In his Wednesday order, Federal Justice Steve Jones said the State, Black Voters Matter, and other plaintiffs in the voting rights lawsuit over the purge of tens of thousands of voters, should meet to work out «discrepancies» in the State’s voter purge list, errors which will stop citizens from voting in the run-off. |
At 11 a.m., LaTosha Brown and attorneys will present the corrected list to the Sec. of State (press invited) and ask the voters, including a College Park voter joining her, be returned to the rolls immediately —otherwise they will be wrongly denied their vote in the run-off.
The attorneys will back the demand by serving Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger with a formal notice of a new federal lawsuit should he fail to comply or stall on the Court’s opinion that the parties meet to correct the purge lists.
The plaintiffs, including Black Voters Matter Fund, Rainbow/PUSH, Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, and Transformative Justice Coalition will hit Raffensperger with a new federal suit unless Raffensperger complies.
The list of wrongly purged voters will be supplied by experts with the Palast Investigative Fund, updated from the report by journalist Greg Palast released in September by the ACLU of Georgia.
Plaintiffs and attorneys will answer questions on the Capitol steps at 11:30 a.m.
