CINCINNATI, Dec. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — GoSun, a pioneer in the fuel-free industry, has been named a CES 2021 Innovation Awards Honoree by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), for the company’s GoSun Flow water purifier in the category Sustainability, Eco-Design & Smart Energy. The GoSun Flow uses solar energy to filter 99.99% of pathogens from water, and can function as a portable handwashing station, hot shower, and a source of clean drinking water, to name just a few of the options.

«We are ecstatic to be honored by CTA for our innovative Flow, a solar-powered clean water and sanitation system that underscores GoSun’s goal of creating products that allow us to always be prepared while not having to rely on fuel,» said inventor and entrepreneur Patrick Sherwin, GoSun’s CEO. «GoSun is committed to making the highest quality and most accessible solar-powered products that can be relied on, day in and day out, and the Flow is a seriously great innovation that we will introduce at CES 2021. Particularly in these uncertain times, being able to pump, purify and deliver large amounts of clean water is essential. The flow also allows you an easy way to wash your hands any time, anywhere.»

What sets the GoSun FLOW apart? It provides filtered water at the flip of a switch, recharges with the sun and provides more ways to hydrate. It does not require pumping, sucking, straining or waiting. Instead of manual pumping, GoSun FLOW’s USB-powered pump does the work, pumping over 100 gallons of water on a single charge, then is easily recharged or powered with the sun. It is difficult to find uncontaminated water when off-grid, but Flow’s three-stage cartridge filter is long-lasting and effortless. The FLOW includes:

  • Collapsible Sink: The collapsible sink fills up to nine liters, folds down to just two inches and the integrated basket handles make it easy to carry a full load.
  • Filter: The unique three-stage filter removes 99.99% of pathogens, including viruses, thanks to a powerful, electropositive charge generated by nano alumina fibers. It does not require backflushing or rinsing, yet it lasts for up to 1,000 liters.
  • Pump: Drawing only two watts, this diaphragm pump can move about one liter per minute while running on any USB source. No regular maintenance, plus the pump is fully serviceable for years of water delivery.
  • Flex Faucet with Clamp and Switch: A faucet, showerhead, clamp and switch assembly in one, this highly flexible element sets up anywhere in seconds. The clamp can fit up to two inches and the flexible hose can be positioned in any direction.
  • Powerbank: Lithium ion is a game changer. This 18.5wh powerbank can run the Flow for hours, but just in case, you can keep it charged with the integrated solar panel. The powerbank can also charge a phone.

Flow is ideal for camping, boating, off-grid, emergency-preparedness and more, and at just 2.75 pounds travels easily. According to Sherwin, «With today’s amazing technology, why limit your water filter to a single function? Now when you’re traveling, camping or just out and about, you have everything AND the kitchen sink. «

People want to live more independent, healthy and resilient lives. GoSun has developed breakthrough solar technologies that can cook, cool, light, power electronics and now, purify and deliver water. These affordable products are all portable, highly efficient and free of harmful emissions.

The 2021 CES Innovation Award is another feather in the cap for GoSun, previously been honored by CTA with a 2019 Climate Change Innovator Award, and was Chosen as CTA’s 2017 Small Business of the Year.

GoSun CEO Patrick Sherwin, an entrepreneur and inventor, is available for phone and virtual interviews. Patrick has committed his professional life to clean technology, dedicated to finding solutions to create a healthy, resilient future, aided by his deep roots in outdoor adventure.

Drivers Hit the Road with Lassa Snoways 4 in Heavy Winter Conditions

PR Newswire

BRUSSELS, 17 December 2020 /PRNewswire Policy/ — Following a review under the recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU, the Council updated the list of countries for which travel restrictions should be lifted. As stipulated in the Council recommendation, this list will continue to be reviewed regularly and, as the case may be, updated.

Based on the criteria and conditions set out in the recommendation, as from 16 December member states should gradually lift the travel restrictions at the external borders for residents of the following third countries:

Australia

Japan

New Zealand

Rwanda

Singapore

South Korea

Thailand

China, subject to confirmation of reciprocity

Travel restrictions should also be gradually lifted for the special administrative regions of China Hong Kong and Macao, subject to confirmation of reciprocity.

Residents of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican should be considered as EU residents for the purpose of this recommendation.

The criteria to determine the third countries for which the current travel restriction should be lifted cover in particular the epidemiological situation and containment measures, including physical distancing, as well as economic and social considerations. They are applied cumulatively. Reciprocity should also be taken into account regularly and on a case-by-case basis.

Schengen associated countries (Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, Switzerland) also take part in this recommendation.

Council Recommendation amending Council Recommendation (EU) 2020/912 on the temporary restriction on non-essential travel into the EU and the possible lifting of such restriction

Background

On 16 March 2020, the Commission adopted a communication recommending a temporary restriction of all non-essential travel from third countries into the EU for one month. EU heads of state or government agreed to implement this restriction on 17 March. The travel restriction was extended for a further month respectively on 8 April 2020 and 8 May 2020.

On 11 June the Commission adopted a communication recommending the further extension of the restriction until 30 June 2020 and setting out an approach for a gradual lifting of the restriction on non-essential travel into the EU as of 1 July 2020.

On 30 June the Council adopted a recommendation on the gradual lifting of the temporary restrictions on non-essential travel into the EU, including an initial list of countries for which member states should start lifting the travel restrictions at the external borders. The list is reviewed regularly and, as the case may be, updated.

The Council recommendation is not a legally binding instrument. The authorities of the member states remain responsible for implementing the content of the recommendation. They may, in full transparency, lift only progressively travel restrictions towards countries listed.

A Member State should not decide to lift the travel restrictions for non-listed third countries before this has been decided in a coordinated manner.

