NEW YORK, March 1, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, today announced México’s first Hyde hotel and branded residences to be built in Mazatlán, a Mexican coastal resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. The project is being developed in collaboration with owner, Daniel Cárdenas Family, an international agriculture company based in Sinaloa with more than 70 years of experience exporting vegetables to the US and Canada. This news comes on the heels of Accor’s recent announcement regarding its planned venture with Ennismore, which will see the creation of one of the world’s largest and fastest growing lifestyle operators set to include Hyde Hotel & Residences.

Hyde Hotel & Residences Mazatlán is scheduled to break ground in late 2021 and will open in late 2023, Dakota Development will provide all design and technical insight for the expansive 75,277 square-foot waterfront property with 300 feet of private beach access. Offering a range of accommodation options for leisure guests and business travelers, the hotel will boast 150 guestrooms, including 22 suites. The luxury lifestyle property will also feature a separate residential component comprised of 50 one-, two- and three-bedroom premium residences. On-site amenities are created with the range of guests and residents in mind, complete with a pool overlooking the seaside waters, spa and fitness facility, retail boutique and meeting and event space for groups. Five dining outlets will include a full-service restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, gourmet café, poolside grill, and specialty bar.

All 2022 Outlanders come with Apple CarPlay®3 (wireless on SE and above) and Android AutoTM4 (wired) integration standard. A 9-inch SDA center touchscreen is available, which includes a built-in navigation system, SiriusXM® compatibility, wireless smartphone charging, and Mitsubishi Connect with Safeguard and Remote Services and a 24-month free trial. Mitsubishi Connect is also available on models with the 8-inch SDA center touchscreen. Optional on select trims is a 10-speaker BOSE®5 audio system. Capability and Confidence
The 2022 Outlander rides on a next-generation platform developed through its partnership in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. The newly engineered platform offers a stable foundation for a more confident and comfortable driving experience. With hot stamped ultra-high tensile-strength steel used in key areas, torsional rigidity is increased by 33% over the previous model.

Powering the all-new Outlander is a newly developed 2.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine mated to an eight-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Sport mode. Fuel economy for this all-new vehicle is 24/31/27 (city/highway/combined) for 2WD models and 24/30/26 for all-wheel drive models.6

Mitsubishi’s motorsport-derived Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC)2 all-wheel drive system can be added to any 2022 Outlander trim level for an additional $1,800. This optional system provides drivers with six drive modes to adjust the electronically-controlled 4WD system, allowing drivers to feel more confident in all road conditions. MUNICH, March 1, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Today, BayWa r.e. launches its new «Decade That Matters» report, a deep dive into online climate discussions over the past 10 years and what these may tell us about where we are heading over the next 10 years. The report highlights how attitudes to the environment have shifted, how discourse was becoming more urgent and how Covid-19 has affected the global online climate conversation.    

The report has been formed through the curation and analysis of 10-years of trend data across social media, news and blogging platforms, including Twitter, Reddit, Tumblr and Google. The report draws on 1.3 trillion public documents and, to get a clearer view of the recent rapidity of change, includes a more specific investigation into the conversations from 2018 to 2020.

The overall volume of conversations around the topic of ‘climate change’ grew by 110% in 2019 when compared to 2018. But the report also shows a decade-long international shift in public awareness and an evolution in vocabulary as our discussions have moved from ‘global warming’, to ‘climate change’ and, most recently, the use of more urgent language and the beginnings of a further shift towards the more immediate ‘climate crisis’.

Carbon-related conversations (zero, neutral, etc.) are also growing – up 133% year on year in 2019 compared to 2018, and up a further 26% in 2020. Similarly, mentions of ‘clean energy’ and ‘renewable energy’ have grown from under one million per month in 2010, to as many as six million per month in 2019.

Climate change takes a backseat during Covid-19

This increasing conversation was stunted when Covid-19 hit the media in 2020. In the face of the pandemic, the volume of discussions around both the climate and renewable energy solutions decreased. Looking at all online platforms as a whole, mention volumes of climate topics are down more than a million per month from a peak in January, falling 41% on Twitter and 24% across news publications.

