize the level to which they are exposed to these posts in the future. Claims found on social platforms can also be easily fact checked through the extension.

«With the ease of online publishing today, it is becoming harder for people to determine which sources are credible and which aren’t, leading the way for toxic news to travel faster than truth,» said Lyric Jain, founder and CEO of Logically. «Our goal is to stop the spread of misinformation by empowering people with tools that help them cope with information overload by assessing the credibility and veracity of sources.  We want to ensure people see both sides of an issue by providing context, and to keep elections fair by providing facts while mitigating threats and influence operations.»

How it Works
Logically uniquely utilizes multiple AI models, alongside natural language processions (NLP), to process, understand and analyze text. Built on a set of modular processes capable of analyzing endless amounts of data, the technology ingests, extracts and structures information to provide context.

The ensemble nature of Logically’s AI models differentiates it from any other misinformation or fact checking technology on the market today. Analyzing content from 100,000+ sources and 500,000+ articles per day, the company’s AI leaves no stone unturned, evaluating every possible indicator of an article’s accuracy, as well as the specific claims contained within the text, to inform more sophisticated conclusions than rival models. Logically analyzes the network, content and metadata to reach its conclusions.

Live in both the UK and India, the company has gained major traction in both markets over the last several years, supporting government and platform partners in both markets through 3 elections and the Covid-19 pandemic. In India, the company identified 50 thousand fake stories during the last election campaign alone.

Logically recently closed its seed round of funding from U.K.-based Mercia and XTX, bringing the company’s total raise to nearly $10 million. The company will additionally be bringing its flagship fact-finding app to the U.S. market in the coming weeks, leading up to the U.S. political conventions and election.

About Logically
Founded in 2017 by MIT and Cambridge alum Lyric Jain, Logically is a social enterprise that leverages artificial and human intelligence to credibly curate news and social discourse today.  Working with government bodies and social platforms, and providing consumer products, the company solves for the issue of misinformation that plagues the world today. The company has offices in the U.K. and India, and is opening an office in the U.S. For more information, please visit Logically.ai.

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Effective School Solutions (ESS), the country’s leading provider of school-based mental health services for K-12 school districts, has released C.O.P.E., a new mental health planning framework to assist districts in implementing the mental health supports students will need this fall due to the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had (and continues to have) on student social-emotional health.

The C.O.P.E. framework has a specific list of checklist items that provides districts with an actionable roadmap for how they can support student mental health. ESS has released a solution brief entitled Introducing C.O.P.E.- A Mental Health Action Plan for Back to School, which outlines questions districts should be asking themselves and steps they can take.

Duncan Young, CEO of ESS, stated «It’s critical that districts put a flexible safety net in place to support the mental health of every student. As districts plan what school is going to look like in the fall, it’s important that every district have a specific set of scaffolds in place for this vital component of student success and well-being.»

The C.O.P.E. framework is organized around four key domains:

  • Communicate- steps to build awareness and focus all stakeholders on the challenges students are likely to face
  • Orient- measures to expand the toolkit of educators to identify mental health warning signs and manage the effects of trauma in students
  • Phase- adopting a phased approach to clinical care that broadens reach during the back to school period
  • Extend- embedding mental health and social-emotional supports throughout the school curriculum

In conjunction with the release of its solution brief, ESS has designed an accompanying self-assessment for districts, Assessing Mental Health Readiness for School Re-Entry, which provides a way for districts to apply the systematic data-driven approach behind the C.O.P.E framework.

Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools, Leading Architecture Firms SITU & WXY, Unveil New «Front Porch» Urban Design Concept to Support Safe Entry and School Arrival Amidst COVID-19

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools (LAB) announces the launch of its new «

BROOKLYN, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Today, Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools (LAB) announces the launch of its new «Front Porch» designed by architects at SITU and WXY — an outdoor lobby that ensures safe entry and exit in response to the threat of COVID-19 and helps integrate its education buildings with the greater community.

At a live socially distant demo event, Brooklyn LAB unveiled the structure, during which faculty and medical professionals rehearsed the school’s new arrival process and showcased the Front Porch’s design elements. Staged classrooms also illustrated the rigorous social distancing protocols that LAB will be implementing when schools can safely reopen.

