Bally’s Corporation Submits Proposal To Develop $650 Million World Class Casino And Resort In Richmond, Virginia

PROVIDENCE, R.I., Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Bally’s Corporation (NYSE: BALY), a leading U.S. omnichannel provider of land-based gaming and interactive entertainment, today submitted a proposal to the City of Richmond to develop and operate the «Bally’s Richmond Casino Resort,» a world class, destination resort, hotel and casino. The project, which will span more than 1.6 million total square feet, will include a casino, sportsbook,…

The project, which will span more than 1.6 million total square feet, will include a casino, sportsbook, hotel, resort-style pool, dining and retail outlets, and a flexible space for live entertainment and conferences.

To ensure that the project fosters significant opportunities for Richmond’s local organizations and minority-owned businesses, Bally’s has entered into strategic partnerships with multiple leaders of the greater Richmond community, including Willie Lanier, Sr. and the Lanier Family, Darrell Green, Founder of the Darrell Green Youth Foundation, and Warren Thompson, Founder, President and Chairman of the Board of Thompson Hospitality Corporation. Bally’s has also started discussions and begun forming partnerships with several small business enterprises including the Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council and the Virginia Asian Chamber of Commerce, each of which has committed their support to the proposed project.

Bally’s has proposed construction of the Bally’s Richmond on a 61-acre parcel located North of Powhite Parkway / East of Chippenham Parkway, on the western border of Richmond, Virginia. This central location will make the Bally’s Richmond an attractive destination, providing convenient highway and transit access, as well as connectivity to downtown Richmond, which is only six miles away, and neighboring suburbs. Bally’s carefully selected this wooded site located at the city’s edge because it will provide the greatest economic benefit to Richmond without causing any disruption to nearby communities.

As detailed in the proposal, construction of the Bally’s Richmond is projected to take approximately 18 months, with an anticipated opening in 2024. Bally’s estimates that construction, which will supply Richmond with several years of contractor and sub-contractor work, will cost approximately $650 million, including a one-time, $100 million upfront payment to the City of Richmond after selection. Upon completion, Bally’s estimates that the property will attract approximately 3.7 million visitors annually, generating approximately 1,700 full-time equivalent (FTE) employment opportunities and approximately 2,000 total employees with FTE payroll. The project is also estimated to generate approximately $415 million in total gross revenue annually.

Soo Kim, Chairman of Bally’s Corporation’s Board of Directors, said, «As a former director and the largest shareholder of Richmond-headquartered Media General, I have a strong interest in the growth, development and success of this great city. I am grateful for the opportunity to present this project to the City of Richmond, which will not only generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, but, more importantly, thousands of high paying jobs. The project also demonstrates Bally’s deep commitments to supporting local communities, partnering with local businesses and promoting diversity.»

«We are honored about the prospect of partnering with the City of Richmond as it embarks upon this exciting and unique adventure,» said George Papanier, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bally’s Corporation. «Our proposal represents an unprecedented project for the Richmond community that will embrace and showcase the city’s existing culture and traditions in an environment positioned towards entertainment and leisure. The Bally’s Richmond would provide the city with a vibrant new attraction that is sure to turn Richmond into a dynamic tourist destination.»

A World-Class Destination Resort

Among other amenities and offerings, the Bally’s Richmond would include:

  • a casino, curated to celebrate Richmond’s diversity, consisting of 2,500 slot machines, 90 table games, 30 poker tables, a High Limit Gaming area and VIP lounge;
  • a 4-star, 250-room hotel that will provide the Richmond market, including the Richmond Convention Center, with an advantage in attracting meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition (MICE) activities and revenue;
  • a 3,000 square foot indoor/outdoor pool area that will include a stage, access to the B3 Bar (an outdoor food and beverage venue), and adjacency to local food trucks as well as local beer, wine and other distilled options from around Richmond;
  • a 16,000 square foot multi-dimensional spa, salon and health club offering a variety of curated wellness treatments, customizable therapies and massages, advanced skincare options, and wet and dry facilities;
  • a 45,000 square foot multi-use event space with 3,000 high-quality stadium seats, a permanent stage and a state-of-the-art sound system that will be available for headline entertainment, art exhibitions, large catered, community, MICE and sports events, and other performances;
  • 13 premier food and beverage venues, including a branded steakhouse, The Bally Sports Bar & Grill, and a rooftop bar overlooking the James River and downtown Richmond, as well as a commitment to incorporate local, VA-based food and beverage vendors to the property; and
  • a visitor center providing a full-range of services for guests seeking to access sites, museums, and other attractions throughout the city.

Papanier continued, «Bally’s brings a wealth of experience to this project. We have deep roots in land-based, regional casinos, demonstrated by our national, multi-property portfolio. We are a premier omnichannel gaming company with complete online sports betting and online gaming capabilities. With a database comprised of 15 million players that offers unparalleled cross-marketing opportunities, we are uniquely-situated to successfully develop and operate the Bally’s Richmond, and ensure future economic opportunity for the City of Richmond, its local businesses and its residents.»

Local Partnerships

As part of this project, Bally’s is partnering with the Lanier Family, who will take a minority ownership interest. The partnership with the Lanier Family reinforces Bally’s commitment to involve and connect with the local Richmond community. The Lanier Family will assist Bally’s in its community outreach programs as well as provide project construction and development services through Lanier United — a real estate development and construction company owned by Willie Lanier, Jr., son of Pro Football Hall of Famer and Virginia-native Willie Lanier, Sr.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Darrell Green has also agreed to acquire a minority stake in the Bally’s Richmond. Green is a resident of Northern Virginia and regarded as one of the top 100 NFL players of all time. In 1988, Green founded the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation, a faith-based charitable organization developed to «meet the needs of children, their families and the communities in which they live.» The foundation is responsible for building four centers in the Richmond area aimed at serving underprivileged youth, as well as hosting an annual golf tournament that raises funds to invest in the education of children living in at-risk communities.

In addition, Bally’s is partnering with Warren Thompson and his company Thompson Hospitality Corporation, which will maintain a minority ownership interest in the project. Thompson is the Founder, President and Chairman of the Board of Thompson Hospitality, which is the nation’s largest minority-owned food and facilities management company, as well as the largest minority employer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The partnership will enable Bally’s to further support the Richmond community by incorporating certain of Thompson’s local restaurant concepts and minority employees into the project, and entering into supplier agreements led by his company.

Warren Thompson said, «I am thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Bally’s, the Lanier Family and Darrell Green on this historic and transformative project. Bally’s has a proven track record of supporting local organizations and minority-owned businesses, and is committed to vendor diversity when sourcing products and services. I look forward to teaming up with Bally’s and contributing to outreach opportunities that are sure to make a lasting, positive impact on the Richmond community.»

Supporting the Richmond Community

Bally’s aims to play a significant role in the local communities in which it operates, seeking to ensure that it gives back to the businesses and residents who are vital to its success. To that end, a hallmark of the Bally’s Richmond will be «Richmond Rewards» – a unique, interactive program that will incentivize players and guests to redeem the rewards they earn while playing at the Bally’s Richmond at local retailers. Bally’s has successfully implemented similar rewards programs in a number of cities across the U.S.

Working with the Lanier Family, Darrell Green and Warren Thompson, Bally’s Richmond will solicit small businesses within the Richmond area to join this innovative program and will work with participating organizations to offer the best array of rewards. Players and guests will be able to view participating businesses and their products through a virtual store easily accessible from mobile devices. The «Richmond Rewards» program represents an innovative opportunity for the casino, its players and local, participating businesses.

