WILLIAMS, Ariz., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Bearizona, a popular wildlife park devoted to providing homes for wild animals in need, today announced the completion of Kinder Cubs, a new 29,000-square-foot habitat for the recently rescued grizzly bear cubs, Hanna, Sky and Crockett. As the healthy bear cubs continue to grow, Bearizona is moving them into a bigger and better habitat, which will serve as an interim home while the park finalizes The Grizzly Encounter exhibit, coming in early 2022.

«We’re extremely proud to be offering these amazing and not-so-little Grizzly cubs an equally amazing, and more spacious new home as they grow, while we continue to build the best grizzly bear enclosure in the country,» said Animal Director Dave O’Connell. «These cubs are important animal ambassadors because they will educate guests from all over the world about Grizzly bears and the habitats in which they live.»

Located in the walk-thru section of Bearizona, the Kinder Cubs exhibit offers an expansive space for the three bear cubs to roam. It boasts a waterfall, a stream and a large viewable cave. The exhibit can also be viewed through Bearizona’s webcams, where viewers have unlimited access to witness the bears’ substantial growth and impressive ability to destroy any enrichment toy they are given.

Since their rescue, Hanna, Sky and Crockett have collectively gained 469 pounds, more than quintupling in size. As the weather cools, the siblings can be found spending their time roughhousing, digging, and playing in their pond.

Bearizona has kept close track of their progress, growth and personalities along the way, and has documented their storied and touching journey to the park in a new documentary titled «A Journey to a New Home.» The documentary film, which features an intimate, inside look at the cubs’ rescue and rehabilitation along with insights about wildlife conservation. Watch the sneak peak trailer by going to Bearizona.com/grizzly-cub-trailer.

In early 2022, Bearizona is slated to unveil the cubs’ final home, The Grizzly Encounter. The new Grizzly Encounter will incorporate expansive grounds and multilevel spaces for the bears to enjoy and guests to experience, featuring, a 200-foot by 24-foot cliff, two waterfalls, underwater viewing sections and a rock ridge from where people can look down, into the habitat, or view the grizzly ponds. Once complete, The Grizzly Encounter will be one of the largest and most impressive grizzly bear habitats in the United States.

Since it was founded in 2010, Bearizona has fast-become a must-see attraction when visiting the Grand Canyon’s South Rim or driving through Northern Arizona. The 160-acre facility is accredited by the Zoological Association of America and was voted among the top three wildlife parks by the annual USA Today Readers’ Choice Awards twice in the past three years. The drive- and walk-through park’s mission is to rescue wild animals in need of new homes and promote conservation by inviting visitors to view wildlife in spacious, natural environments.

For more information, visit http:// http://www.bearizona.com. Anyone who cannot make the journey to Bearizona to see the fast-growing cubs, can instead shop online for bear-themed gifts at http://shop.bearizona.com/cubs or watch them on the webcams at https://bearizona.com/experiences/cub-cams/.

SINGAPORE, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — As we usher in 2021, Americans are most looking forward to spending more quality time with loved ones (34%), being able to travel unhindered (20%) and doing things that matter or make a difference (16%).

The ‘What Matters 2021’ survey for Agoda also found that people are committed to traveling differently in 2021. Americans commit to traveling more with friends/family (29%), taking more spontaneous trips (19%), and traveling at a slower pace (16%), when they travel this year.

General data across markets

Like Americans, respondents surveyed across all markets are most looking forward to the same three things, with one in three looking forward to spending more quality time with loved ones. Interestingly, respondents 55 and above were most looking forward to traveling unhindered, while those between ages 25-54 were keen to spend quality time with family and friends, and youths (18-24) were most excited about making a difference in 2021.

The top things respondents are most committed to are traveling more with friends and family in 2021, taking more spontaneous trips as well as making more eco-friendly travel choices.

«2020 was a year of survival and of making the best of it. Despite all that struggle and hardship, our research shows that there’s a global desire for travel, connection, meaning and spending time with friends and family. Travel will resume eventually, because, ultimately, the human desire to travel is unstoppable,» said Tim Hughes, Vice President of Corporate Development, Agoda.

