MYSTIC, Conn., Dec. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Today, Bookwell Travel is commencing its mission of donating 4 million meals to food banks across America by the end of 2021. Bookwell Travel is donating 82,500 meals to food banks in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey, to be dropped off at select food banks throughout the day.

Bookwell Travel is a first-class booking and trip planning platform that gives travelers the opportunity to not only experience one-of-a kind travel destinations, but also make a difference in the lives of others. For every booking, Bookwell Travel will donate 10 meals to the hungry directly to one of over 370 food banks located throughout North America. Bookwell Travel donates directly to food banks to ensure 100% of each donation goes toward creating meals for those in need. Bookwell Travel will be launching in the coming days, however it is beginning its mission to feed the less fortunate this holiday season.

«This has been a problem that we have seen firsthand in the U.S. Once the pandemic hit, our food banks were stretched to capacity,» said Brian Gates, founder of Bookwell Travel. «We are hotel owners, food distributors, and hospitality managers who have come together and decided to do more than support our local food bank. Our mission is to deliver over 4 million meals to hungry mouths across America by the end of 2021.»

As a first step, Bookwell Travel will be delivering over 80,000 meals to food banks from Maine to New Jersey on Tuesday, December 15th and Wednesday, December 16th. The Rhode Island Community Food Bank at 200 Niantic Ave. in Providence, will be receiving their donations at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16th.

Bookwell Travel is launching alongside a partnership with Booking.com, which will bring Booking.com’s expansive network of 29 million hotel and hospitality opportunities to support Bookwell Travel in its mission to provide incredible travel experiences while supporting the hungry. Once the Bookwell Travel platform is online and is directly integrated with Booking.com’s network of properties, it will provide travelers with a vast array of high-quality hospitality experiences. All bookings made through Bookwell Travel come without hidden fees or charges.

«80% of the meals we are donating today are breakfast foods. When the Coronavirus shut down schools, kids began going without the most important meal of the day,» said Gates. «I couldn’t think of anything better than starting Bookwell Travel’s mission to deliver 4 million meals over the next year than with breakfast.»

In addition to the Booking.com partnership, Bookwell Travel is beginning its mission alongside eviivo, the all-in-one booking software that will power Bookwell Travel. eviivo is currently providing their own support for the hungry through the Hospitality Ending Hunger program. WESTMINSTER, Colo., Dec. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The Kiosk Manufacturer Association (KMA), the leading unattended self-service kiosk association established in 1995, today announced the launch of new initiatives in the PCI Compliance space for unattended self-service kiosks. Those initiatives include providing content for the PCI Perspectives Blog, creating a SIG or Special Interest Group on PCI SSC for unattended and semi-attended transaction, as well as new guidepost content from our sponsors and members outlining best practices.

The kiosk association has a standing PCI Compliance committee and a Slack-based working group (free to join). Members include OTI Global, Unattended Card Payments (UCP)Datacap SystemsIngenicoKioWareOlea Kiosks, Lilitab and Self-Service Networks who provide Cash2Card Giftwise.

«The pandemic is fundamentally altering the relationship that business and customer have had historically. Rather than the conventional ‘push’ from storefront to customer, the ratio of customers ‘pulling’ from business is rapidly increasing. Online mechanisms are no longer optional but instead, mandatory,» says association spokesman, Craig Keefner. «Contactless and touchless are the new cornerstones. Shortening those transaction timeframes whether Drive-Thru or Text-to-pay are the new base metrics.»

The pandemic impact on the currencies and payment methods involved in today’s secure transaction has also expanded. Cash2Card deployments are rising and instead of the old Redbox DVDs at McDonalds you may soon have a new Bitcoin ATM Kiosks.

Technologies emerging and in-use include conversational artificial intelligence (AI) and all types of visual recognition systems (automobile license and facial examples given).

ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland, Dec. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Steele Honda, a dealership located in St. John’s, has recently uploaded a video to their Facebook page that shows customers the latest safety precautions and procedures at the dealership. This video, titled «Steele Honda COVID-19 Update,» is to help give drivers in the area an idea of what Steele Honda has changed in their facilities since the start of the pandemic. Many businesses have had to adjust to new procedures, and Steele Honda is proud to show its community how it has adapted.

At the start of the video, customers can see that the dealership has touch-free doors that can open automatically. Following that entrance, there is a hand-sanitizer station installed by the door, along with a second bottle of hand-sanitizer located at the front desk. The video also states that there are hand-sanitizer stations located throughout the building. Keeping hands disinfected is one important action that both guests and employees are encouraged to do at the dealership.