Papanier continued, «We are thrilled to be partnering with the Lanier Family, Darrell Green and Warren Thompson, each of whom has deep and significant ties to the greater Richmond community. Through these partnerships, we will support, utilize and develop lasting relationships with local and minority-owned businesses. We also look forward to working with historically Black colleges and universities to provide education and training opportunities, internship programs and prospects for long-term employment.»

The City of Richmond is expected to issue its decision on Bally’s proposal in June 2021.

NEW HAVEN, Conn., Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Following a significant fire at The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp on Friday, Feb. 12, CEO Jimmy Canton announced today that a $1 million match initiated by The Travelers Companies, Inc. and the Travelers Championship to inspire community support has been achieved. Canton also acknowledged that Hole in the Wall feels they will have the anticipated funds needed to rebuild the structures that were lost in the fire to best meet the current, future and varied needs of the seriously ill children the Camp serves.

«We are deeply grateful for the tremendous outpouring of kindness and generosity from the thousands of people in our Camp family and beyond who brought us to this milestone,» said Canton. «To every person who donated, every camper family that raised money on social media and everyone who reached out with their prayers and well wishes, know that we are honored by your friendship. We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to Travelers and the Travelers Championship for their extraordinary $1 million match, and to Newman’s Own Foundation for their exceptional $1 million commitment to ensure we build the future-minded buildings our children will need. It is because of this incredible support that we can now focus our efforts on rebuilding.»

On Monday, Feb. 15, longtime Camp advocates Travelers and the Travelers Championship announced a $1 million match to inspire support for Hole in the Wall’s rebuilding efforts.

«A week ago, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was struck by tragedy, but in a matter of days, the community responded with remarkable generosity,» said Alan Schnitzer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers. «The fire may have come as a shock, but the outpouring of support was hardly a surprise. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp has touched many lives and countless hearts. We’re honored to do our part to help the Camp recover and rebuild stronger than ever.»

«It was clear from the first time I visited Camp that it was a magical place,» said Andy Bessette, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Travelers. «Its phenomenal programs allow kids to, as Paul Newman put it, ‘raise a little hell,’ and thanks to everyone in the community, Camp will be able to preserve the special activities that families have counted on for so many years.»

More than 3,300 donations and commitments have been received since Feb. 12, totaling just over $1 million. Included in the total are a number of pledges from generous individual donors, foundations and corporations. On Feb. 17, Newman’s Own Foundation announced an additional $1 million commitment, encouraging the Camp staff to dream the most cutting-edge, accessible and inclusive new buildings possible.

«I couldn’t be more thrilled by the far-reaching support shown to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp,» said Miriam E. Nelson, President and CEO of Newman’s Own Foundation. «It says so much about the community that Hole in the Wall and Paul built. We are proud to be a part of the Camp family, and we know that Hole in the Wall will rise stronger to continue to serve more children with serious illnesses and their families.»

For the last 14 years, Hole in the Wall has been a primary beneficiary of the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut. On Feb. 17, three-time Travelers Championship winner Bubba Watson announced his own $25,000 commitment in response to the match, demonstrating the far-reaching friendship between the tournament and The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. Watson also has supported Camp in the past – after his win at the 2018 Travelers Championship, he donated $200,000.

«The Camp is a charitable focus and source of inspiration for us, not only among our local community but throughout the PGA TOUR and its players,» said Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship Tournament Director. «The response from across our region has been absolutely outstanding, and we’re happy to have been there for Camp when they needed us most.»

Steam Cleaning Fortador USA Brings Uptime, Efficiency and Style to RideKleen

MIAMI, Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Since 2013, RideKleen has been delivering mobile vehicle steam cleaning on public streets and in parking garages to fleets across the U.S.

«We take the mobile systems and go wherever the customer needs us to go. This customer service is important to us,» explains RideKleen Founder and President Pratik Patel.

While its initial success was further solidified by its acquisition by Cox Automotive (owner of Manheim), the company faced a looming challenge: It’s steam cleaning equipment.