«At Agoda, we believe in the future of travel. Our research backs this up, confirming that travel is one of the top things people look forward to in 2021. More than that – people are committed to making a difference, traveling with people who matter, open to more unplanned, last-minute trips, and considering the environmental impact they make as they travel.»

Top things people are most looking forward to in 2021:

  • Spending more quality time with loved ones is what most people from United Kingdom (UK) and Thailand, the United States (US), the Philippines, Malaysia and China are most looking forward to in 2021.
  • Being able to travel unhindered is what Singaporeans, South Koreans and Japanese are most looking forward to doing in the new year.
  • Doing things that matter or make a difference is what Indonesians, Taiwanese, and Vietnamese are most looking forward to.
  • Getting closer to nature and the great outdoors is second on the list for Thais, and third for Japanese.
  • Fewer are looking forward to going back to the workplace in 2021. Respondents from China (1.2%), Japan (1.5%) and UK (2%) have the smallest proportion that are looking forward to being done with remote working, while Filipinos (9%), Vietnamese (7%) and Indonesians (7%) are more likely to look forward to returning to office.
  • Attending live, sporting or large-scale events is second least popular on the list, but those from US (8%), UK (8%) and Japan (7%) are more likely to look forward to that.

Age group data

  • Spending more quality time with loved ones is the top thing to look forward to for age groups 25-34, 35 – 44 and 45 – 54, while those aged 18-24 are most looking forward to doing things that matter, and respondents 55 and above are most looking forward to «being able to travel unhindered».
  • Getting closer to nature and the great outdoors is the third most popular thing respondents 55 and above were looking forward to.

Top travel commitments:

  • Traveling more with loved ones is the top thing all markets are most likely to commit to doing differently when traveling in 2021, with the exception of United Kingdom (UK) and Taiwan, where respondents are embracing the adventure and committing to taking more spontaneous trips, and the Japanese committing to travel at a slower pace.
  • Traveling at a slower pace is the second most popular commitment for Singaporeans and Malaysians.
  • Vietnamese, South Koreans, Filipinos, Thais and Indonesians are more likely to commit to travel sustainably. Commitment to making more eco-friendly travel choices comes in second for these markets.
  • Indonesians (16%), Thais (14%) and Japanese (13%) commit to consciously support less touristy destinations in the new year.

Age Group Data

  • Traveling more with loved ones is the top 2021 commitment across all age groups.
  • Those in age groups 25-34, 35-44, 45-54 are likely to commit to more eco-friendly travel choices, which stood as their second top commitment for the new year.
  • Traveling at a slower pace is second for those 55 and above.
  • Taking more spontaneous trips is the third most popular choice across all age groups (24-34, 35-44, 45-54 , 55+) except for those between ages 18 – 24 which was second among their commitments, and fourth most popular choice for 45-54 age group.

Iconic British Broadcast Journalist Anne Diamond To Be Godmother Of Newest Viking Ocean Ship

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Viking® (www.viking.com) today announced that revered British journalist and broadcaster Anne Diamond will be the godmother of its seventh ocean ship, Viking Venus®, which is scheduled to debut this spring. The 930-guest Viking Venus was «floated out» in June 2020 and is now under final construction at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

Anne is best known for her pioneering work on morning shows in the United Kingdom during the 1980s—along with a legendary career in frontline television that has lasted for more than 40 years. From the fall of the Berlin Wall, Australia’s bicentenary and the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, to interviews with Bette Davis, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh—Anne’s impressive journalistic journey has made her a household name. She has also been an inspirational campaigner, having pioneered the 1991 UK cot death campaign, following the death of her own son, Sebastian. The campaign saved over 20,000 babies lives, and has inspired other life-saving campaigns worldwide. She is the only non-medic ever to hold the Medal of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.