Drivers will also see that the front desk is entirely surrounded by a transparent barrier, either plastic or glass, that can help prevent the spread of airborne viruses between guests and front-desk workers. Physical barriers along with social distancing practices help ensure a safer environment. The chairs in the lobby are spaced at least six feet apart to help customers’ social distance as they wait for service.

Furthermore, the dealership tells customers that waiting areas and high-touch areas throughout the facilities are properly sanitized. The video shows a man spraying down one of the plastic waiting-room chairs with disinfectant. The dealership also asks guests to stay away for at least fourteen days if they are sick or have been in contact with a sick person. Pickup and drop-off services are available for guests who would like to stay out of dealership facilities. Customers can learn more about the dealership and find contact information on its website, steelehonda.com.

Test to Release for International Travel goes live

PR Newswire

LONDON, 15 December 2020 /PRNewswire Policy/ —

Transport Secretary announces launch of COVID-19 testing strategy for international arrivals.

Passengers arriving into England from today (15 December 2020) will be able to choose to pay for a private test and potentially shorten their self-isolation as the government’s testing strategy for international arrivals goes live.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has announced that passengers arriving from locations not featured on the government’s travel corridor list can, from today, take a private test 5 full days after leaving the non-exempt place in order to release themselves from self-isolation on receipt of a negative result.

Available as an option for all passengers arriving into England by plane, ferry or train who have been in a ‘non-exempt’ location in the past 10 days, the move will ensure that passengers who receive a negative result on or after day 5 can immediately finish self-isolation, but must continue following the current domestic rules in their local area.

The move will give passengers the confidence to book international trips in the knowledge that they can return home and isolate for a shorter period if they receive a negative result.

With those opting into the scheme having to book and pay for a COVID-19 test from a private provider on the GOV.UK list, the government is ensuring NHS Test and Trace testing capacity is protected.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said:

«I’m determined that, when people travel here from abroad, everyone remains safe. The introduction of this day 5 Test to Release scheme is a helpful step in the right direction. It means less time in quarantine, but only in return for a negative COVID test. Good news for those travelling and good news for the wider public too.»

International arrivals must wait for 5 full days since leaving a location not on the government’s travel corridor list before taking a test from a private provider. This is because a test after 5 days of self-isolation provides materially better results than having one on arrival, as it allows time for the virus – should it be present – to incubate, helping reduce the risk of a false negative result.

Ensuring that passengers can travel safely has been one of the priorities of the Global Taskforce. It has brought together a host of experts across all modes to kick-start international travel.

Collinson CEO, David Evans said:

«Test to Release is a good scheme that we are proud to be delivering to ensure we can support the aviation sector to open up travel in a safe way.»

The new testing strategy being rolled out today will be a critical way of achieving this, while also continuing to safeguard public health in the UK. United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) accreditation will also become mandatory for all providers offering commercial COVID-19 testing services in England on 1 January 2021.

COVID-19 has profoundly changed the nature of international travel. Travellers should make sure they check the latest travel advice from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Therefore, the demand from the agriculture and forestry industry is expected to boost the demand for geared motors during the forecast period.

Key Drivers and Trends fueling Market Growth:

  • Emergence of Magnetic Gearboxes
  • Increasing Wind Power Installations
  • Infrastructural Development in Emerging Countries
  • Rise in Automation Expenditure

Geared Motors Market – Geography

APAC accounts for the highest share of the global geared market in 2020 and is expected to grow at a significant rate further. The major factors driving the demand for geared motors in the region are rapid urbanization and industrialization in the region. The presence of some developed countries, along with some other fastest-growing countries, demand for geared motor from all end-user industries contributes to the demand for geared motors.  Owing to continuous automation in the industrial sector in several APAC countries, activities such as manufacturing, construction, and power generation, and mining are significantly increasing. Moreover, investment and expansion in emerging nations in APAC are some of the key strategies of several vendors. Hence, as a result, the sales of geared motors in the region are expected to rise during the forecast period further.

Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn was established nearly 100 years ago, but its operators, Deetjen’s Big Sur Inn Preservation Foundation, will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2021. The rustic, hand-crafted quality of the Inn and its old-world ambience match beautifully with the unique, timeless qualities found throughout Big Sur. The Inn also plans to reconstruct two cabin rooms that were destroyed from redwood trees that fell down during storms. A historic carpenter is creating the cabins to ensure they reflect the rest of the property and is using the same redwood trees that destroyed them. The Inn, which reopened its doors in December after a closure due to the pandemic, plans to reopen its popular dining room later next year.