Patel says the machines and the vendors that supplied them in the past had a number of issues, including:

  • Equipment needing lots of maintenance, which resulted in excessive non-productive, and costly downtime.
  • Vendors not having adequate customer support.
  • Outdated and/or not regularly updated or improved equipment.

Patel and his team looked for a better, more reliable machine and they found it in Fortador USA. «When we started to explore Fortador Car Steam Cleaners as an option, we found it was a much better built machine,» he says.

Implementing Fortador Steamers
RideKleen began using the Fortador steam cleaning solution in 2020, and has about five machines throughout the organization.

«We didn’t go all in at the beginning — we wanted to test them out first,» Patel says. «What we are seeing already is better reliability.»

Powered by a Lamborghini-built burner, the Fortador steam cleaning system is a portable, self-contained cleaning unit that thoroughly cleans and sanitizes vehicles in a few minutes.

Because it uses steam and gentle detergents, the non-touch Fortador steam cleaning system will not damage exterior or interior surfaces. The self-contained equipment doesn’t draw water from water lines, so you will not have to get a permit to begin using it. The hand-built burner also saves thousands annually in fuel costs alone.

Fortador’s portability was a key benefit for RideKleen. Because the company goes to its fleet customers to clean their vehicles, RideKleen needs a mobile unit that can be easily transported in the company’s trucks. With the previous solutions, this meant the unit had to be unloaded from the truck to do the work and loaded back on it when the job was done — a time-consuming and physical job for the cleaning crew.

This has been eliminated by Fortador.

«Here, Fortador was a little more innovative — they have a retrofit system — it’s a system in the vehicle on a rack system, so we can actually run the steamer in the truck,» explains Patel, noting that there are no issues with venting the exhaust, since the rack system allows the unit to be extended out of the cargo area.

RideKleen’s clients, which range from ride and car share companies to delivery companies, have been uniformly impressed by steam cleaning, although Patel admits they haven’t necessarily commented on the switch to Fortador products.

But what they like is the efficiency — a vehicle can be cleaned in 20 to 30 minutes with little water waste and no harsh or toxic chemicals. «The more efficient we get, the more efficiency we pass onto the client,» Patel says. «The better the equipment, the better the service we can provide.»

Patel notes that steam cleaning as a service «sells itself,» and, because it doesn’t use water or soap, always attracts the attention of passersby. Fortador has helped catch many more eyes since RideKleen was added it to the mix.

«The Fortador units look a lot more refreshed and modern, and clients and potential clients see us using the latest and greatest,» Patel says. «Even for employees, they want to be using these, because they look so nice. Your eyes just gravitate to the units. It makes a difference.»

Particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, more fleets are adopting steam cleaning as an alternative to traditional soap and water processes.

«Steam has always been known to be a natural disinfectant,» Patel says. «It gives clients peace of mind. A lot of what we’re seeing has been heightened because of COVID. Post-COVID people will now be educated about how dirty their vehicles are.»

The Benefits Add Up
It’s not just having an eye-catching unit that has made Fortador the right choice for RideKleen. The steam cleaning unit has delivered everything Patel was looking for.

These benefits include:

  • Better uptime and reliability.
  • Improved costs, due particularly to less regular maintenance.
  • Saving technician time due to better uptime; technicians spend less time switching out units for repairs.
  • Technician friendly equipment; the Fortador solution is easier to use than RideKleen’s previous vendors’ units.

Looking Ahead
As a member of the Cox Automotive family, RideKleen has begun working with the Manheim auctions to introduce steam cleaning during the vehicle prep process.

The auctions use traditional pressure washing, which takes about 35 gallons of water per vehicle compared to Fortador steam cleaning, which uses just one gallon.

«We’re working with Manheim to become more water neutral,» says Patel, adding that several auctions, including one in Canada, have begun using Fortador steam cleaning units. «We meet all environmental requirements. Steam cleaning has always been about keeping the environment safe.»