The power of humans faced with no alternative

With offices shutting down globally due to the virus, ‘Working from Home’-related conversations in 2020 were five times higher over the course of March, April and May, than they were in January and February, while searches for the term have jumped by several orders of magnitude.

This ability to adapt to change provides a source of inspiration. Indeed, through the conversations that have taken place, we see the pandemic has proved our capability to respond and react to threats on a global scale – through societal reengineering, governmental adaptability and industry-wide reorganisation.

Americans Express Disappointment In COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout; Express Confidence In President Biden’s Pandemic Management

NEW YORK, March 1, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — A recent survey of U.S. citizens conducted by Kekst CNC, a leading global strategic communications firm, assessed Americans’ thoughts on reopening the economy, the strength of the Covid-19 vaccine rollout, confidence in government institutions, and how businesses are responding to the pandemic.

 

Key findings:

  • Despite increasing concern for the economy, Americans are still wary about re-opening too soon;
  • More Americans than not think the Covid-19 vaccine rollout is being handled poorly, despite their increased willingness to take the vaccine;
  • Following the inauguration of Joe Biden, confidence has grown in the President’s handling of the pandemic;
  • Americans’ preference for Working From Home continues to drive greater job satisfaction and productivity;
  • Approval of businesses’ response to the pandemic decreased since December, across all industries.

According to James Johnson, Senior Advisor for Research at Kekst CNC, «As the United States continues down the path toward full reopening, Americans are watching the vaccine rollout closely to determine when restrictions may be lifted. Our study indicated that 36% of respondents feel the rollout is going poorly, and 41% feel it is happening too slowly.»

Despite 34% of respondents highlighting a need to prioritize the economy over slowing the spread of COVID-19, 48% of Americans indicated they would only feel comfortable fully lifting restrictions when most adults in the world had received the vaccine. Generally, Americans indicated an interest in loosening many restrictions, but keeping some in place.

Johnson noted, «In addition to highlighting the widespread need for vaccinations to remove COVID-19 restrictions, 64% of respondents showed an increased willingness to take the vaccine, up from 58% in December. While confidence in the vaccine has grown, only 36% of respondents indicated that they are comfortable removing restrictions for people who have received the vaccine more quickly than those who have not.»

«While the past year has been challenging in many ways, Americans continue to show a preference towards Working From Home. American respondents indicated a 24% net increase in job performance, a 19% net increase in concentration while working, and an 8% net increase in happiness at work. These numbers were by far the highest of any market surveyed, with every other market besides Sweden reporting net decreases in these indicators,» concluded Johnson.

The survey found that public opinion of American institutions, with the exception of the President, has generally decreased since December. President Biden had a net approval rating of +15%, compared to his predecessor’s final net approval rating of -15%. Approval of the Federal government remained static at -6% net approval, while approval of the CDC, State, and Local governments continued to fall.

In assessing the positive and negative impacts of certain industries during the pandemic, all sectors saw a decline in approval from December of 2020. Despite this, online and food/essential retailers continued to receive relatively high net approval ratings of +51% and +42%, respectively. Of all industries included, only the social media sector held a negative approval rating, which it has done since the survey began.

Comparing the U.S. to the other countries surveyed:

  • Over half of Americans (50%) were worried about local businesses in their area, a close third behind Germany’s 51% and the U.K.’s 57%, but far from Sweden and Japan’s 32% and 29% respectively.
  • American respondents were the second-most concerned about the health of people in the country as a whole (55%), the highest it had been since July (57%). 58% of the respondents in the U.K. were also worried about the health of people in their country as a whole, the highest level recorded since April. Less than half of respondents in Germany (48%), France (46%), Sweden (39%), and Japan (35%) expressed a high level of concern for the health of people in their country as a whole.
  • U.S. and French respondents were the most likely to say they feared for their own health (46%), followed by those in Germany (44%), the U.K. (41%), Japan (34%) and Sweden (31%).