Additionally, Anne has been a key figure on Viking’s award-winning enrichment channel, Viking.TV (www.viking.tv). Viking.TV went live in March 2020, in the early stages of the pandemic, and was conceived as a way to build community, stay connected and share positive experiences while people are staying home, rather than traveling. Every Thursday since the launch of Viking.TV, Anne has interviewed a wide spectrum of significant figures with relationships to Viking, including world-renowned cellist and humanitarian Yo-Yo Ma; Xander Parish, principal ballet dancer at the Mariinsky Theatre; the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon; the Duke of Devonshire; explorer Robin Hanbury-Tenison, OBE; former PBS MASTERPIECE Executive Producer Rebecca Eaton, OBE; Downton Abbey’s «Mrs. Patmore,» actress Lesley Nicol; polar explorers Liv Arnesen and Ann Bancroft; NASA astronauts Dr. Anna Fisher and Dr. Richard Michael Linnehan; classical musicians Alma and Helen Deutscher; and bestselling authors Jeffrey Archer, Claire Cook, Robert Harris and Paul Schneider. Anne’s Thursday livestreams will continue in 2021, with upcoming guests in January to include former NASA astronaut Kathy Sullivan, who has made history in space and at sea as the first American woman to walk in space and the first woman to reach the deepest part of the ocean, and Sir Michael Palin the legendary British actor, broadcaster and writer. As with all Viking.TV content, Anne’s interviews are archived and available on-demand here.

«On behalf of the entire Viking family, we are delighted and honored to have Anne serve as the godmother of Viking Venus,» said Karine Hagen, Executive Vice President of Viking. «Since the day we paused operations, Anne immediately volunteered to help our guests and crew manage through this period of uncertainty. As Britain’s favorite face at breakfast and in the morning on British TV, Anne became the face of Viking.TV on her weekly Thursday livestreams, where she has interviewed many interesting friends of Viking, while brightening the days of nearly two million viewers. There is no one more deserving to become the godmother of Viking Venus than Anne.»

«I am thrilled and honored to be entrusted as godmother to the Viking Venus and cannot wait until we can celebrate her inaugural cruise in a safer and happier 2021. Back in March 2020, at the start of the global lockdown, when I rang my good friend Karine to ask if there was anything I could do, never did I think it might lead to such a fascinating journey. But exhilarating journeys are what Viking is all about! I am so proud to be part of the growth of the award-winning Viking.TV—with special thanks to all my inspirational interviewees—and now onwards, to the Viking Venus and a brighter outlook for travel.»

Viking.TV

For more than nine months, the award-winning Viking.TV has broadcast approximately 300 sessions featuring original cultural content and virtual Privileged Access to interesting people and places around the world. Livestreams and archived content on Viking.TV have been enjoyed by nearly two million viewers. The enrichment channel, where all content is free to watch, has resonated well with people during this unusual year; recently Viking.TV was honored with the «Silver-i Breakthrough Award for Innovation» at the 2020 Silver Travel Awards.

Recognizing the importance of daily routines during times of stress and isolation, livestream sessions on Viking.TV are a set hour for positivity and learning, taking place every day at 2 p.m. Eastern Time / 11 a.m. Pacific Time; all content is archived and available on-demand for anyone who cannot view at the original time of the broadcast. Also on Viking.TV there are more than 200 original short-form Destination Insight documentaries and 60 additional pieces of content from Viking Cultural Partners, with programming from TED, BBC’s Wonderstruck, Libera and more.

SAN PEDRO, Calif., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Battleship USS Iowa Museum, the historic U.S. Navy battleship that has become an iconic landmark and a top five museum and attraction in the Los Angeles area, today announced the launch of the Plank Owner program for the future National Museum of the Surface Navy. «Plank Owner» is an honorary title given to U.S. Navy and Coast Guard sailors who are assigned to a ship at the time of its commissioning. The free Plank Owner program provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for individuals to show their support for the nation’s first-ever Surface Navy Museum prior to its opening aboard Battleship USS Iowa in San Pedro at the Port of Los Angeles.

Each individual who registers as a Plank Owner will receive a full-color, downloadable, personalized certificate suitable for framing. Plank Owners who donate $25 or more to the Museum will have their names permanently added to the Museum’s Quarterdeck of Honor, forever identifying them among the initial supporters that helped bring the museum to life.

When it opens aboard Battleship USS Iowa in 2025, the National Museum of the Surface Navy will raise awareness of the U.S. Navy Surface Fleet’s important role in international relations, free trade, humanitarian assistance, and technological innovation. The state-of-the-art museum will include a 270-degree theater experience, simulated combat engagement center, an interactive holographic globe depicting Navy operations around the world, and an interactive recreation of a modern Navy ship bridge.

