BEVs market is increasing, with the major automotive companies, like BMW, and Mercedes, starting to introduce into the market an increasing number of electric battery vehicles, in parallel to the main BEVs company like Tesla, and Toyota. FCEVs on the other hand are still at the demonstration stage.

In April 2019 Daimler stepped back from the development of the GLC F-Cell, after many years of investigation of fuel cells technologies. Besides this decision, Daimler did not completely abandon the hydrogen powertrain, but mostly shifted its focus to a different application. In fact, a collaboration with Volvo to develop fuel cell heavy-duty vehicles will possibly begin in September 2020, which will define a new chapter for the hydrogen technologies.

Although the FCEVs have not reached large scale production, the long-term plan adopted by several countries is to implement the adoption of FCEVs among other applications. The idea is to develop a hydrogen network, which aims the adoption of hydrogen as an energy carrier in different sectors. In other words, the development of the so-called hydrogen economy.

As analyzed in the new IDTechEx report, «The Hydrogen Economy, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Production Methods«, many countries are already involved in the development of a hydrogen economy. The necessity of the hydrogen economy is driven by the requirement of reducing pollutant emissions while achieving a higher energy independence. Within the different sectors addressed by hydrogen economies, the automotive sector is one of the first to be developed. Countries like Germany and Japan have already installed a considerable number of hydrogen refueling stations (HRS), besides promoting the adoption of hydrogen technologies.

The main reason behind this choice is to reduce the cost of hydrogen. A large-scale adoption of FCEVs, and hydrogen, would facilitate the adoption of hydrogen and related applications.

As explained in the hydrogen economy report released by IDTechEx, many countries are involved in this process and is likely that others will join to boost the adoption of green resources and fulfilling the Paris Agreement adopted by several nations.

WASHINGTON, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Hip Hop Caucus, the political arm of Hip Hop, is re-launching their Respect My Vote! non-partisan campaign just in time for the 2020 election. Respect My Vote! is the longest running, most successful Hip Hop voter mobilization campaign. This year, the 2020 campaign is focused on ensuring communities are able to vote amidst the COVID-19 crisis, returning citizens exercise their right to vote, and young people are inspired to vote on issues such as racial justice and climate justice.

People can register to vote and sign up to vote by mail at www.respectmyvote.com, and join the campaign by pledging to vote, signing up to volunteer in their communities, and spreading the word through their personal social media platforms.  The Respect My Vote! campaign initially launched in 2008 and over the years received participation from influential voices in Hip Hop culture such as T.I., 2 Chainz, Keke Palmer, Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Simmons and Amber Rose amongst many others.

«2020 is the year of truth. There has never been a more critical time than now for young Black, Indigenous and People of Color to vote,» said Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr., the President and Founder of Hip Hop Caucus. «Respect My Vote! engages the Hip Hop community because the power of our cultural expression is a force that we must also bring to the polls. We will not let our democracy be threatened, the Hip Hop community will vote this November.»

Since 2008, this campaign has focused on long-term goals such as establishing voting as part of young people’s civic lifestyle and motivating young people to be voices and activists for justice, equity, and sustainability. The campaign is targeting states such as AL, CO, FL, GA, MI, MN, NC, NV, PA, TX, VA, and WI.

This year, the election season has been hit with its most notable obstacle, COVID-19 safety concerns. As a result, Hip Hop Caucus’ Respect My Vote! is prepared with response strategies to protect voters from voter suppression and is helping voters register for mail-in ballots in states where absentee voting is available. The campaign also educates the public on voter laws by state including ex-offenders’ right to vote, debunking the myth that if convicted of a felony, you permanently lose your right to vote.

For more information about the Respect My Vote! campaign, to sign up to volunteer, and to get informed voting laws by state, please visit www.respectmyvote.com.

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The valuation analysts at Kelley Blue Book today reported the estimated average transaction price for a light vehicle in the United States was $38,378 in July 2020. New-vehicle prices increased $749 (up 2%) from July 2019, while decreasing $473 (down 1.2%) from last month.

«While up from last year, new-car transaction prices are finally starting to dip from last month,» said Steve Lind, vice president of operations for Kelley Blue Book. «This could be a result of supply shortages of highly contented, more desirable vehicles, which may cause some consumers to select second-choice trims. Shoppers’ aversion to luxury vehicles continues with prices down 1% from last month.»

