SINGAPORE, Oct. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Sojern, a provider of digital marketing solutions for travel, today announced its Co-Op Marketing Program designed to help Destination Marketing Organisations (DMOs) drive traveller demand in Asia Pacific. The program, which first launched in North America in September 2019, is also expanding in scope. Marketers at DMOs and their partner organizations can now reach customers directly with multichannel digital advertising across video, display, native, Facebook and Instagram.

Logo, no tagline

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a massive impact on travel and tourism. This program enables collaboration on digital marketing campaigns between the DMOs, hotels and attractions, to support market recovery together. Sojern’s Co-Op Program can be customised to meet each participant’s specific goals, whether that be generating awareness for a destination or driving incremental visitation. Regardless of the campaign objective, Sojern will find travellers and influence them to visit the hotel, attraction or destination, wherever they are online.

Early adopter, Venessa Chen, Regional Consumer Marketing Manager, Asia at Tourism New Zealand, said, «What sets Sojern apart from other display channels is its strong remarketing capabilities to drive conversions. During tactical campaigns, Sojern effectively remarkets to our audience, pulls them down the purchase funnel and delivers the highest conversions for us and our airline partners.«

«We know when someone is looking to travel and can influence them. We’ve delivered over €11B in bookings for 10,000+ global travel brands including destinations, attractions, hotels, airlines, cruise operators, and more. In this program for co-op marketing, we have removed the operational complexity of executing and measuring joint branding and performance campaigns and provide discounted media to co-op participants. Now, you can boost local tourism with our all-in-one advertising and analytics package,» said Chris Blaine, VP of APAC & EMEA at Sojern.

Earlier this year, Sojern was nominated by UNWTO as a semi-finalist for its ‘Healing Solutions for Tourism’ award.

SHERWOOD PARK, Alberta, Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Today, Monday October 5, 2020, Sherwood Ford and OilersNation are kicking off their annual Giant Thanksgiving Food Drive. These two local companies run this annual event to collect and donate supplies to local food banks in the Edmonton area. Located in Sherwood Park near Edmonton, Sherwood Ford is a community-involved dealership which hosts events like this one every year.

This year, food donations are especially needed by the community. According to the Food Banks Canada’s 2020 Annual Report, both volunteers and food donations have seen a recent decline. The decline in donations can put a strain on the food bank’s capability to provide for the community.

To collect donations, Sherwood Ford and OilersNation are enlisting the help of three local schools. Two of these schools are Edmonton public schools, Harry Ainlay High School and M.E. LaZerte School. The third school is Lakeland Ridge School in Sherwood Park. Donations from students will be collected at these locations to support local food banks.

Members of the community who would like to support their local food banks are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to Sherwood Ford. Non-perishable food items can include packaged or canned goods. Sherwood Ford is located at 2540 Broadmoor Boulevard in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Donations can also be brought to Sobey’s Belmont, located at 13504 Victoria Trail NW in Edmonton, Alberta. Donations can be made now through October 29, 2020, and everyone is encouraged to participate.

For those individuals who would rather make a cash donation, Strathcona Food Bank and Edmonton Food Bank are accepting monetary donations on their websites. Community members can go to strathconafoodbank.ca/donate or edmontonsfoodbank.com/donate-now to make their donations.

THURSTON COUNTY, Wash., Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — School is not the same this fall. Remote learning has parents and caretakers seeking resources for educational entertainment. In Washington state, this new reality inspired a program that brings in-person and virtual education to the community.

«Taking School on the Road» offers book lists, videos and itineraries in monthly themes from natural history to food systems to physical education.

Experience Olympia & Beyond, the destination marketing organization for Thurston County, is partnering with local bookstores, attractions, food and beverage outlets and others in the Road School program.

«Hands-on learning is a nice break from the Zoom calls and screen time we’re all too familiar with,» said Shauna Stewart, CEO, Experience Olympia & Beyond. «Road School is a fun way to experience and better understand the outstanding places in our community.»

The Road School program has three main elements—Read, Watch and Go.

  • Read: Local bookstores’ recommended reading for children and adults.
  • Watch: Videos feature experts demonstrating processes or providing insights to local attractions.
  • Go: Detailed itineraries help families and visitors experience the month’s theme in the community.

Each monthly theme also includes a downloadable coloring page.

Initial Road School topics include natural history, food systems, art and culture, and physical education.

For example, October’s focus on natural history (fish and birds) includes books about salmon, a video about a local park’s saltwater intertidal zone, and the best places for birdwatching.

The edu-tourism effort isn’t just for families with kids. Adults will have a deeper appreciation for their favorite coffee or local public art after seeing videos or reading books about them.

