These mining machines are deployed and in operation in Xinjiang, with an aggregate computing power of 113 PH/s. The Company today has paid the total consideration in full, and the Seller has transferred ownership of all the mining machines. As of today, the Company has officially begun generating revenue from cryptocurrency mining operations.

On January 11, 2021, the Company announced its purchase of mining machines with an aggregate computing power of 918 PH/s. These mining machines are expected to be deployed by the end of March 2021.

On February 2, 2021 the Company announced its purchase of 5,900 new mining machines with an aggregate computing power of 306 PH/s. These mining machines are expected to be deployed by the end of May 2021.

As such, the Company expects to have Bitcoin mining machines with an aggregate computing power of 1,337 PH/s by the end of the first half of 2021.

Purchase of Ethereum (ETH) Mining Machines

At the same time, the Company announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement (the «Agreement») to purchase 2,000 new ETH mining machines for a total consideration of RMB195 million (approximately US$30.2 million). Pursuant to the Agreement, a total of 100 ETH  mining machines are to be delivered during May — June 2021, a total of 300 ETH mining machines are to be delivered during July — August 2021 ( 150 mining machines per month), and the remaining 1,600 ETH mining machines are to be delivered during September — December 2021 ( 400 mining machines per month).

These ETH mining machines purchased by the Company have an energy consumption ratio less than 1 MH/W. These mining machines feature ASICs developed on SeDRAM, a heterogeneous, integrated embedded DRAM platform. This ASIC utilizes hybrid bonding technology to combine ETH computing power and DRAM memory. Unlike traditional mining machines, which separate computing from memory chips, these new ETH mining machines have better on-chip bandwidth capacity, transmission efficiency, and mining efficiency with lower power consumption. Each mining machine has peak consumption of only 2400W, but generates computing power of up to 2.4 GH/s.

According to current ETH computing power estimates, these ETH mining machines’ total computing power of 4,800 GH/s is expected to represent 1.23% of the total computing power of the entire ETH network and is expected to yield a maximum of 330 ETH per day.

PlayColorado.com: Record $325 Million Handle in January Puts Colorado Sportsbooks on Path to $3 Billion

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Colorado crossed another impressive threshold in January, becoming the sixth state in U.S. history to take in more than $300 million in legal sports bets in a single month. LAS VEGAS, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Colorado crossed another impressive threshold in January, becoming the sixth state in U.S. history to take in more than $300 million in legal sports bets in a single month. With the strong start, Colorado’s retail and online sportsbooks have  the potential to take in more than $3 billion in wagers this year, according to PlayColorado, which provides news and analysis of the state’s gaming industry.

«What’s really stuck out is just how relentless Colorado’s growth has been,» said Jessica Welman, analyst for PlayColorado.com. «Every month we get new data. Every month sportsbooks set a new state record. There has been no letup regardless of what has happened with sports schedules during this pandemic. Growth is the rule in just about every legal jurisdiction, but none have had such a long, consistent upward trajectory.»

Colorado’s online and retail sportsbooks generated a record $326.9 million in bets in January, according to data released Thursday by the Colorado Department of Revenue’s Division of Gaming. That was up 14.9% from $284.6 million in December. In every month since Colorado launched sports betting in May 2020 the state has set a fresh handle record.

Gross gaming revenue, which has not grown quite as consistently, set a fresh record in January. Sportsbooks won $22.7 million, up from $17.2 million in December and topping the previous record of $18.4 million set in November. January’s gross gaming revenue yielded $11.7 million in net sports betting proceeds, up from $5.7 million in November. That produced $1.2 million in state taxes in December.

The opening month of 2021, in addition to the $31.2 million handle sportsbooks generated on the Super Bowl, could be the beginning of a year that could bring in $3 billion in wagering, $200 million in gross gaming revenue, and more than $6 million in state tax revenue, according to PlayColorado projections.

«With a tax rate on sports betting that is lower than in most legal states, Colorado is counting on market growth to get to a point where it is a reliable revenue generator for the state,» said Ian St. Clair, analyst for PlayColorado.com. «That growth is coming more quickly than was projected last May, when we didn’t even know when major sports would return.»

Currently the sixth-largest market in terms of handle — behind No. 5 Indiana, which generated $348.2 million in January — no state has evolved quite like Colorado.

Like any legal jurisdiction, the NFL playoffs drew major interest in January, generating $75 million in bets on pro football. But the NBA, which enjoyed its first full month of the 2020-21 season, fueled $88.4 million on pro basketball. And college basketball generated another $39.9 million. But continued interest in sports outside the mainstream, most notably table tennis, has made Colorado unique among U.S. markets. With $11.8 million in January bets, table tennis has now generated $78.3 million in bets since May 1.

