MANCHESTER, N.H., Feb. 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — MANCHESTER-BOSTON REGIONAL AIRPORT («MHT») and Aeroterm have announced that they have entered into a ground lease to develop a multitenant cargo facility at the Airport over the next three years.

The new building will provide a convenient access point for cargo companies to reach all areas in Northern New England as well as northern Massachusetts and the Greater Boston Area. Aeroterm, MHT’s partner in the project, is an expert in facility-related services to airports across North America and has a reputation for understanding the air cargo market and building efficient cargo facilities.

Kitchens said that MHT has had two back-to-back record-breaking years of cargo volumes and hopes to increase this even more through the partnership with Aeroterm.

The ground lease can support up to a 100,000 square foot building and three widebody aircraft parking positions. The facility will be located just off the 9,250-foot primary runway for easy access. The Airport is conveniently located next to Interstates 93 and 293, the F.E. Everett Turnpike and Routes 101 and 3, creating a great opportunity for transportation of cargo to the surrounding area.

NEW YORK, Feb. 9, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — SpinCar, the global leader in digital automotive merchandising software and data, and IHS Markit, a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, announced today the results of a six-month study aimed at measuring the impact of digital merchandising for automotive dealers. The Digital Merchandising Impact Study examined the relationship between shopper behaviors on dealer websites and vehicle purchase rates. For the study, SpinCar analyzed digital merchandising engagement behaviors and vehicle purchases of 4 million consumers who visited more than 200 dealer websites from July through November 2020. Polk Automotive Solutions by IHS Markit provided vehicle purchase analysis that was used in the study.

«For years, automotive dealers, OEMs and software providers have been trying to clearly understand the relationship between the online shopper experience and vehicle purchase,» said Joe Kyriakoza, Vice President and General Manager, Polk Automotive Solutions by IHS Markit. «The release of this study represents a key milestone in the auto industry by providing empirical evidence that validates the importance of effective digital merchandising. Key findings from the study include:

  • The level of shopper engagement with merchandising tools on a dealer website is a strong indicator of propensity to purchase. Shoppers exhibiting the highest levels of engagement purchased vehicles at more than 2x the rate of unengaged shoppers, while even moderately engaged or somewhat engaged shoppers purchased at measurably higher rates (50% and 10% higher, respectively) than unengaged shoppers.
  • Shopper engagement with specific merchandising tools correlates with higher vehicle purchase rates. Shoppers who engaged with vehicle photos on a dealer’s website purchased at a 45% higher rate than unengaged shoppers, while those who also engaged with 360° walkarounds purchased at a 64% higher rate. Shoppers who demonstrated even greater interest by exploring specific vehicle features or F&I products on a dealer’s website purchased at even higher rates (128% and 134% higher, respectively).
  • Vehicle buyers demonstrate significantly higher online merchandising engagement levels than non-buyers. Buyers who purchased from a competing dealership clicked on 70% to 80% more photos, 360° walkarounds and features than non-buyers, while buyers who visited a dealer website and then purchased from that particular dealership clicked on 3 – 5x as many photos, 360° walkarounds and features vs website visitors who did not make a purchase.

GEORGETOWN, Ontario, Feb. 9, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Flodraulic, a multi-dimensional fluid power company, recently announced the launch of its Archimedes Precision Spreader, a next generation precision snow plow and salter. Working with the University of Guelph, the Town of Halton Hills, and the City of Guelph, Flodraulic has redesigned salt management to accurately measure the salt applied on roadways in real-time.

Unlike current road salters, the Archimedes Precision Spreader uses a LiDAR-based sensor array to measure the salt applied on roadways. This sensor data is then instantaneously fed back into the control system to dynamically control salt application rates to be as precise as possible. This solution can also detect over-salting, under-salting, as well as blockages.

In tandem, Flodraulic also developed a cloud-based command structure and web center that can assign salt application rates to specific GPS coordinates. This solution allows operations teams to dynamically raise and lower salt requirements at any location based on weather, risk, and environmentally sensitive areas. The role of salt adjustment has always been solely the responsibility of the operators, who need to navigate dangerous roadways while simultaneously plowing snow.

Through Ontario’s Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (AVIN), led by the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), Flodraulic received support to commercialize this advanced R&D, which otherwise may not have been possible.

Natural waterways and wetlands are being salinized at alarming rates from winter road salt application. With this solution salinization can be cut by up to two thirds, in turn helping to preserve wildlife and maintain drinking water supply.

These advanced salt controls have the potential to allow for more accurate municipality salt usage. The University of Guelph has run tests and determined some salt trucks use more salt than necessary on roadways. This is often attributed to combating blockages, erring on the side of caution, or proactive applications from weather forecasts. The closed-loop control technology in these new trucks with the Archimedes Precision Spreader will automatically respond to blockages for the operator and will recommend an application of salt that will use less salt than current trucks on the road while maintaining the same level of public safety.
