MALIBU, Calif., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Plastic Oceans International, in association with ÜÑÜ, officially announces Trees & Seas, an annual festival within its BlueCommunities initiative, uniting ocean and forest conservation in over 20 locations worldwide. The inaugural event takes place August 2 – 8, 2021.

This week-long celebration is produced in partnership with EarthDay.org and One Tree Planted, all working together with the goal of bridging the divide between land and sea conservation.

«Our mission is to show that we are all connected … one planet, one ecosystem, and in the end, one global community united in an effort to foster a healthier and more equitable planet for all,» said Julie Andersen, CEO of Plastic Oceans International. «We know things will be a bit limited in scale this year, but with our safety plan, our amazing team and dedicated group of sponsors, I’m confident that this will serve as a great foundation for long-term success.»

Each year, one location will act as the primary hub of the festival, with this year’s being Chiloe Island, Chile, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of South America’s iconic Patagonia region – where One Tree Planted is providing 20,000 trees for planting.

«We’re excited to support reforestation in Patagonia as part of this positive and robust conservation initiative,» said Matt Hill, Chief Environmental Evangelist of the nonprofit One Tree Planted. «Connecting land and sea is vital for healthy habitats and engaging local communities will only further help create a lasting impact.»

In addition to Patagonia, satellite locations will include: Easter Island; Detroit, USA; Mexico City; Santiago, Chile; Douala, Cameroon; Vancouver, Canada; Durban, South Africa and many others soon to be announced.

COVID-19 contingency plans are in place to ensure that the Trees & Seas takes place at some level. If the in-person components need to be scaled back, our plan still allows for 50,000 trees to be planted worldwide, with numerous cleanups, panel discussions, youth workshops and live entertainment to still be offered – the latter three being done remotely, if required. All World Health Organization guidelines, at the time of the festival, will be followed with no exceptions.

Trees & Seas sponsors include Avocado Green Mattress, makers of eco-friendly mattresses; Natracare, suppliers of plastic-free and biodegradable menstrual products; and a variety of local companies in each event community.

Asia-Pacific to Lead Growth of the Personal Protective Equipment Market in the Wind Energy Industry by 2025

Offshore wind farms and electric power grids are expected to enhance PPE usage worldwide, says Frost & Sullivan

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis forecasts that global personal protective equipment (PPE) revenues in the wind energy industry will reach $514.6 million by 2025, up from $409.2 million in 2020, growing at a CAGR of 4.7%. The industry…

The industry growth is driven by an increase in wind farm installation and maintenance services and resultant employment opportunities, growing awareness about wind energy PPE, riskier work environments, and stringent regulatory compliances. Europe is the largest market for wind energy PPE, constituting nearly 44.4% revenue market share in 2020. However, with the expected increase in offshore and onshore farms and employment opportunities, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to have the highest growth rate and expand its revenues from $123.6 million in 2020 to $157.2 million in 2025.

Wind energy PPE includes above-the-neck, respiratory, hand, foot, and fall protection, along with protective clothing. Among these, fall protection PPE is the largest and fastest-growing product segment. It is expected to have a CAGR of 5.1% from 2020 to 2025.

For further information on this analysis, The Global PPE Market in the Wind Energy Industry is being Driven by Government Incentives and Initiatives, please visit: http://frost.ly/5ax.

«COVID-19 stalled the demand for PPE in the wind energy industry due to the temporary delay in wind farm installations. With economies expected to slowly recover and a renewed interest in environment-friendly and sustainable sources of electricity generation, the demand for PPE in the wind energy industry is expected to rise,» said Anjan Roy, Senior Research Analyst, Chemicals, Materials and Nutrition Practice, Frost & Sullivan. «Offshore wind farms and electric power grids are expected to further enhance PPE usage. Offshore wind turbines can produce more electricity, owing to the steady wind, but the construction, repair, and maintenance require more manpower than the traditional onshore wind turbine, thus driving the usage of PPE in the industry.»

Roy added: «Tax and financial incentives along with favorable renewable portfolio standards (RPS) play a critical role in driving wind energy, correspondingly increasing the PPE usage across the world. In the United States, all construction on wind energy systems started by December 31, 2020, can either receive the federal Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC) or the federal Renewable Electricity Production Tax Credit (PTC). In China, regulators approved subsidy-free projects of 11.4 GW of wind energy in 2020. And the UK has lifted its ban on subsidizing new onshore wind farms, allowing floating offshore wind projects, in a new auction scheme announced in June 2020

To expand revenue generation prospects, PPE manufacturers should explore these strategic recommendations:

  • Above-the-neck protection: Major manufacturers will grow by consolidating their positions in existing markets as well as through mergers and acquisitions in unexplored regions. The future for above-the-neck PPE lies in more customized and integrated solutions with multiple functionalities integrated into a single product. Technology will also drive the market with increasing preference for more advanced active communication ear muffs, custom-molded earplugs, protective eyewear, and smart helmets.
  • Respiratory Protection: The development of filter technology has resulted in the rising adoption of non-woven filters in respiratory protection that are expected to replace plastic filters. Increasing awareness of the ill effects of silica and the implementation of respirable crystalline silica standard (29 CFR 1926.1153) are expected to positively influence the volume demand for respiratory protection.
  • Protective Clothing: This segment is expected to be driven by reusable fire-resistant (FR) clothing because it is comparatively more cost-efficient. In addition, there is an increasing preference for inherent FR clothing over treated FR clothing because the protective capability of inherent clothing does not diminish over time, even after numerous washes.
  • Hand Protection: Product innovation and diversified product offerings will help market participants remain competitive. Technical innovation includes gloves made of high-performance polyethylene (HPPE), which offers superior grip and protection.

Cracking the Code on the Decline of the West

WAKE FOREST, N.C., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Advanced societies solve many types of problems extremely well including for science investigations, technology developments, and product engineering. However, we don’t currently solve adequately another large class of problems related to human activities, and we are getting increasingly worse at solving them. Dr. Barry Borgerson just published his first article, Our Mysterious Problem-Solving Deficiencies, in a series of 12 articles as an invited Executive Contributor for Brainz Magazine.

Dr. Klaus Schwab, founder and chair of the World Economic Forum, asserts in his book The Fourth Industrial Revolution that advanced societies are at a major technology-driven inflection point. However, he also notes we are stuck in «non-disruptive thinking» that may block us from taking advantage of these technologies. Schwab then points out that we don’t have the necessary «social models» or «institutional frameworks» to diffuse the technologies effectively. This article explains why we cannot currently manage our social models and institutional frameworks as successfully as we manage our technologies.

«The World Is Changing Before Our Eyes, and We Can’t Do Anything to Stop It,» said Nic Robertson, CNN’s international diplomatic editor (November 3, 2018). «We are watching [the growing political chaos in the West], aware of what’s happening, but without seeing a way to hold it back.» You will find out in Borgerson’s Brainz article the underlying mental nature of our growing political dysfunction. Future articles will show a way to solve chronic business and political problems and many others.

We can reverse many deteriorating activities in the West but not if we try to solve them one problem at a time. Human nature creates hidden perceptual «lenses» that cause us to have powerful realities (including assertions, assumptions, theories, certainties, «truths») «in here» (that is, in our mind) that sometimes do not correspond to realities «out there» (that is, in the world outside of our mind). These articles will model directly that elusive and often self-deceptive part of the mind, which we currently refer to indirectly in many ways including «paradigm,» «worldview,» «culture,» «weltanschauung,» the «box,» «cult,» and «status quo.»

Our automatic perceptual lenses block our increasing needs to conquer technology-caused «soft» success factors in business such as leadership development including methodical capabilities to transform counterproductive behaviors and to change cultures rapidly. This mysterious part of the mind also controls technology-enabled vulnerability to populist simplistic solutions and disinformation including Big Lies in politics. Additionally, understanding and managing the same part of the mind will create new possibilities to overcome such chronic problems as drug addictions and high prisoner recidivism.

Dr. Borgerson’s Brainz Magazine articles will enable you to learn the fundamentally elusive and illusive aspects of human nature that cause so many types of debilitating problems and to acquire a different type of capability to conquer the ones that affect you, your family, your career, your company, and even your country.

PHOENIX, Feb. 25, 2021  SinglePoint Inc. (OTC: SING) («SinglePoint» or the «Company»), a company focused on providing renewable energy solutions and energy-efficient applications to drive better health and living, announced today it has entered into a letter of intent (the «LOI») to acquire Box PureAir, LLC with established multi-state exclusive and international rights to sell AIRBOX, a high-proficiency energy-efficient air purification technology. Box PureAir has signed exclusive master distribution rights for AIRBOX.

AIRBOX products are designed, built, and certified to government standards, and meet the FDA’s enforcement policy guidelines for air purifiers during COVID-19, as well as DOE (Department of Energy) requirements, and OSHA, CDC, and ASHRAE conformance. AIRBOX is UL listed and uses only CERTIFIED HEPA filters in all its Safe Air Plan applications. As schools across the country look for ways to improve the air quality through their buildings, Box PureAir will be working to provide the safest most cost-effective solution that provides a better air quality environment to every teacher and student. To date, Box PureAir has submitted bids in excess of $50 Million to schools across Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and more.

«AIRBOX’s state-of-the-art air-purifier technology has the potential to be the solution as schools and businesses begin to reopen. With their scientifically proven air purifiers, AIRBOX is well-positioned to meet the rapidly growing demand to keep the air in facilities clean, while satisfying recommendations for clean air exchanges by the CDC and Government Authority in schools and businesses. The AIRBOX technology can move 425 cubic feet per minute through their midsize unit, the Peak Series-S, a 100% USA-made industry-leading product and will be a driving force in helping to reopen schools and businesses and provide confidence in the air quality in shared spaces,» commented Wil Ralston, President of SinglePoint. «We are pleased to have Box PureAir join the SinglePoint vision and believe AIRBOX will be a key asset in our industry-leading toolkit as we advance our leadership position in renewable energy solutions.»