HOPLAND, Calif., Dec. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Bonterra Organic Vineyards («Bonterra») was awarded the 2020 Best Organic Initiative award by the drinks business (U.K.) for its widely viewed Tastes Like Saving the Planet advertising campaign. In its 11th year, the Green Awards recognize leaders in the global beverage trade industry who are catalyzing change with their environmental and social performance. Bonterra was commended by the publication this year for using humor to raise awareness among consumers about the importance of climate action, while also touting the benefits of regenerative organic farming, including better taste in the glass.

The Green Awards recognize global beverage leaders who are catalyzing change with environmental and social performance

The annual Green Awards celebrate businesses that are going above and beyond to reduce their impact on the environment, making a difference in combating the climate crisis, and promoting news of their efforts to a wide audience. Acknowledging that organic wines, beers and spirits have entered the mainstream as a popular consumer choice, the judges this year sought to recognize a company or brand for its work in bringing a fresh approach to organics in the production, retail or on-trade arena, with an emphasis on efforts launched in the last 12 months.

«We are honored that our campaign was recognized by the drinks business among global organic initiatives as one that stands out, and makes an impact,» noted Rodrigo Maturana, VP of Marketing & International Business at Fetzer Vineyards, parent company for Bonterra. «We had a lot of fun with this campaign, which pokes fun at wine clichés while highlighting the important fact that regenerative organic farming can help save the planet,» he added.

Bonterra’s innovative Tastes Like Saving the Planet campaign ran from August through November 2020 predominantly on popular streaming platforms and targeted digital media networks. Garnering some nine million completed video views, the campaign was an on-brand complement to Bonterra’s regenerative organic advocacy efforts and comprehensive sustainability initiatives, ultimately elevating awareness for the transformational power of organics while building brand loyalty. Crucially, it also helped grow consumer awareness for how their purchases can help the planet—with a sip of good humor on the side.

In addition to the drinks business commendation, Bonterra is also the recipient of the 2020 California Green Medal in the Environment category, awarded earlier this year. Part of the Sixth Annual Sustainable Winegrowing Leadership Awards, the California Green Medal recognizes the leadership of wineries and vineyards committed to sustainability, and is presented by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, California Association of Winegrape Growers, Wine Institute, Lodi Winegrape Commission, Napa Valley Vintners, Sonoma County Winegrowers and Vineyard Team. Bonterra was among four awarded wineries and was singled out as the Environment winner, formally recognized as the California winery that «best demonstrates Environmental Stewardship through maximized environmental benefits from implementing sustainable practices.»

Up 21% this year,1 Bonterra has long been devoted to regenerative agriculture, farming exclusively organically since 1987. The winery’s mindful approach to farming includes beneficial practices like cover cropping, reduced tillage, compost application, animal grazing, integrated pest management, wildlife integration, and conservation of nearly 50% of its land as preserved wildland. These practices increase soil fertility and enhance the resilience of vineyards, with research indicating that regenerative agriculture leads to measurable climate benefits like increased organic carbon storage. Beyond the vineyard, Bonterra is certified Zero Waste and CarbonNeutral®, its energy is 100% green, and its team raises awareness for climate- and soil-beneficial legislation with legislators in California and Washington, D.C.

About Bonterra
Organically farmed and masterfully made, the Bonterra Organic Vineyards collection epitomizes wines that are perfectly in tune with nature. A celebration of the vitality derived from organic cultivation, the portfolio features wines coaxed from the earth by careful farming practices carried out on a dynamic network of estate and partner farms throughout California. In addition to a widely available selection of organically farmed wines that includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Equinox Red, Young Red and Rosé, Bonterra crafts a trio of sought-after single-vineyard offerings from estate Biodynamic® vineyards in Mendocino County, and Elysian Collection Merlot, an elevated offering from organic grapes.

Long before organic produce filled the shelves of neighborhood groceries, the dedicated team at Bonterra was committed to organic and Biodynamic farming because they passionately believe that farms teeming with biodiversity— encompassing vines, insects and wildlife, and healthy soils—yield organic grapes leading to better wines. www.Bonterra.com

DAYTON, Ohio, Dec. 17, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, a leading provider of automotive dealership software, documents, and professional services, announced today that ReconTRAC®, a web-based software application that streamlines the vehicle reconditioning process, is now available to automotive retailers.

«Reconditioning is one of the most underserved areas of a dealership from a technology perspective,» said Robert Burnett, executive vice president of Business Development at Reynolds. «Managing the reconditioning process is often done manually and is fraught with inefficiencies and a lack of accountability.

«ReconTRAC addresses these issues by empowering dealers to perfect their vehicle reconditioning process and identify what departments are slowing the process down,» Burnett continued. «ReconTRAC can take the time needed to move a vehicle through reconditioning down from a few weeks to as quickly as a few days.»

ReconTRAC offers a range of potential benefits for retailers including:

  • Reduced time between tasks with automated workflows, resulting in quicker total turnaround times.
  • A customizable interface to match their pre-existing reconditioning steps.
  • Tracking on cycle times to reveal inefficiencies and provide accountability.
  • A mobile application to increase flexibility and usability.

«When it comes to improving efficiency and department performance in reconditioning pre-owned vehicles, it’s impossible to overstate the benefit of automation with a customizable application,» said Brad Schafer, co-creator and director of ReconTRAC. «The degree to which this software can speed up inventory turnover translates into significant increases in gross profit for retailers.»

«Ultimately, this joint offering from ReconTRAC and Reynolds is indicative of our shared commitment to improving dealer performance in the used vehicle space,» said Doug Grimaldi, co-creator of ReconTRAC. «Our solution is uniquely positioned in this market to offer end-to-end digital process tracking and an active fix to manual reconditioning. We’re confident in the value ReconTRAC will deliver to retailers and can’t wait to go to work for them.»