«To put the popularity of table tennis into perspective, it accounts for a similar percentage of Colorado’s handle as hockey does in most other states,» Welman said. «In no other state is there a relatively obscure sport that commands so much attention. Amazingly, it continues to be an important piece to the success of the state’s industry, and there is no sense yet that interest is waning.»

BorgWarner Donates $1,025,000 to Kettering University to Establish Scholars Program and Other Initiatives to Support Opportunities for Minorities

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — BorgWarner is taking further action in its commitment to diversity through a donation of $925,000 for scholarships for Kettering University students. The BorgWarner Scholars Program will aim to distribute annual scholarships to students in financial need, with a primary focus on African American and Hispanic students who have an interest in participating in an engineering co-op at BorgWarner.

Kettering University and BorgWarner will work together to identify students in underserved communities through various recruitment efforts. Through the endowment, Kettering University will be able to award scholarships – with nearly $40,000 earmarked annually. Students will be on-site, full time at BorgWarner during their paid co-op rotations which start freshmen year. During these rotations, students will gain over two years of real-world experience working alongside BorgWarner engineers and mentors, gaining skills to support and supplement their schoolwork and eventual transition into salaried, full-time employment.

Separately, BorgWarner donated $100,000 to support a new Kettering University initiative and help expand it to more corporate sponsors.

«At BorgWarner, we’re dedicated to cultivating a diverse workforce and in order to do so, we need to take action at the student level and help talented, bright, diverse minds overcome the barriers they are facing,» said Felecia Pryor, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, BorgWarner Inc. «We relate well with Kettering University’s commitment to education that embodies technology and innovation and believe this endowment will be truly successful in opening doors and creating opportunities for students in the field who are most in need.»

Though science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) employment is surging, African American and Hispanic professionals are significantly under-represented in the field. This is in-part because many underrepresented students lack the resources and vision to realize STEM success is achievable for them. Kettering University is working with BorgWarner, among other industry partners, to provide gateway opportunities that foster and promote curiosity, provide and leverage educational resources and focus on career transition into STEM fields for the long-term.

«We are grateful to BorgWarner for investing in experiential, as well as financial, opportunities for students,» said Sue Davies, Vice President of University Advancement and External Relations at Kettering. «The impact this, coupled with our unique Co-op and educational experience, will have on these students immediately prepares them to be innovators and leaders in STEM industries around the world. I’m most excited about how this will complement and further enhance our existing Office of Multicultural Students Initiatives (OMSI) which provides tutoring, mentorship and other support services to ensure our students’ success.»

BorgWarner presented the $1,025,000 check to Kettering University on February 25, fortifying the partnership.

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Designed by nationally recognized hospitality design firm HBG Design, the stunning, new four-diamond $180 million hotel expansion at Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks, Ca. opened to guests in late 2020. Owned and operated by Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation and located just fifty miles northwest of Sacramento, the resort is one of Northern California’s largest upscale resort destinations.

The new 450,000 SF, 459-room resort hotel is ensconced by the Capay Valley’s gently rolling hills, continuous rows of leafy orchards, sprawling farms and vineyards, where the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation also produces its own wines, olive oil, honey, almonds and other agricultural products.

«Architecturally, the exterior design fits seamlessly within its idyllic setting and is a fresh take on the California Mission-style aesthetic reflected in the four-diamond resort property,» says Nathan Peak, AIA, Design Director at HBG Design.

HBG Design’s ‘Plentiful Valley/Fertile Ground’ interior design concept springs to life inside, inspired by characteristics of the Capay Valley that are experienced during the four distinct seasons.

«Interiors draw heavily from the region’s agrarian landscape using organic and textural materials and patterns to connect the new resort hotel to the heart of the valley and its abundant agriculture,» says Emily Marshall, IIDA, Interior Design Director at HBG Design. «The guest experience relates beautifully to the region’s unique sense of place.»

The vibrant lobby bar/lounge incorporates maroon hues accented by honey golden tones and frenzied hive patterns recalling the honeybee and its agricultural significance to the valley. The Enso Sushi bar blends almond blossom inspired color and texture with natural wood grain and organic cork and bamboo. The C2 Steak & Seafood restaurant’s rich custom millwork and dramatic glass globe pendant light wall emulate the bounty of the valley’s wine country and cattle farms.