«As we prepare to reopen our schools this fall, school administrators must examine our back-to-school rituals and consider how to upgrade our plans for re-entry to account for the global health pandemic that is ravaging communities around the country. Science, technical expertise, and public health must guide our preparation,» says Eric Tucker, Executive Director of Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools. The Front Porch concept prioritizes social distancing, temperature checks, staggered scheduling, and increased points of entry and exit of school buildings.

The Front Porch evolved from ideas generated by Brooklyn LAB’s May 2020 Back to School Facilities Tool Kit, which serves as a visual guide for schools preparing to reopen after COVID-19 closures. The Tool Kit presents ideas for facilities upgrades focused on creating an environment that supports social distancing and other health-related requirements for both the journey to and from school and the classroom experience.

«School is about much more than education, and this fall, it is vital that families have options that make them feel safe,» said Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. «The solutions that Brooklyn LAB has spearheaded are just one more example of the incredible strength, ingenuity and collaborative spirit that New Yorkers have displayed over the past months, and can serve as a model for schools as they consider their options.»

Brooklyn LAB and design experts involved in creating the Back to School Facilities Tool Kit identified LAB’s entry and exit points as a major concern for safe reopening this fall. Like many New York City schools located in multistory buildings, LAB has limited points of entry. Over the past two decades, many urban schools have become even more «fortified» in response to the specter of gun violence. If no changes are made to the entry process, architects and planners predict that students could end up waiting in long lines for hours to maintain 6 feet of space between students. This would increase students’ exposure to health risks and could disturb the surrounding community with more noise and congestion.

Using input from students, families, staff, and community members, Brooklyn LAB worked with Urban Projects Collaborative, SITU, WXY, and Urban Umbrella to develop and adapt design concepts for middle and high school facilities and operations at 77 Sands Street.

Developing the Front Porch required careful integration with school operations. It accounted for several challenges by:

  • Staggering school entry by class to minimize long lines and wait periods
  • Creating «split schedule» AM/PM queuing to minimize challenges with the entry, exit, and classroom cleaning processes
  • Ensuring accessibility in terms of installation, permitting, and cost. For instance, the Front Porch solution Brooklyn LAB chose is built from off-the-shelf materials that can be rented by the month and are pre-approved by the Department of Buildings

In addition to adhering to safety protocols, design elements of the physical structure will also beautify the space and foster a sense of community:

  • Polycarbonate ceiling panels allow natural light to filter through
  • Natural materials including wood planter boxes soften the urban space
  • Colorful painted ground surface and playful graphic art incorporate elements of the school logo
  • Wayfinding and social distancing graphics ensure safe 6-foot distanced queuing
  • Greeting station displays safety measure infographics, while providing privacy for wellness checks required before entry
  • Student artwork is installed on banners secured to the shed structure, which can be periodically rotated with new art

Brooklyn LAB believes schools should be part of the urban ecosystem. At LAB, students have benefited from opportunities such as internships, career days, and community service projects in local organizations. After the pandemic, LAB’s Front Porch will play a new role, serving as a venue to invite the surrounding community into the school building. «LAB is imagining the Front Porch as a place to share information about school activities, host community gatherings, and give students and community members the chance to connect in ways that bring out the best of Brooklyn,» says Aaron Daly, Chief Operating Officer, Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools.

As schools grapple with basic questions about whether their doors will open this fall, one of the primary concerns for urban schools will be to rethink school entry and exit protocols under the pandemic. The Front Porch is a solution that safeguards health today while building a necessary bridge connecting schools to the communities and cities they serve.

«When we consider what designing for an eventual reopening might look like, schools in urban centers are particularly challenged, because they are often located in mixed-use buildings that aren’t especially conducive to social distancing,» said WXY’s Principal-in-Charge Claire Weisz. «WXY welcomed the opportunity to partner with Brooklyn LAB, SITU, UPC and Urban Umbrella to design the Front Porch Framework as part of a suite of solutions that would not only prioritize the health and wellness of the school’s community but also reimagine how any urban school’s vital social infrastructure can be integrated into the public realm, now and after the pandemic is gone.»

About Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools
Brooklyn Laboratory Charter Schools (LAB), founded in 2014, is a network of public charter schools that will serve 6-12th grade students this fall. LAB was designed to educate high-need urban students, particularly those who are least well-served by their current educational options. Named a «Center of Excellence» for its work with Students with Disabilities by the National Center for Special Education in Charter Schools, LAB aims to meet the individual needs of each student and to leverage innovative technologies and learning practices to eradicate the achievement gap. LAB was selected as an XQ school and is actively involved in work to upgrade and rethink high school to better meet the needs of students and of the future. Stryker’s Neuroform Atlas® Stent System granted an expanded indication, providing a new option for patients with aneurysms in the back of the brain

KALAMAZOO, Michigan, USA, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Stryker announced today that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for an expanded indication of its Neuroform Atlas Stent System, becoming the first and only adjunctive stent approved for use in the posterior (back of the brain) circulation.  Aneurysms in the posterior circulation rupture more frequently and are generally more difficult to treat. With the approval of the Neuroform Atlas adjunctive stent for the posterior circulation, long term treatment is more feasible.

Already approved for use in the anterior circulation, the expanded indication was granted based on robust clinical trial evidence proving the safety and efficacy of the device.  The combined patients from both the anterior and posterior cohorts totaled 298 patients, making it the largest study of its kind.

«The Atlas Posterior PMA trial data shows a compelling advancement in the treatment of wide-neck posterior aneurysms,» said Dr. Sam Zaidat, Director of the Neuroscience and Stroke Center at Mercy Health System in Toledo, Ohio, and Co-Principal Investigator of the U.S. Neuroform Atlas investigational trial. «Posterior stent assisted coiling with Neuroform Atlas achieved an impressive high rate of complete occlusion in this very challenging location at 76.7%. Equally impressive was the 4.3% primary safety rate.»

An estimated 6.5 million people in the United States have unruptured brain aneurysms with an average rupture rate of 1 every 18 minutes.  Ruptured brain aneurysms are fatal in roughly 50% of cases.1

«Complete occlusion, or complete blocking of blood flow, is the gold standard in determining long term aneurysm healing,» said Dr Brian Jankowitz, Director, Cerebrovascular Surgery at the Cooper Neurological Institute in Camden, New Jersey.  «With the additional challenges that come with treating posterior circulation aneurysms, we never would have anticipated reaching occlusion rates that rival those found in the anterior circulation. Now with Neuroform Atlas, those same high rates are achievable.»

«The results from the Atlas Posterior PMA trial demonstrate that physicians can now address the more difficult posterior circulation aneurysms, offering hope for better outcomes in that patient population,» said Mark Paul, president of Stryker’s Neurovascular division. «This expanded indication of Neuroform Atlas, as the first and only adjunctive stent for use in the posterior circulation, reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing stroke care for patients with cerebrovascular disease.»

About Neuroform Atlas Stent System
Stryker’s Neuroform Atlas Stent System is a self-expanding nitinol stent used in conjunction with metal coils to pack weakened blood vessel sacs called aneurysms within the brain.  The stent is positioned across the aneurysm neck to hold metal coils in place and occlude the aneurysm.

The Neuroform Atlas Stent System is indicated for use with neurovascular embolization coils in the anterior and posterior circulation of the neurovasculature for the endovascular treatment of patients ≥ 18 years of age with saccular wide-necked (neck width ≥ 4 mm or a dome-to-neck ratio of < 2) intracranial aneurysms arising from a parent vessel with a diameter of ≥ 2.0 mm and ≤ 4.5 mm.

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — PrimeHangout a 100% minority owned social media carefully positioned to successfully compete through exclusive technology as well as success driven innovation now presents Transparency™ announced by Dr. Henry I. Balogun Founder/CEO of www.primehangout.com. This is a technology developed to assist students of all ages in their quest for academic excellence and to lend a helping hand to every institution of learning all over the world. «What is Transparency™? Transparency™, a free service at every level is developed to remove stigma associated with learning problems. It is equally designed to assist teachers who are frustrated and wrestling with a what-do-I-do to help students a little more.«

«No child should suffer and struggle quietly with learning difficulties. Transparency™ provides an open door to a child having problems with whatever subject – math, science or any subject in any school in the United States and around the world. One thing we cannot over emphasize is the fact that Transparency™ is totally free for schools and free for students and their parents. All there is to be done is for schools to register to use it. Once registered, invitation goes out to Teachers who would in turn enter their student’s as well as parents’ information to receive exclusive registration invitation,» declared by Dr. Balogun.