Non-luxury transaction prices are up nearly 4% year-over-year, likely the result of high SUV and truck sales. While many automakers have benefitted, momentum is slowing for several key manufacturers. Nissan North America and Hyundai Kia, which have been particularly strong in recent months and were up 8.9% and 7.6% year-over-year respectively, have dropped 1.5% from last month. Ford Motor Company also is down 1.3% from June 2020.

Supply and inventory will remain a challenge in high demand segments due to factory shutdowns in the spring and potential shutdowns before year-end. Used-car prices are still at record-breaking levels, and in some segments, there are models coming close to new-car prices, including sports cars. Performance trims of the Challenger and Mustang are reporting strong values, while the all-new mid-engine 2020 Corvette is currently bringing $15,000 over MSRP in the used market.

Coldwell Banker Welcomes Affiliates Under Inclusive Ownership Program

MADISON, N.J., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, a Realogy (NYSE: RLGY) brand, today announced the first three brokerages joining the brand as part of its new <a target="_blank"…

MADISON, N.J., Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC, a Realogy (NYSE: RLGY) brand, today announced the first three brokerages joining the brand as part of its new Inclusive Ownership program.

Coldwell Banker welcomes three new brokerages: Coldwell Banker Omni Group in Santa Ana, Calif., owned by Tina Marie and Rich Hernandez; Coldwell Banker Action Holdings in Grand Island, Neb., owned by Amber Schuppan; and Coldwell Banker Commercial Northland in Flagstaff, Ariz., owned by Becky McBride.

The Inclusive Ownership program, first announced in February, is an initiative to increase representation of minority, women, LGBTQ+ and veteran entrepreneurs in the real estate industry. Each new brokerage that affiliates with Coldwell Banker will not pay the initial franchise fee and will receive financial incentives to support diverse business owners in the critical first two years of business. Benefits include up to $100,000 of funding, royalty fee rebates as well as education and mentorship. Owners will also receive membership and conference registration for an industry partner group of choice, such as the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the Asian Real Estate Association of America.

Coldwell Banker Omni Group and Coldwell Banker Action Holdings served the real estate needs of their communities as independent brokerages and are now joining the Coldwell Banker brand. Coldwell Banker Omni Group, owned by Tina and Rich Hernandez, helps the Latino community in Orange County, Calif., build generational wealth through home ownership and multi-family investment properties. Coldwell Banker Action Holdings, owned by Amber Schuppan, helps family-owned farms maintain land and generate income. Amber also advocates for fair housing in her state as a member of the Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Northland, owned by Becky McBride, is a Coldwell Banker residential affiliate that expanded to a commercial brokerage. It will be the first woman-owned Coldwell Banker Commercial brokerage in Arizona.

Mabél Guzmán, vice president of association affairs for the National Association of REALTORS® also recently joined Coldwell Banker Realty in Chicago as a real estate agent, citing the brand’s diversity program as a key factor in her decision.

QUOTES
«I am extremely excited to welcome three new brokerages to the Coldwell Banker brand. We are at a crucial moment where it is no longer enough to have conversations about diversity, and brands like Coldwell Banker must act. This program will increase diversity among our brokerages, supporting minority, women, LGBTQ+, and veteran entrepreneurs. When we increase diversity among our broker-owners and focus on a culture of inclusion brokerages will better serve groups that are traditionally underrepresented as home and property owners. Coldwell Banker can help build wealth for diverse communities and promote equal opportunity for all.»

M. Ryan Gorman, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker Real Estate

«The Omni Group has helped build generational wealth for the Latino community in Orange County for many years. Owning a house and generating rental income can help families pay for critical expenses such as college tuition. We’re thrilled to be a part of Coldwell Banker because the Latino community deserves to have a powerful brand with luxury offerings behind their real estate transactions. We are confident this partnership can help us grow our business and better serve our clients. The Coldwell Banker brand is a great partner, we’ve embarked on an amazing journey since making the decision to affiliate.»

Tina Marie Hernandez, broker-owner of Coldwell Banker Omni Group

«Coldwell Banker’s Inclusive Ownership program supported us so we could do everything right as soon as we affiliated with the brand. We recognized we needed a strong brand behind our company to attract clients in our community. Through this program we’ve been able to expand our office, attract agents with area expertise and train our recruits well. It sets us up for success as a woman-owned business that values diversity and we look forward to many years ahead of serving the Grand Island community. I’m excited to work with the bright, supportive team at Coldwell Banker.»

