NEWTOWN, Conn., Aug. 6. 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Summer is a time for fun and sun in the outdoors but it can also be fraught with danger for pets. As the temperature rises, it’s important to take measures to ensure animals remain, cool, safe and protected. That’s why the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is teaming up with veterinarian, Dr. Emily Andersen to share some easy hot weather tips that could save a life.

Keep pets out of the car! Despite the warnings, every year, pets die after their owners leave them in a parked car that overheats. Within just a few minutes, a car can get dangerously hot and lead to permanent damage or death. Play it safe and bring them into air conditioning or keep them home.

If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them. This applies to air AND the ground. From scalding asphalt, pavement, sidewalks, beach sand and artificial ground surfaces, keep those paws safe by keeping to cool surfaces instead. Remember to walk in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler, keep walks and exercise shorter, always bring water, and walk in areas that have ample shade.

Certain animals are more sensitive to heat. Brachycephalic breeds (our short-snouted friends), older animals, thick-coated animals, and full-figured critters are predisposed to overheat and extra precaution should be taken.

Don’t forget cats (and other exotic and large animal family members!). Make sure your home has ample cooler and warmer spots for indoor cats. If your cats go outdoors, make sure they have access to shady spots and fresh water. And if there are stray or feral cats in your area, consider leaving a bowl of water to help them stave off dehydration.

Overheating happens quickly and can be extremely dangerous, even life-threatening. When in doubt, always stay on the side of caution and immediately seek veterinary care if you think your pet has overheated.

Warm weather also brings varying hazards such as mosquitos and bees, sunburns and yard chemicals. Talk to your veterinarian and have an appropriate plan to keep your animals protected against parasites, disease, toxins, and trauma.

This summer, enjoy all the fun of the season with your furry friends—just be sure to take a few precautions along the way as you work to stay cool!

Worldwide Industry for Connected Homes to 2025 – Key Business Strategies

DUBLIN, Aug. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The «Connected Home Market by Technology, Computing Type, Service Provider, Application Type, User Interface, Connection Type, Communication Interface, Deployment Type, and Region 2020 – 2025» report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com’s offering.

Research and Markets Logo

This report evaluates the connected home market by Technology (AI, Data Analytics, and IoT), Computing Type (Core Cloud and Edge), Service Provider (MNO and OTT), Application Type (Entertainment, Security, Energy, and Smart Vehicle Integrated), User Interface (Smart Speakers and Phones), Connection Type, Communication Interface, Deployment Type, and Region. The report evaluates both the DIY and managed service market including device installation and configuration, provisioning, access control, monitoring, and more.

The report includes analysis of immersive and interactive solutions including the use of virtual reality-based gaming and video watching as well as interfaces and equipment used, which includes virtual controllers, gesture and motion sensors. The report also evaluates smart vehicle integrated applications including voice assistance, home configuration, emergency alerts, synchronization, and more. The report provides market forecasts for major market segments, sub-segments, and regional expectations for the period 2020 through 2025.

One of the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic is that the smart home has become an extension of the smart workplace for many workers. The author sees integration between business communications and collaboration solutions and smart home technologies as a high growth area for application developers and systems integrators. We believe this trend will provide a substantial boost for stand-alone applications as well as pre-integrated and do-it-yourself (DIY) solutions.

The connected homes marketplace has been slow, but steady, building a firm base of support since 2018 and we project an even more pronounced growth trajectory starting in the 2022 to 2024 period. In fact, consumer perceptions have evolved over the last four years towards the expectation that apartments, condos, and newly constructed detached homes should be move-in-ready with respect to connectivity. This equates to pre-wired Ethernet as well as some type of gateway device, such as a wireless broadband router, which is relied upon for connectivity outside the home via the Internet. Various local area wireless technologies are employed for device-to-device and device to controller communications. In addition, especially the older generation is appreciative of pre-established smart home devices ranging from smart plugs to Virtual Personal Assistants (VPA) that enable an ambient user experience for applications and services via a voice-based control interface.

The connected home market is also to become much more robust with the integration of various artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The author sees the evolution of smart speakers for consumer markets and intelligent agent solutions for the business segment aligning closely with the evolution of AI and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in general. For example, the virtual personal assistant market is anticipated to hit a high-growth inflection point as open-source software and APIs become available for application development.