The multi-year project could save significant resources and costs, since Manheim operates more than 200 physical vehicle auctions worldwide. As part of the overall company’s sustainability efforts, Cox has made a pledge to become more water neutral over the years to come.

And Fortador will be part of this ambitious and achievable goal. «As we need to order more units, we’ll be adding more Fortador units and plan to make it our preferred machine,» Patel says.

APPLETON, Wis., Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — U.S. Gain, a leader in the development and distribution of alternative fuel and renewable energy, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with <a target="_blank"…

APPLETON, Wis., Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — U.S. Gain, a leader in the development and distribution of alternative fuel and renewable energy, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with AMPLY Power, a leader in commercial electric vehicle charging. Together, the companies will offer turnkey, cost-effective charging solutions for the growing number of electrified fleets throughout the United States and Canada.

Rooted in transportation, U.S. Gain has built an extensive portfolio within the renewable natural gas (RNG) industry – with more than 25 development projects, 50 public and private fueling stations, more than 100 independent distribution points and several thermal energy supply agreements. Although RNG offers tremendous value to transportation-related emissions, U.S. Gain is confident that a polyfuel approach will be widely embraced by fleets and therefore, is excited to add electric supply and charging to its suite of Sustainable Energy SolutionsSM.

«We look forward to assisting fleets in their transition to any alternative fuel, and with regard to electric, think we can bring value to solve the infrastructure dilemma faced by so many,» commented Jon Summersett, director of product management at U.S. Gain. «Figuring out where and when to charge can be complex and feel overwhelming, but with the combined expertise of AMPLY Power and U.S. Gain, the process will be efficient, affordable and seamless. AMPLY Power is tenured in commercial fleet charging and electrical energy consumption while we bring knowledge specific to electric supply and credit generation. Further, U.S. Gain can assist fleets with other alternative fueling supply and infrastructure needs – spanning from natural gas, electric, hydrogen, propane, biodiesel and renewable diesel.»

AMPLY Power is focused on transforming commercial fleet infrastructure by removing the challenges, surprises and the learning curve that fleet operators often face when switching to electricity as a fuel. Their expertise removes the risk of time-of-use and demand-charge driven pricing variances, while offering real-time energy-flow management technology to keep fleets charged at the best cost. Together, U.S. Gain and AMPLY Power will enable commercial fleets to benefit from predictable, affordable energy charges.

«AMPLY’s Charging-as-a-Service solutions, incorporating our patent-pending Charge Management System, deliver a cost-efficient and reliable downstream fueling service for electric fleets,» said Vic Shao, Founder and CEO of AMPLY Power. «We are excited to extend this offering through U.S. Gain’s upstream and renewable energy experience so that their customers can become polyfuel consumers–our combined expertise delivering a simplified migration to zero-emission fleets.»

Additionally, further value can be derived from electric charging through credit generation. U.S. Gain has been generating and monetizing credits under California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) since the program’s inception. They have done this for nearly all eligible fuel types including renewable natural gas, renewable diesel, biodiesel, ethanol and propane. Their large volume of transactions, relationships with regulated parties seeking credits and experience with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) maximizes credit values for their fueling and charging customers.

«While our primary business is rooted in natural gas, at U.S. Gain, we believe in the value proposition a polyfuel future offers and are crafting a portfolio of sustainable energy solutions to reflect that,» said Mike Koel, president of U.S. Gain. «A partnership with AMPLY Power is the most appropriate next step in our expansion, satisfying the growing need for efficient commercial charging solutions. We’re excited to bring our expertise of electricity supply and credit generation to the table, strengthening the economic value proposition for fleets.»

As transit agencies, schools, refuse companies, municipalities, shippers and carriers adopt polyfuel strategies inclusive of electrification, U.S. Gain and AMPLY Power offer the best path to environmental and economic success.