«After 243 years as the Navy’s premier fighting force, the nation is finally going to have a museum that is dedicated to the past, present and future of the Surface Navy,» explained retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Mike Shatynski, Chairman of the Board of the National Museum of the Surface Navy. «The Plank Owner program provides a way for civilians and veterans from all services to share in the excitement and enjoy a sense of ownership as we bring this incredible museum to life.»

The National Museum of the Surface Navy will find its home aboard the storied Battleship USS Iowa. Throughout her 50 years of service, USS Iowa and the thousands of brave sailors that served aboard her, operated around the world protecting America’s interests during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Cold War. The «Battleship of Presidents» welcomed several Commanders-in-Chief during her long, storied history including Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. USS Iowa, also known as «The Grey Ghost» and «The Big Stick», was decommissioned in October 1990, but continues to serve today.

«There is no better place for the first national museum dedicated to the Surface Navy to be located than aboard USS Iowa,» said Jonathan Williams, president and CEO of Battleship Iowa Museum. «As the namesake of the last class of Battleships, Iowa and the men and women that served aboard her contributed immeasurably to the country, serving missions around the world from WWII through the Cold War. We’re thrilled to become the home of the Museum and are looking forward to welcoming our Plank Owners aboard!»

DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Tyrata, Inc., a tire sensor and data management company, announces Tyrata.io, a cloud-based, comprehensive data portal for its IntelliTread™ tire tread monitoring products.  Tyrata.io is an easy-to-use, interactive portal that works in combination with Tyrata’s Drive-Over System (DOS) to provide direct tire measurement and real-time tread wear analysis for large vehicle fleets. The system fully automates tread depth measurements and analytics needed for efficient tire-management and safe vehicle operation. The solution has no hardware cost and is deployed within hours with no impact to current fleet operations.

The IntelliTread™ Drive-Over System was developed based on the unmet need for low-cost, easy-to-deploy tire tread monitoring in both passenger and commercial vehicle fleets. The Drive-Over System collects tire tread wear data when a vehicle drives over a speedbump-like unit that is now linked to Tyrata.io, a cloud-based data analytics platform to inform service and depot managers about the actual condition of their tires in real time.

By logging into their account at Tyrata.io, fleet operators will open a secure data portal where they can monitor the health of any individual tire with an ability to obtain instant tire history and analytics at a click of a button.  Operators can also get comprehensive, fleet-wide tire wear status and service recommendations for optimized tire maintenance and optimal vehicle safety.

Regular tire tread monitoring enhances data accuracy and provides clear tread wear trends, allowing the fleet operator to focus on tires that require service. With a DOS deployed at a vehicle service depot, Tyrata’s new data portal provides intuitive visualization of tire condition of the entire fleet, along with a daily or weekly report on any tires requiring maintenance.  Predictive analytics are also available for improved management of tires across the fleet. Outputs from the data portal can also be integrated with customer’s existing reporting and maintenance systems.

«The Tyrata data portal provides comprehensive tire data management, data visualization and maintenance analytics that is very easy for our customers to use,» said Luka Lojk, Tyrata’s VP of Sales and Marketing. «Within a few hours of deployment, our customers can be up and running, collecting tread data on all their vehicles, with no impact on fleet operations, positioning them to make data-driven maintenance decisions that optimize resources and improve safety.»

For a brief demonstration of Tyrata’s data portal, visit the Tyrata website at Tyrata.com.

Companies wishing to qualify and deploy DOS in Europe may contact Tyrata at Tyrata.Europe@Tyrata.com. In Japan, organizations may contact our local representative at Tyrata.Japan@Tyrata.com. For the USA and other global regions, contact Luka Lojk at Luka.Lojk@Tyrata.com or +1-704-593-8418 for more information.

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire-HISPANIC PR WIRE/ — Looking for a specialty license plate in Texas? Well, it’s easier to find one now than ever before! The website of the state’s official specialty license plate vendor, My Plates, is now home to all 450+ specialty license plates in Texas. The new site launch achieves the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) objective for the plate vendor to build a new online store that provides the public with the convenience of a one-stop-shop to acquire all specialty license plates, ending visits to multiple website stores.

My Plates New TV Advertisement promoting the one-stop-plate shop launches January 2021.