Select Report Findings:

  • The global market for connected home smart products will reach $221.5B by 2025
  • Smart speakers in connected home solutions in North America will reach $20.8B by 2025
  • Edge computing support of connected homes in South America will reach $200M by 2025
  • COVID-19 reinforces the dominant market trend that connected homes are extensions of the smart workplace
  • Currently, many AIoT use cases are very retail product-oriented, but this is set to change as smart, connected homes integrate cognitive computing with IoT

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Cannabis Global, Inc, (OTCMKTS: CBGL) («Cannabis Global» or the «Company»), a cannabinoid and hemp extract science forward company developing infusion and delivery technologies, is excited to announce the live public launch of its Hemp You Can Feel™ hemp-based alcohol substitute cocktail mixers.

Hemp You Can Feel™ mixers are now available for online consumer purchase as well as bulk purchase for wholesale distribution. Cocktails based on the Hemp You Can Feel™ mixers provide an experience on par with light alcohol consumption, but without any of the harmful side effects of alcohol.

«Because of the ultra-low levels of hemp extracts utilized, we feel we set a new standard for product-safety and satisfaction in the hemp food and beverage category with this product,» commented Arman Tabatabaei, CEO of Cannabis Global. «While our Hemp You Can Feel™ beverages likely have the lowest hemp extract levels in the industry, we believe we provide a vastly superior positive effect upon use. We invite all consumers and alcohol industry participants to try what we see as the first viable alternative to alcoholic beverages. Our website is www.HempYouCanFeel.com. Take the HempYouCanFeel Challenge!»

The cocktail mixer product line currently features three simple-to-use mixers: Margarita Jalapeño, Skinny Classic Cosmopolitan, and Hibiscus Mint Lemon mixer. The Preparation of a Hemp You Can Feel™ cocktail is simple: add 1-2 oz along with ice and sparkling water – and of course, no alcohol. The Company is planning to release multiple additional hemp-based flavors soon.

The Company believes the use of Hemp You Can Feel™ is significantly safer than the consumption of other hemp-based or high-cannabidiol (CBD) based beverages. Because of the natural water solubility of the preparations, only a minuscule amount of hemp extracts is present in the cocktail mixers. Laboratory analysis and results by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) indicated the presence of hemp extracts in the non-detectable category.

«The infusion technology behind our new Hemp You Can Feel™ alcohol-free cocktail mixers is highly advanced, yet ultra-simple,» added Tabatabaei. «It’s based on honeybees, powered by Bee-Fuse technology and our provisional patent on an all-natural, room temperature powderization technology. Nature has provided bees with unique enzymes that can naturally break down oil-based hemp extracts into a water-soluble compound, which we rely upon to create our cocktail mixers. There has never been anything like this product on the marketplace. Only nature could provide such a simple and elegant solution. Yet, it is highly effective, allowing us to produce the first hemp-based product that holds its own against alcohol-based beverages.»

Hemp You Can Feel™ is a registered trademark of Cannabis Global, Inc. Multiple pending and issued patents have been filed on the technologies discussed in the press release.

About Cannabis Global, Inc.

Cannabis Global, Inc., formerly known as MCTC Holdings, Inc., is a fully audited and reporting Company with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, trading with the stock symbol CBGL. The Company is an emerging force in the area of cannabinoid sciences and highly bioavailable hemp and cannabis infusion technologies. The Company does not engage in the production, distribution, or sales of any controlled substances, including marijuana. The Company has an actively growing portfolio of intellectual property having filed six patents in the areas of cannabinoid delivery systems and cannabinoid polymeric nanoparticles. The Company markets its consumer products under the Hemp You Can Feel™ brand name. Cannabis Global launched its Project Varin early in 2020, to develop new delivery methods for rare cannabinoid Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THV-C) and to develop products based on this cannabinoid.

About Provisional Patent Filings

Under United States patent law, a provisional application is a legal document filed in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, that establishes an early filing date, but does not mature into an issued patent unless the applicant files a regular non-provisional patent application within one year.

Bee Fuse Technology

Several of the company’s products are powered by Bee Fuse technology. Bee-Fuse Technology is an IP Protected method which enables bees to naturally express the full spectrum of the Hemp plant in their honey in a highly efficient manner, utilizing low amounts of cannabinoids as well as therapeutic terpenes which creates a unique delivery platform for any strain.