PLANO, Texas, Feb. 22, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Last year’s reimagined front-engine rear-wheel-drive IS struck the perfect balance of sportiness and sophistication, making it the best IS to date. However, Chief Engineer Naoki Kobayashi and his team at Lexus International have been working on something truly special exclusively for the North American market. Enter the first-ever Lexus IS 500 F SPORT Performance, which dials up the sports sedan formula to eleven with the addition of a powerful 472-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine and ferocious quad exhaust system. It expands the IS family and ushers in a new era of F SPORT Performance models that will appeal to passionate driving enthusiasts that crave higher levels of performance over the standard F SPORT models.

A Rare Breed: Lexus F SPORT Performance Line
As the first model in the new Lexus F SPORT Performance line, the IS 500 engine provides a boost in displacement and performance over the IS 350’s 3.5-liter V6. With a push of the engine start button, its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine roars to life, providing a not-so-subtle reminder that something special lies beneath its raised hood. The IS 500 has a maximum output of 472 hp at 7,100 rpm and 395 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,800 rpm. Despite the drastically more powerful engine, the vehicle tips the scales at 3,891 pounds, gaining only 143 pounds of additional curb weight over the standard IS 350 F SPORT. The IS 500 is capable of delivering a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds and has a manufacturer-estimated 24 mpg highway rating. Other IS 500 performance enhancements include a throaty quad exhaust system with dual stacked tail pipes that perfectly amplify the new V8 engine. This exhaust not only sounds ferocious, but is inspired by F models, like the RC F.

IS 500 uses the same the same eight-speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission found in the IS 300 and IS 350 RWD models. It also features drive mode select Sport S and Sport S+, which provides advanced engine and transmission mapping to enhance performance. Sport S+ also adjusts the amount of EPS steering assist and damping force to deliver sportier handling to match the updated powertrain settings. Custom Mode is also available, offering multiple combinations for powertrain (Normal/Eco/Power), chassis (Normal/Sport) and air conditioner (Normal/Eco).

Starting with the 2022 IS 500, Lexus F SPORT Performance models will come adorned with unique black badging on the sides to distinguish it from F models.

Building on Lexus Driving Signature
The new 2021 IS launched an era of vehicles developed at Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama with a uniform Lexus Driving Signature. Since Lexus launched, the tactile feel, behavior, and execution for each model has been driven by the vision and efforts of the Chief Engineer. Moving forward, the efforts of the CE will be focused on elevating the vehicles to a new standard of performance and handling as developed by Lexus International President and Chief Branding Officer Koji Sato and Master Driver and Brand Holder Akio Toyoda. The ultimate goal is to deliver a new generation of Lexus vehicles that is more balanced, refined in control, and confident than ever before. Linear steering, brake responses, and optimized handling with exceptional ride quality is the result of heightened focus on tuning of the chassis and its interactions with the control surfaces through diligent evaluation at a test facility unlike any other.

The all-new IS 500 builds on the improvements made to the 2021 IS with a focus on delivering confidence and a linear connection between driver and vehicle. The IS 500 will come standard with the IS RWD F SPORT’s Dynamic Handling Package (DHP), which includes Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and a Torsen® limited slip differential (LSD) that improves handling and performance thanks to enhanced traction when cornering or exiting turns. The LSD helps maintain straight-line stability as well. Engineers have also improved the IS chassis performance with the addition of a Yamaha® rear performance damper. This damper reduces dynamic structural distortion, delivering increased comfort at low speeds, and additional stability and agility at high speeds. Brake cooling enhancements have also been made over the standard IS 350 F SPORT with additional aerodynamic cooling and larger 14.0-inch two-piece aluminum front rotors and 12.7-inch rear rotors.

