Alcantara Publishes Its 11th Annual Sustainability Report

The first company in Italy and one of the first automotive suppliers in the world to be certified as Carbon Neutral in 2009, Alcantara achieved carbon neutrality last year for the eleventh year in a row.

Last year Alcantara also participated in three major projects supported by the United Nations in Bangladesh, Mauritania and South Korea to offset nearly 36,000 tons of CO2 emissions that could not be eliminated with current state-of-the-art technology.

In the past 10 years,  Alcantara has taken part in more than 40 international offset projects in 20 different countries around the world. The projects were designed to improve living conditions and expand the use of renewable energy resources.

Alcantara also continues to emphasize the importance of sustainability with its suppliers, encouraging them to measure, reduce and compensate for CO2 emissions.  In fact, the company’s 2020 Sustainability Report notes that all of its «core» and «super core» suppliers achieved zero CO2 emission balances last year.

Hyde Hotel & Residences Mazatlán is scheduled to break ground in late 2021 and will open in late 2023, Dakota Development will provide all design and technical insight for the expansive 75,277 square-foot waterfront property with 300 feet of private beach access. Offering a range of accommodation options for leisure guests and business travelers, the hotel will boast 150 guestrooms, including 22 suites. Capability and Confidence
The 2022 Outlander rides on a next-generation platform developed through its partnership in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The newly engineered platform offers a stable foundation for a more confident and comfortable driving experience. With hot stamped ultra-high tensile-strength steel used in key areas, torsional rigidity is increased by 33% over the previous model.

Powering the all-new Outlander is a newly developed 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Sport mode. Fuel economy for this all-new vehicle is 24/31/27 (city/highway/combined) for 2WD models and 24/30/26 for all-wheel drive models.6

Mitsubishi’s motorsport-derived Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)2 all-wheel drive system can be added to any 2022 Outlander trim level for an additional $1,800. This optional system provides drivers with six drive modes to adjust the electronically-controlled 4WD system, allowing drivers to feel more confident in all road conditions. Working in partnership with PlazaCorp Realty Advisors and Dora Hotel Company, REVERB by Hard Rock Kalamazoo is expected to be built on the renowned Gibson Mandolin-Guitar Manufacturing Company site, keeping a keen eye on maintaining the historic parts of the property.

In the first half of 2021, the brand will open the new showrooms, called Polestar Spaces, in Austin, Texas, Boston, Denver, Seattle, South Florida and Washington D.C. Polestar will partner with established retailer groups in order to best represent the brand in each location for sales and service. 

With at-home test drives already available, the first of the new retail Spaces will open by early spring in Austin, Texas, Boston and Denver.