Talk about social distancing, Transparency™ does not allow virtual discrete attraction or solicited prone personal interactions between teachers and students, or teachers and parents and even between teachers. The main mission to assist cannot be compromised. We are neither a school nor a meeting place for whatever reason but a platform to assist teachers and for students to gain better understanding. Our primary objective is to make it easier for students everywhere to have access to all necessary help.

What you see or have access to within the PrimeHangout platform depend on who you are and your login credential. PrimeHangout provides helpful and growth oriented interconnected web of technologies within a social media and this is just the beginning There is nothing like this. PrimeHangout takes social networking to a new height. You’ve got to experience it to believe it. We are still work in progress. Go to www.primehangout.com to become a registered user and invite as many people as possible to do the same.

Transparency™ makes it possible for teachers to post homework along with any specific instructions. Students and their parents would immediately have access to the homework posted. Any child in need of help should be able to find mentors. Those who would like to step forward and help as mentors are also encouraged to login to PrimeHangout and register to assist.

We also developed a unique Library as additional resource center and would greatly appreciate donating eBooks, teaching videos, etc. to the Library. Donation of materials that can help students every step of the way can only be submitted to PrimeHangout through our Library. As mentioned earlier, if you are willing to help students one-on-one as a Mentor, do not hesitate to register as such. Nothing is required other than your willingness to meet virtually for a minimum of one hour a day or one hour a week with the student you pick based on the subject of interest to you.

We are asking the media to give us equal attention, equal coverage and equal exposure as accorded Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and for investors to check us out for possible investment. We are ready to continue to innovate, improve and grow as God would grant us the opportunity to do so. Come in and hangout with us for a rewarding experience.

2020 International Climate Action Challenge: 1,000 Eco-Initiatives in 90 Days

DENVER, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — «2020 has shown us just how interconnected we all are,» said Joan Gregerson, Founder of Green Team Academy. «Worldwide, we are dealing with the same interlocking issues of the pandemic, racial justice, environmental justice, climate change, and economic upheaval. That’s a lot to handle, but now is not the time to delay action.»

Gregerson notes that the UN Climate Conference that was originally scheduled for November 2020 has been pushed back a full year while leaders focus on the pandemic response. Meanwhile, record temperatures are being set in the Arctic and across the world. Scientists warn that every day we wait reduces our chances of getting a handle on climate change and other pressing ecological and challenges.

«We want to let people know that we don’t need to wait for our governments or institutions to lead the way. Anyone can step up and make a difference quickly, once they know how.»

Gregerson’s new book, Climate Action Challenge: A Proven Plan for Launching Your Eco-Initiative in 90 Days, provides that framework. The book distills Gregerson’s experience working with dozens of teams from around the world into a step-by-step Action Plan. The book includes stories of dozens of teams that are making a difference in cities, faith communities, neighborhoods, businesses, and schools.

To assist people in taking action, the Green Team Academy is organizing the 2020 International Climate Action Challenge. The goal is to help launch 1,000 environmental or community initiatives during the 90-day challenge period from September through November.

Registration is free and open to all between July 31 and August 31. Challengers receive training, mentorship, and support to help them achieve their goals. They can also apply to be featured in the 2020 International Climate Action Challenge Summit in December.

«Many environmental initiatives got put on hold as people stayed home and observed social distancing requirements,» says Gregerson. «Yet, our teams are finding innovative strategies to safely move ahead. They are hosting virtual workshops, building coalitions for environmental justice, starting green businesses, and organizing tree plantings and clean-ups. With a bit of extra care and ingenuity, there is no limit to the ways teams can take action, build community, and have fun doing it.»

The Challenge is being facilitated by 100 partners from around the world. Challenge ambassadors, mentors, volunteers, and sponsors from over a dozen countries are making the challenge possible.

«We are excited to be offering this opportunity for teamwork, creativity, and collaboration on a global scale,» says Gregerson. «This is an important moment in human history where what we do matters, now more than ever. We invite people to step up and join us, so together we can create the world we want.»