Road School information lives on the Experience Olympia website. Curricula in the coming months will be available for future discovery.

«Our hope is this program will encourage students of all ages to love learning while making meaningful memories in the area. Fun and real life experiences are some of the best ways to do both,» Stewart said.

Oddsmakers Faced With Fluid NFL Schedule Ahead of Week 5, According to TheLines.com

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — NFL bettors received a reminder just how quickly a pandemic can alter the sports landscape. LAS VEGAS, Oct. 5, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — NFL bettors received a reminder just how quickly a pandemic can alter the sports landscape. Two COVID-19-related postponements made for a lighter Sunday schedule and the effects will reverberate into Week 5, according to analysts for TheLines, which tracks odds in the U.S. regulated sports betting markets.

In the last week, the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans was postponed, and the highly anticipated showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots was pushed back to tonight after Cam Newton tested positive. That leaves active rosters in flux for at least two teams — the Titans and the Patriots — and puts Week 5’s game between the Titans and Bills very much in doubt.

The questions about the schedule, coupled with a murkier view of who will be on some active rosters should the games go ahead, have made the oddsmakers’ jobs that much more difficult. As of Monday morning, the Bills-Titans game is off the board at most sportsbooks, and at least four other games have incomplete odds while we await the results of Monday night’s games.

«The first few weeks in the NFL went so well, it would have been easy to forget that a single positive test can send waves through the schedule,» said Brett Collson, lead analyst for TheLines.com. «Oddsmakers are accustomed to factoring in injuries, but both bettors and oddsmakers are dealing with an extremely fluid situation where active rosters and schedules can change in a flash. So far, it appears that hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm for bettors overall.»

As for this week’s games, a consensus of the nation’s largest legal online sportsbooks — including FanDuel, DraftKings, PointsBet, SugarHouse, and BetMGM — place the Baltimore Ravens as 13.5-point favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals, the week’s heaviest favorite. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles upset of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night hasn’t swayed oddsmakers, as the 49ers open the week as 7.5-point favorites over the Miami Dolphins while the Eagles are 7.5-point underdogs to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The consensus point spreads for Week 5 games, as of Monday, Oct. 5:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-5.5) at Chicago Bears; over/under 44.5
  • Arizona Cardinals (-6.5) at New York Jets; over/under 47.5
  • Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons (-3.5); over/under N/A
  • Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-13.5); over/under 52
  • Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans (N/A); over/under N/A
  • Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans (-6.5); over/under 54
  • Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-11.5); over/under N/A
  • Los Angeles Rams (-8.5) at Washington Football Team; over/under 46
  • Philadelphia Eagles at Pittsburgh Steelers (-7.5); over/under 46.5
  • Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers (-7.5); over/under N/A
  • Denver Broncos at New England Patriots (N/A); over/under N/A
  • Indianapolis Colts (-2.5) at Cleveland Browns; over/under 48
  • New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys (-9.5); over/under 54
  • Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks (-7); over/under 57.5
  • Los Angeles Chargers at New Orleans Saints (-8.5); over/under 52

«First opened in 1944, Harveys Lake Tahoe is an iconic resort on the South Shore and continues to offer enhanced amenities for guests to enjoy, including the newly redesigned rooms,» said John Koster, senior vice president and general manager for Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe. «The completion of this major investment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to elevating guest experiences at our resorts and advancing the Lake Tahoe tourism economy.»

According to Las Vegas-based architect and designer DEZMOTIF Studios, the renovated Tahoe Tower rooms at Harveys provide guests with a comfortable, relaxing environment with a fresh and modern appeal. Inspired by nature and the seasons, the new rooms feature a spacious layout with the use of natural textures in a warm, neutral palette. Wood accents are contrasted by linen textures throughout the room. Additionally, the plush carpeting in a deep blue chevron pattern is reminiscent of the stunning lake waters, creating a sense of calmness to the space.

The redesigned bathroom provides the highest level of amenities for modern travelers, with neutral walls contrasted by dark quartz and dark metal accents that create a timeless and clean atmosphere. Guests may also unwind in a comfortable room setting with tailored, modern furnishings and finishes. Additional highlights include power charging ports and a flat-screen TV.

The plush custom platform bed features a two-tone headboard with tailored stitching details.  Across from the bed, a combination desk-dresser unit offers ample work space, task lighting, and storage drawers. Finally, the sitting area near the windows allows guests to sit and enjoy the stunning mountain or lake views.

Another recent major capital investment at Harveys included the opening of the beautiful and iconic Gordon Ramsay HELL’S KITCHEN Lake Tahoe this past winter, located in the middle of the action on Harveys main casino floor.