«The hotel tower and function spaces have been sited to amplify the limitless views over the valley,» says Peak. Cache Creek has raised the bar dramatically on guest amenity offerings with the upscale resort expansion. Guestrooms and suites offer panoramic views, while the glamourous two-story Presidential Suite offers a private media/theater room, private spa and fitness room. «There is nothing in the region quite like it,» adds Marshall. New entertainment and event amenities, a landscaped resort pool environment and a new full-service luxury spa complete the phased expansion.

We are proud to debut a new, modern luxury inspired design for Spa Ojai and the Spa Penthouse Suites. We look forward to welcoming guests back to the resort to experience the Inn’s warm hospitality amidst these reimagined settings.»

Relax, Renew, Repeat: Spa Ojai Debuts New Look & Renewed Focus on Sustainability

Spa Ojai, the award-winning 31,000 square-foot spa, is at the epicenter of Ojai Valley Inn’s renovation. Spa Ojai’s new look spans all twenty-four treatment rooms, public spaces and two luxurious penthouse guest suites. Additionally, the spa introduces impactful therapies and sustainability initiatives from the hotel’s Director of Wellness & Sustainability, with guest touchpoints that chart new territory in the luxury spa space.

Spa Ojai introduces a new, technology and sustainability-forward design for a world-class spa experience in the heart of Southern California’s wellness mecca.  Guests at the new Spa Ojai will pass through a tranquil courtyard with a running fountain before entering the iconic spa. Once indoors, visitors will find new luxury lockers, new flooring, tiling, and lighting throughout the space for a relaxing, peaceful environment. New vanity stations and additional shower space also contribute to the enhanced experience, as well as a dedicated quiet room on the women’s side and a new cold plunge on the men’s side. Guests will also be able to enjoy a newly expanded serenity lounge upstairs, with soft, cozy-chic furnishings to complement the warmth of the space.

«The enhancements introduced at Spa Ojai will offer our guests an inviting, seamless and private spa experience, from the moment they step foot on property,» says Kate Morrison, Ojai Valley Inn’s Director of Sustainability and Wellness. «Over the course of the past year, we have been focused on making physical updates to our iconic spa to enhance the overall Spa Ojai experience with the latest in technology and design, from locker room enhancements to infrared saunas and outdoor showers.»

The spa was given a fresh look with the help of LA design firm Amber Interiors, who furnished the entire space to look and feel like the firm’s well-known laid-back California aesthetic.

Beginning today, Spa Ojai will also reintroduce its signature Kuyam experience for individuals and small, private groups. The Kuyam, a Chumash Native American Indian word meaning «a place to rest together,» is a unique detoxifying experience that combines therapeutic, self-applied desert clay with essential oils; intense dry heat; and inhalation therapy in a sauna-like environment.

A Suite Escape in Southern California’s Shangri-La

Ojai Valley Inn also presents its newly renovated Spa Penthouse Suites that sit above Spa Ojai. The $2 million redesign, orchestrated by BAR Architects’ renowned Director of Interiors Tim Hepworth and interior designer Alexa d’Argencé, draws inspiration from the magical setting of Ojai to create two havens for wellness-seeking guests looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway.

The Sunset and Moonrise Penthouse Suites are each 1,500 square-foot, two-bedroom accommodations with sweeping views of the surrounding valley and ample private outdoor space. Inspired design touches include handmade wool rugs and hardwood flooring; artwork by Tricia Strickfaden and Peter Zaleski; bathrooms with Carrara marble finishes; and opulent outdoor lounge seating and fire table for al fresco evenings by Harbour Outdoor and Sutherland. Both suites pay homage to the resort’s location in the heart of Ojai Valley, the unofficial «Zen Capital» of Southern California.

Michelin Launches Pilot Sport EV Tire for Electric Sports Vehicles

GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Michelin has launched its first tire designed to address the specific demands made by electric sports cars.

GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Michelin has launched its first tire designed to address the specific demands made by electric sports cars.

Launching April 1, the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport EV delivers:

  • Optimal grip on dry and wet roads(3) (4) – irrespective of the tire’s level of wear(5) – taking into account the higher weight and weight-distribution characteristics associated with electric sports cars.
  • Outstanding resistance to wear(6) in response to the high torque and acceleration forces of electric sports cars.
  • The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV’s low rolling resistance extends range by up to 37 miles(7).
  • 20 percent less perceptible road noise thanks to MICHELIN AcousticTM technology which takes the form of a custom-developed polyurethane foam that reduces cabin noise(1).

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV is the result of the unique experience Michelin has acquired in Formula E racing

A founding partner of Formula E, Michelin proposed a specific solution for the championship’s all-electric single-seaters that is similar in its concept to a road tire. The Michelin Formula E tire is capable of racing in any weather conditions, while its size – 18 inches – is consistent with current road-car norms.