Precigen Triple-Gene Provides Six-month Follow-up Data from Phase I Study of INXN-4001, a Multigenic Investigational Therapeutic Candidate for Heart Failure

GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Precigen Triple-Gene, a clinical stage cardiovascular gene therapy company and majority-owned subsidiary of Precigen, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGEN), today announced six-month follow-up data from the Phase I trial of INXN-4001 (clinical trial identifier:

GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Precigen Triple-Gene, a clinical stage cardiovascular gene therapy company and majority-owned subsidiary of Precigen, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGEN), today announced six-month follow-up data from the Phase I trial of INXN-4001 (clinical trial identifier: NCT03409627), a multigenic investigational therapeutic candidate under evaluation for the treatment of heart failure. The INXN-4001 investigational therapy uses a non-viral plasmid designed to constitutively express human SDF-1α, VEGF165, and S100A1 gene products, which affect progenitor cell recruitment, angiogenesis, and calcium handling, respectively. INXN-4001 is designed to target the underlying molecular mechanisms of pathological myocardial remodelling and is delivered to the ventricle via retrograde coronary sinus infusion (RCSI).

The primary objectives of the Phase I study are to evaluate the safety of INXN-4001 infusion into the myocardium of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients and to demonstrate safety and feasibility of RCSI. Secondary endpoints include improvements in 6-min walk test (6MWT) duration and distance and quality of life, as assessed by Kansas City Cardiomyopathy Questionnaire (KCCQ) responses.

Twelve chronic heart failure patients were treated with INXN-4001 in either Cohort 1 (80 mg/40 ml; n=6) or Cohort 2 (80 mg/80 mL; n=6) and 10 were evaluated for six-month follow-up. The study has met the primary endpoints to evaluate safety and feasibility for INXN-4001. The infusions of INXN-4001 were overall well tolerated, with no adverse events attributed to INXN-4001, whereas one serious adverse event was considered related to the infusion procedure.

Furthermore, preliminary assessment of the secondary endpoints show improvement by at least five points in total KCCQ score, a validated tool qualified by the FDA for Clinical Outcome Assessment, was observed in 50% of patients evaluable (5 out of 10) at the six-month follow-up visit. These included four patients treated in Cohort 1 and one patient treated in Cohort 2. Of the evaluable patients, 50% (4 out of 8) had an improvement in the 6MWT (> 50 meters in distance walked) at six months post-infusion compared to pre-treatment baseline.

«Overall the data support that INXN-4001 is well tolerated in patients with chronic heart failure on an LVAD,» said Douglas L. CannTrust Licenses Reinstated for Vaughan Manufacturing Facility

Company Expects Products to be Available in Q4 2020

VAUGHAN, ON, Aug. 6, 2020  /PRNewswire/ – CannTrust Holdings Inc. («CannTrust» or the «Company») announced today that it has received notice from Health Canada that the Company’s licenses for its Vaughan Manufacturing Facility (the «Vaughan facility») have been reinstated, effective immediately.

Over the past 12 months, CannTrust has been working diligently to resolve regulatory deficiencies within its business. On May 29, 2020, the Company confirmed it had received notice of license reinstatement for its Fenwick Perpetual Harvest Facility and immediately recommenced cultivation operations at this location, which are proceeding as planned.

«Our license reinstatement is the result of an enormous amount of hard work by the CannTrust team,» said Greg Guyatt, Chief Executive Officer at CannTrust. «Today marks the beginning of the next chapter in CannTrust’s history. We have used the last 12 months to improve every aspect of our business, placing a determined focus on regulatory compliance as we remediated, restructured, and evolved. We are excited to return to work with our partners to provide our consumers and patients with high-quality cannabis products.»

CannTrust will restart manufacturing operations at its Vaughan facility imminently. With all licenses now reinstated, the Company expects to have cannabis products available during the fourth quarter of 2020.

«CannTrust has undergone significant organizational and operational changes as part of our remediation activities,» said Dr. Ilana Platt, the Company’s Chief Regulatory Officer. «Regulatory compliance, risk management, and effective oversight are integral to everything we do.»

CannTrust remains under CCAA protection to facilitate the Company’s efforts to resolve its civil litigation exposures and complete its review of strategic alternatives. These efforts are ongoing, and the Company is unable to predict either their timing or their outcome. In the meantime, the Company remains without meaningful revenues and has terminated or laid-off a significant portion of its workforce. CannTrust plans to begin operations at its Vaughan facility immediately following today’s announcement as an important next step towards rebuilding stakeholder trust and delivering high-quality, innovative products to its patients and customers.