Until now, the state’s TxDMV-hosted website store offered more than 350 specialty plates, while separately the My Plates vendor website store offered an additional 120+ plates. Now Texans can simply go to the one online plate store that has it all, www.myplates.com .

When shopping the new www.myplates.com, Texans can be assured that all plates previously hosted on the TxDMV site remain at that same pricing, nothing has changed, except for convenience! Plates on the new site now range from as low as $30 a year, with the addition of personalization for as little as $40 a year. The new www.myplates.com also hosts all the state qualifying and military plates that the TxDMV previously hosted; these often available at no cost to qualifying Texans.

Also new is the responsive nature of the revamped My Plates website, making it simple for Texans to view, create and order their desired specialty plates across multiple different screen platforms. Now shop easily on your laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

A new marketing campaign is planned to launch in January 2021 that will showcase the new one-stop-shop for specialty license plates, letting Texans know that My Plates has got it all. Whether you’re looking for a military plate, a conservation plate or a cause related charity plate, My Plates has got that. Importantly, My Plates will still offer their existing range of exciting vendor plate designs including Texas’ most popular, Classic Black, that can hold a seven-letter personalized message.

My Plates launched in November 2009 and has sold close to 500,000 specialty plates across the state raising over $100M for the General Revenue of Texas. In addition to those revenues, they have also raised millions for various colleges, charities and scholarships.

«We’re very pleased with the success of the program to date, all thanks to the many Texans that have embraced and supported this program and we look forward to delivering continued success for the State of Texas» said My Plates President Steve Farrar

Texans wanting to know more can go online to www.myplates.com, or call the My Plates customer service center at 888-769-7528 (M-F 8a-5p) or visit your local county tax office.

Ansys Announces Winners of 2020 Art of Simulation Competition

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ —

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ —

/ Key Highlights

  • Ansys announces winners of its inaugural Art of Simulation competition
  • The competition commemorates Ansys’ 50th anniversary and showcases how engineers are using simulation to shape future innovations

The six winning entries of the first annual Ansys (NASDAQ: ANSS) Art of Simulation competition showcase how engineers are using Ansys’ cutting-edge simulation solutions to solve critical engineering challenges. The competition, which was launched to commemorate the company’s 50th anniversary, asked Ansys software users to share their most aesthetically pleasing simulation images to demonstrate the art that emerges from science.

The winning images range from the radiation patterns of the most complex fighter aircraft radar system to an analytical approach to improving kidney dialysis.

Internal judges narrowed down more than 200 submissions to select finalists across six categories for public voting. More than 3,600 votes were cast across the categories of 3D design, electromagnetics, structures, fluids, healthcare and multiphysics.

Art of Simulation Winners:

Healthcare:

  • Tamás Büki, CTO at YourAnastomosis, simulated the changes occurring in the walls of an artery used for kidney dialysis to better understand the changes seen during microscopic analysis of the artery tissue.

Structures:

  • Boukhssas Salim, a mechanical engineering student at the Mohammadia School of Engineers in Morocco, studied the structural deformation of a train disc brake to minimize brake distortion during operation and improve safety.

Fluids:

  • Rituja Kulkarni, CFD research assistant at the University of Cincinnati, analyzed the airflow in her apartment by simulating the wind entering through a window and balcony door, along with the effect of a rotating ceiling fan.

3D Design:

  • Rodrygo Karassawa Zanoni, senior specialist engineer with FEM3D, analyzed the structural stress and deformation of a jacket seafastening.

Electromagnetics:

  • Alexander Shalaby, a microwave design specialist at Meggitt Airframe Systems, simulated the radiation pattern of an active electronically scanned array radar with more than one thousand elements behind the nose cone of a fifth-generation fighter aircraft.

Multiphysics:

  • Rahul Singh, an engineer with BRP, used multiphysics simulations to account for heating, cooling, pressure and fatigue in the development of a 300 horsepower, two-stroke outboard marine engine.

«We were overwhelmed by the artistic expression of the images that emerged when engineers used simulation to solve their toughest challenges,» said Lynn Ledwith, vice president and chief marketing officer at Ansys. «This first year of the Art of Simulation competition was a tremendous success in terms of the number of high-quality submissions we received worldwide. The images showcased not only the winners’ technical achievements, but also captured the beauty, art and imagination of their work.»