Amber Schuppan, broker-owner of Coldwell Banker Action Holdings

«As our company has expanded throughout Northern Arizona, I knew it was time to expand into the commercial real estate sector, utilizing the resources of the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand. The technology, marketing support and education from the Coldwell Banker Commercial brand is amazing and will have an enormous impact on our successes. I’m excited to pursue this great opportunity and launch this new endeavor as a woman-owned commercial real estate brokerage.»

Becky McBride, broker-owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Northland

«I recently joined the Coldwell Banker brand because I’ve been watching what it has been doing for some time now, specifically regarding its strategic direction of inclusion and diversity. It’s not just platitudes, they put an emphasis on increasing diversity and representation in our industry and put programs in place to support that.»

-Mabél Guzmán, agent with Coldwell Banker Realty in Chicago and vice president of association affairs for the National Association of REALTORS®

WILLOUGHBY, Ohio, Aug. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Robert Black, Co-Owner of Catoctin Mountain Orchard in Thurmont, MD, has been named the 2020 Apple Grower of the YearSM by American Fruit Grower® and Western Fruit Grower® magazines, published by Meister Media Worldwide.

Black, the 32nd recipient of the award, which began in 1989, will be honored Aug. 20 during a virtual edition of the annual USApple Outlook and Marketing Conference.

«I’m amazed and shocked that I have won this award and appreciate being among my peers who have gone before me,» Black, who shares co-ownership with his sister, Patricia, said. «This is absolutely an amazing thing to have happen to my family. My sister has always been the one to stay home to keep the home fires burning and allow me to travel. She certainly has been a great partner in this operation.»

David Eddy, the Editor of American Fruit Grower and Western Fruit Grower magazines and a member of the award selection committee, said the public nomination process spoke well of Black’s stature within the industry.

«I’ll never forget the day I called Bob to tell him he had won the award. Because he’s such a humble man, at first he actually insisted we must have made a mistake,» Eddy said. «It just reinforced what I had already read in the many enthusiastic nominations we received endorsing Bob, from university researchers — in multiple states, no less — to numerous fellow growers. Bob is definitely a popular winner.»

Sponsored by Valent USA, the Apple Grower of the Year program honors individuals who have gone beyond the confines of the orchard and, through their involvement and leadership, have made genuine impacts on the apple industry.

«Bob demonstrates a willingness to listen and an openness to change that all come together as his personal recipe for success,» Dion McBay, Vice President of Sales with Valent USA, said. «Bob is a clear advocate for sustainable agriculture and has made investments and improvement in irrigation technology, integrated pest management, and the use of biological and biorational tools. Beyond his commitment to sustainable agriculture and his operational improvements, Bob is a relentless advocate for Maryland agriculture and a proud participant in the U.S. apple industry.»

Black represents the second Maryland farming operation to win the award, following Evan Milburn and his late son Nathan, of Milburn Orchards, who were honored in 2008. He is highly regarded for displaying leadership on the state and regional levels.

«Bob Black has been a staple in the Mid-Atlantic fruit-growing region for decades,» Mark Boyer, the Co-Owner of Ridgetop Orchards in Fishertown, PA, said. «He has served on almost every board position available both in fruits and vegetables to social and community. Always the first to help and the last to complain.»

Black has excelled in the areas of commercial planting and direct marketing and has served on the boards of the International Fruit Tree Association and Maryland State Horticultural Society. He is a member of the Midwest Apple Improvement Association (MAIA), which was founded by growers to produce varieties for its membership.

«I don’t know any other grower who has more variety trials in progress,» Brad Hollabaugh, the Apple Grower of the Year winner in 2000, representing Hollabaugh Bros., said. «Bob is also always willing to share tricks, techniques, and the results of his many production endeavors. Equally, he’s an avid listener to other growers, always looking for ways to improve his operation.»

USApple President and CEO Jim Bair credited Black for devoting his career to making a meaningful impact on the apple industry.

«When he is not working on groundbreaking innovations in his orchards, he is helping and championing other growers,» Bair said. «From his past leadership on USApple’s board to his ongoing commitment to represent Maryland every year during our Capitol Hill Day, he is always at the ready to advocate for the industry. We congratulate Bob for this much-deserved honor.»

About The Award: The Apple Grower of the YearSM Award is presented annually by American Fruit Grower® and Western Fruit Grower® magazines and honors apple growers who have gone beyond the confines of the orchard and have, through their involvement and leadership, made a real impact on the apple industry.