The Devil’s in the Details
The IS 500 features subtle exterior enhancements to help set it apart from the standard IS 350 F SPORT. The hood has been raised nearly 2 inches and receives sculpted center character lines, while the front bumper and fenders have been lengthened to help accommodate the vehicle’s naturally aspirated V8 muscle. IS 500 will come standard with exclusive 19-inch split-10-spoke Enkei alloy wheels. Not only are they beautiful and intricate, the wheels are approximately 1-pound lighter per wheel in front and 2 pounds lighter per wheel in the rear, compared to the standard 19-inch F SPORT wheel.  Other exterior updates include a revised lower rear diffuser accent that accentuates the quad exhaust system, as well as dark chrome window trim. Tying these visual and performance cues together is the black IS F SPORT rear lip spoiler.

Inside, drivers are greeted with black F SPORT Performance badging on the heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and door sill scuff plates. It also comes standard with the IS F SPORT accelerator pedal, brake pedal and footrest, but the combination instrumentation meter receives an updated startup animation that is exclusive to IS 500.

Enhanced Lexus Safety System+
The IS 500 inherits the updated Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 recently launched on the 2021 IS. A number of key features that are part of the Lexus Safety System+ have been enhanced, along with the addition of a few new features.

For starters, the Pre-Collision System (PCS), which include Frontal Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Pedestrian Detection and Bicyclist Detection, features an enhancement to the lens camera and millimeter-wave radar elements to expand the response range. By enhancing the radar and camera capabilities it is now possible for the system to help detect not only the vehicle ahead but also a preceding bicyclist in daytime and even a preceding pedestrian in daytime and low-light conditions. At intersections, the system has the capability under certain conditions to recognize an oncoming vehicle or pedestrian when performing a left-hand turn and is designed to activate typical PCS functions if needed. Additional PCS functions include Emergency Steering Assist (ESA), which is designed to assist steering within the vehicle’s lane as cued by the driver.

All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) can be activated above 30 mph and is designed to perform vehicle-to-vehicle distance controls down to 0 mph and can resume from a stop. DRCC also includes a new feature that allows for smooth overtaking of slower vehicles. If traveling behind a vehicle going slower than the preset speed, once the driver engages the turn signal, the system will provide an initial increase in acceleration in preparation for changing lanes and; after the driver changes lanes, the vehicle will continue acceleration until it reaches the original preset driving speed.

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA) is designed to help notify the driver if it senses an inadvertent lane departure at speeds above 32 miles per hour via steering wheel vibrations or audible alert. It can also take slight corrective measures to help keep the driver within the visibly marked lane. When DRCC is set and engaged, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) is designed to provide slight steering force to help steer to the center of the lane to assist the driver with staying in the lane using visible lane markers or a preceding vehicle. LTA alerts the driver with a visual warning and either an audible alert or steering wheel vibration. In the new IS, the lane recognition performance, which makes LTA possible, has been improved with enhanced recognition of line and road edge, lateral G performance, and enhanced control and stability after lane change.

Additional Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 features include Intelligent High Beams, which detects preceding or oncoming vehicles and automatically switches between high beam and low beam headlights. Road Sign Assist (RSA) is designed to acquire certain road sign information using a camera and navigation maps when data is available and displays them on the multi-information display (MID).

Lexus Enform for Safety and Convenience
Lexus Enform Safety Connect comes with a three-year trial with access to Lexus Enform response centers 24/7/365. With Lexus Enform Service Connect, complimentary for the first 10 years, the vehicle can send alerts for specific factory recommended maintenance while simultaneously alerting a preferred Lexus dealer. In addition, the Lexus App allows guests to do everything from starting their vehicle remotely with a smartphone, to contacting dealers for a service appointment, and much more. With an active subscription, the Lexus App dashboard provides a personalized view of convenient vehicle and connected service information, including the Vehicle Health Report, scheduled maintenance and vehicle health alerts. Guests also can manage their subscriptions right from the palm of their hand.

More information regarding MSRP, options, exterior and interior color choices will be made available closer to launch. The all-new 2022 IS 500 F SPORT Performance is expected to arrive in dealerships later this Fall.