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV benefits directly from the progress Michelin has achieved over six seasons in Formula E and incorporates ElectricGrip CompoundTM technology which features a hard compound for the center of the tread to provide the grip required to handle high torque characteristics of electric sports cars. The sidewalls carry over the same pattern and velvet-finish markings of Michelin’s Formula E tire.

An eco-responsible, CO2-neutral tire at the point of sale(2)

In order to achieve carbon neutrality throughout the life of its tire and address the demands of electric sports car owners, Michelin has pledged to neutralize the CO2 emissions associated with the tire’s production and transport to its point of sale. This process includes the financing of projects aimed at offsetting and absorbing the residual CO2 emissions associated with tire production through the Livelihoods carbon fund until the day comes when it will be possible to eliminate them entirely.

Michelin is currently the only manufacturer that is active in the original-equipment and replacement electric sports car tire market. The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV will be rolled during 2021 in a choice of 16 sizes (original equipment: 11 sizes / replacement market: 5 sizes) for 18- to 22-inch rims.

The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV is already available in China and will be available on vehicles released in Europe and North America from the third quarter 2021. By 2024, Michelin plans to increase its sales in this high-growth market by a factor of eight.

2 Michelin has cut CO2 emissions from its industrial sites by 25% since 2010 and aims at their carbon neutrality by 2050. Michelin is engaged in funding projects designed to absorb or avoid CO2 emissions and draws upon the carbon credits stemming from these projects up to the level of residual emissions linked to the production of MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV tires (from extraction of the raw materials to delivery of the tires to the customer). 3 Cornering stiffness internal study carried out on machine in October 2020, on dimension 255/45 R19, comparing the 255/45 R19 MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV with the same-sized MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 SUV.
4 The MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV is B-rated for Wet Grip by the European labelling scale.
5 New and Worn (worn means worn on machine (buffed) to the depth of Tread Wear Indicator according to European regulation for Tread wear indicator ECE R30r03f), the 255/45 R19 MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV, is above the European R117 regulation wet grip threshold.
6 Thanks to MaxTouch Construction that maximizes the tire’s contact with the road and evenly distribute the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering – delivering longer tread life without sacrificing performance
7 Rolling Resistance internal study carried out in October 2020, comparing a 255/45 R19 MICHELIN Pilot Sport EV (6.7kg/t) with the same-sized MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 SUV (8.8kg/t). In the case of an electric vehicle weighing 2,151kg with a range of 540km, the difference (2.1kg/t) equates to more than 60km of additional range, or more than 10 percent of the original range.

2020 Electric Vehicle (EV) Regulation Overview in Key European Markets: Cash Incentives to be Discontinued in the Next 3-5 years / Non-cash Incentives to Prevail for at least 10 Years

DUBLIN, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The «Electric Vehicle (EV)…

DUBLIN, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The «Electric Vehicle (EV) Regulation Overview in Key European Markets 2020» report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.

Research and Markets Logo

This study gives a detailed analysis of EV incentives, subsidies, and taxation scenarios in each European country and their impact on EV sales.

The automotive industry is rapidly evolving in terms of technology as well as tackling environmental issues. Electric vehicles have been introduced as a clean energy initiative, as they have low or zero emissions and have come a long way to become an integral part of OEMs’ business strategies. Automakers such as PSA and Volkswagen are creating separate EV business units to be prepared for the expected EV boom in the future.

Asia has been dominating the market up until recently but things have changed in 2020. Europe has emerged as the clear leader as of September 2020 with the continent registering sales of about 800,000 units. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, China registered only 700,000 units compared to around 1,115,000 units in September 2019.

Although Europe had also gone into a temporary lockdown in Q2 2020, to curb the effect, governments have announced stimulus packages that include generous EV subsidies and incentives (doubled in few countries) that have resulted in almost doubling of sales compared to January to September 2019.

Countries across Europe have similar approaches with various types of EV purchase incentives, EV taxation policies, EV infrastructure incentives, and urban access regulations. By far, EV purchase incentives such as cash rebates and scrappage incentives have impacted the most on EV sales as is evident in Germany and France where sales have grown more than 140% and 160%, respectively, from January to September 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.

Favorable EV taxation policies (e.g., exemption from registration and ownership tax on the purchase of EVs) have also led to an increase in demand in Italy and Norway. The creation of low and ultra-low emission zones have also pushed consumers into buying plug-in electric vehicles, especially in the UK, where driving petrol (below Euro 4) or diesel (before Euro 6) vehicle can attract a fine of 12.50 per day in certain low emission zones (LEZs).