The current administration has announced the idea of reopening schools in as little as 100 days. The Company believes Box PureAir can help achieve this goal as this highly proficient and versatile product is quickly deployed and capable of being plugged into any standard outlet. With solutions ranging from individual rooms to large commercial spaces, Box PureAir can quickly provide clean air in rooms through ready-to-deploy, stand-alone customizable floor units. Utilizing multi-filtration options, customers can choose their filter stack to include antimicrobial filters with Microband Technology, Carbon prefilters, or a combination. Every AIRBOX is finished with a Certified HEPA filter and tested before leaving the factory.

The AIRBOX Peak Series-S is a portable industrial-grade air purifier that uses activated carbon, antimicrobial, and Certified HEPA Filtration to provide 99.99% pure air. Additionally, it is made with the only micro-shield protection on the market. This protection is rooted in the material and makes it bacteria resistant. AIRBOX is built, and certified to government standards, and meets DOE requirements. Completing the highest quality workmanship, every Certified HEPA filter that leaves the factory is tested to meet IEST certifications, marked with performance ratings, and manufactured 100% in America.

AIRBOX’s Dynamic Room Purge Technology significantly enhances existing room ventilation systems and can be installed in minutes. The AIRBOX technology purges respiratory aerosols, including bacterial and viral pathogens, from the Breathing Zone and has been scientifically proven to remove >99.99% of all particles, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).  The Dynamic Room Purge Technology increases the air exchange rate by 2-5 times, depending on the size of the room and the number of AIRBOX Purifiers deployed, far exceeding ASHRAE air exchange requirements of standard room ventilation systems alone. AIRBOX is regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency and state governments as a pesticidal device. Accordingly, AIRBOX air purifiers are produced in an EPA-registered facility and packaged and labeled in accordance with EPA regulations under FIFRA section 2(q)(1) and 40 CFR Part 156.

The average size of a classroom is 1024 sq ft and has 10 ft ceilings. This equates to 10,240 cubic feet. The Peak Series AIRBOX is capable of ‘cleaning’ the air in this whole classroom every 24 minutes. This is important because most schools recommend a break every 50 minutes so this will ‘clean’ twice in that time. Each Peak Series unit is just 13 x 13.5 x 27.75 and uses just a fraction of energy compared to its competitors. This makes it discreet and feasible to have multiple per room to create any number of air turnovers a customer would need.

Currently, legislators are working on a bill that would provide approximately $190 Billion for reopening schools, much of which would involve solving the air quality issue that exists in schools across the country. A recent article in the Washington Post stated, 40% of school districts «need to update or replace HVAC systems in at least half of the school buildings, affecting 36,000 school buildings nationwide.» Box PureAir has options in development for retrofit solutions into current HVAC systems that will improve the existing system and provide world-class air purification at reduced costs and necessary maintenance to these systems. As schools start to look for solutions to reopen and improve air quality within classrooms, Box PureAir is providing the solution.

Massachusetts Governor, Speaker of the House, Leaders of Legislation, Medicine and Advocacy Join Forces to Lead the Nation in Recognizing Prostate Cancer as a Public Health Priority and Leading Disparity in the Times of the COVID-19 Pandemic

BOSTON, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — AdMeTech Foundation in cooperation with Senate President Pro Tempore William N. Brownsberger, House Majority Leader Claire Cronin and Representative Gerald Cassidy will host the 12th Annual Prostate Cancer Awareness Day. This virtual event will feature Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Speaker of the House Ronald Mariano, Senate Majority Leader Cynthia Creem, Senate Majority Whip Mike Rush, and members of the Black and Latino Caucus, including Representatives Carlos Gonzalez, Jon Santiago and Bud Williams, other leaders of legislature, medicine, advocacy and community organizations.

This annual event has been critical for setting up a historic precedent by the Massachusetts General Court when it has recognized prostate cancer as a public health priority and a leading health disparity in Black (including Hispanic) men since 2011.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the areas of prostate cancer disparities overlap with «hot spots» of the pandemic. Prostate cancer and COVID-19 have emerged as leading disparities. Legislators, advocates and prostate cancer survivors will discuss the impact of these diseases on our families and health care costs. Leading physicians will review the best emerging options in patient care, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

AdMeTech Foundation organized this event in cooperation with Prostate Cancer Action Council, including American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Center for Elimination of Health and Social Inequities and Disparities, Community Health Awareness Program, the Latino Health Insurance Program, Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition, Men of Color Health Awareness, and New England Area Conference of NAACP.

Sponsors include mIR Scientific, Janssen JnJ, Pfizer, Sanofi Genzyme, Progenics Lantheus, and Sotio Pharmaceuticals.