HALA Launches «Hotels for Homes» To Aid Unsheltered Programs

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The Hotel Association of Los Angeles (HALA) announced today the launch of «Hotels for Homes,» a renewed effort to survey hotel owners to determine partners for the City and County of Los Angeles to provide safe shelter for those in need.

This is a continuation of the LA hotel community’s on-going partnership with the City and County after successfully contracting with 40 hotel and motel properties to house more than 7,000 people as part of Project Roomkey since March 2020. Hotels throughout Los Angeles County are expected to respond to the survey to participate in City and County sheltering programs for members of our community experiencing homelessness.

«Our hotels continue to respond to the needs of the Los Angeles community,» said Heather Rozman, Executive Director of HALA. «As state and federal government funding now is available to obtain rooms and the public services necessary for sheltering programs, hotels and motels remain willing partners. This presents a unique opportunity for Los Angeles leaders to work with hoteliers to support programs aimed at providing a pathway toward permanent housing.»

As such, HALA has re-launched a «Hotels for Homes» program to reach out again to greater LA hotels and motels for participation in government shelter programs, updating its list of properties to contract with local governments to open even more doors to members of the community experiencing homelessness.

«A hotel’s core function is to provide shelter in a caring and generous way,» Rozman added. «Hotels are more than just a place to stay, they contribute to the local economy by generating hundreds of millions of local tax dollars and hundreds of thousands of jobs. LA’s hotels offer a safe place for wildfire evacuees, participate in meal delivery programs during the pandemic, and provide bedding, towels and toiletries for bridge housing sites. LA hotels have been, and always will be, committed to serving their communities.»

About the Hotel Association of Los Angeles

The Hotel Association of Los Angeles has advocated for the Los Angeles lodging industry for more than 70 years through legislative support, coalition building, lobbying and public advocacy. Its members represent a cross-section of the lodging industry, including owners, managers, suppliers and vendors.

Automotive Lift Institute Introduces Check360™ Certified Lift Inspection, New Inspection Label

CORTLAND, N.Y., Feb. 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) has developed a new lift inspection process for the more than 500 ALI Certified Lift Inspectors across North America to follow when inspecting any car lift, truck lift or other vehicle lift. The <a target="_blank"…

The Check360™ Certified Lift Inspection is a comprehensive examination of the lift structure as well as its electrical and mechanical components. The inspection also includes a review of training logs, operating instructions and safety materials. Check360 lift inspections meet all the requirements of the national safety standard governing lift operation, inspection and maintenance, ANSI/ALI ALOIM (current edition).

The standard requires that all vehicle lifts be inspected by a qualified lift inspector at least annually and provides extensive guidance on what must be inspected. The ALI Lift Inspector Certification Program was introduced in 2012 to provide a resource for standardized lift inspection procedures and qualified lift inspectors to perform them. It was the first – and remains the only – program to establish lift inspector credentials and to independently test and certify inspectors who proved qualified to inspect any type of lift.

With the introduction of Check360, ALI has updated the inspection procedures for all lift types and has made it easier for customers to confirm that the inspection they receive is complete and meets all industry standards.

«As the ALI Lift Inspector Certification Program has grown, we’ve seen an increasing number of inspection companies offer multiple tiers of inspection and apply misleading inspection labels to lifts inspected outside of our program parameters,» says R.W. «Bob» O’Gorman, ALI president. «To make it easier for customers to have confidence that they’re getting what they paid for – an inspection that meets all the requirements of the national safety standard – we developed a new lift inspection process customers can ask for by name and a new lift inspection label that’s harder to counterfeit. Check360 is the only lift inspection backed by ALI, the organization that’s been protecting lift operators for more than 75 years.»

To ensure consistency and compliance, only ALI Certified Lift Inspectors can perform a Check360 lift inspection. At the conclusion of the inspection, the inspector will provide the customer with a thorough report of the results and will apply a new Check360 Certified Lift Inspection label to every lift that passes. The label features the Check360 mark in the center, the ALI Certified Lift Inspector hologram, a serial number matching the inspection report number, and the inspector’s individual four-digit ID. There is a new label color every year (2021 labels are orange) and all unused labels must be accounted for at the end of the year. Check360 labels can be applied exclusively by ALI Certified Lift Inspectors.

The Check360 inspection label provides assurance to the customer that the lift was thoroughly inspected from top to bottom in compliance with the national safety standard. It also gives code enforcement officials instant proof of the last time the lift was professionally inspected and deemed in proper working order.

«Remember, there’s only one lift inspection backed by ALI: the Check360 Certified Lift Inspection,» says O’Gorman. «Ask for it by name.»
