LONDON, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — International Game Technology PLC («IGT») (NYSE: IGT) announced today that the Company is leading a new era in cashless gaming by successfully completing the final stage of Nevada regulatory approval for its Resort Wallet™ carded cashless module, part of the award-winning IGT ADVANTAGE® casino management system. With this milestone, the module is approved for deployment throughout the State, enabling customers to give their casino patrons the option of a reduced-contact, safer, and effortless cashless slot gaming experience.

«Our Resort Wallet solution ensures that our customers can experience the increased liquidity, player convenience, and enhanced safety that only cashless gaming can deliver,» said Ryan Reddy, IGT Vice President, VLT, Systems and Payments Products. «This solution will heighten the player experience to new levels while positioning our customers as technology leaders. We’re grateful to the Nevada Gaming Control Board for enabling this momentous debut in the State.»

The approved Resort Wallet carded cashless module enables players to use a loyalty card to transfer cash into a secure digital wallet from either the casino cash desk or any Resort Wallet-enabled slot machine. Players can then insert their PIN-protected card into the slot machine, apply those funds to their game play, and cash out to their secure digital wallet at any time. They can also choose to move a portion of their funds from the slot machine to their digital wallet while printing a ticket at the slot machine for the balance.

The carded cashless module is one of three variations available as part of IGT’s Resort Wallet solution, the industry’s only fully integrated, turnkey cashless technology:

  • A variation of the Resort Wallet solution includes cardless cashless, where players tap their smartphone on a slot machine or table game to card in. They can then access their Cashless Wagering Account, load cash into the account from either the casino cashier, kiosk, or slot machine, then transfer funds between slot machines onsite, as well as between a casino’s properties.
  • Cashless with external funding represents the full-service variation of the Resort Wallet solution. It combines Resort Wallet with IGTPay™, IGT’s proven, proprietary external funding gateway. Players access their Cashless Wagering Account from a mobile app, with the flexibility to load their account securely and directly with funds from external sources such as credit and debit cards, bank accounts, and e-Wallets.

In addition to slot play, patrons can seamlessly access the funds in their Resort Wallet Cashless Wagering Account for table gaming, sports betting, and at retail points-of-sale.

All Resort Wallet modules encourage social distancing on the gaming floor by reducing line-ups at the casino cash desk and kiosks, and generate greater operational efficiencies by reducing cash handling costs and associated safety and security risks. Cashless play lessens machine maintenance by reducing cash handling, and results in fewer cash handling errors.

In addition, the IGT ADVANTAGE system enables responsible gaming information to be displayed through the Service Window and NexGen® display on the slot machine, as well as through notifications on the Resort Wallet-enabled cashless wagering mobile app.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Aek Udon International Hospital (https://www.aekudon.com), a premier hospital located in Udon Thani, in northeastern Thailand, was recently awarded Global Healthcare Accreditation’s Certification of Conformance with COVID19 Guidelines for Medical Travel Programs.

The Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) Program for Medical Travel Services issued the COVID19 Guidelines earlier this year to assist organizations in the medical and health tourism industries seeking to mitigate the risk of coronavirus infection for both domestic and international traveling patients and their companions. The guidelines are unique in that they focus on the entire care continuum, including interactions with the healthcare organization, hotel, and ground transportation.

According to Dr. Arunee Chatpaitoon, Director of Aek Udon International Hospital, «While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be an ongoing challenge, I am extremely proud of the work our team has done quickly and continuously to keep patients and staff safe by following the internal regulations as well as national and international protocols and guidelines to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 infection for the patients and staff. Achieving GHA’s Certification of Conformance with COVID-19 Guidelines for Medical Travel Programs is a very important step to confirm that the hospital is providing the highest standards of service in medical tourism, and that medical travel patients are receiving top quality care and service along the entire Medical Travel Care Continuum.»

The Certification of Conformance for hospitals and ambulatory centers is a three-year certification with annual reviews, which signals to medical travelers, referrers, and other payers that the organization has implemented the recommendations in the guidelines as a proactive risk mitigation strategy to ensure patient safety and well-being during and post-COVID-19.  Embedded within the Certification process is an online training for staff to familiarize themselves with the Guidelines and Certification process.

According to Karen Timmons, Chief Executive Officer, Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA), «The COVID-19 Certification of Conformance helps increase patient trust in an organization by demonstrating that a medical travel program has implemented operational protocols, practices, and procedures that have undergone an external review and reflect international best practices designed to keep traveling patients safe. We congratulate Aek Udon International Hospital on achieving GHA’s Certification of Conformance and for its strong focus on patient safety and patient experience.»

The Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA) COVID-19 Program for Medical Travel Services Guidelines are free and the Certification of Conformance is a process that is accomplished virtually and within a relatively short period of time.

About GHA

Founded in 2016, the Global Healthcare Accreditation for Medical Travel Services is the only accrediting body focused solely on medical travel services. GHA’s international standards and professional norms for medical travel were developed in consultation with leading global experts in the industry, including providers, insurers and employers committed to establish best practices in medical tourism and health tourism, which support healthcare providers in validating quality and patient experience, increasing visibility, and implementing a sustainable business model for providers along the entire medical travel care continuum. GHA received ISQua’s International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association (IEEA) accreditation in 2019.

Automotive Lightweight Materials Market to Hit $247 Bn by 2026; Global Market Insights, Inc.

SELBYVILLE, Del., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Global Market Insights, Inc. has recently added a new report on the automotive lightweight materials market, which estimates the market valuation for automotive lightweight materials will cross US $247 billion by 2026. Growing concerns to reduce carbon footprints around the globe will positively influence revenue generation.

Steel material is forecast to register a growth rate of over 8.5% CAGR through 2026 as these are still widely used in the production of automotive structures. New automotive structures present in the industry are benefited due to high-strength steel, advanced high-strength steel, and ultra-high-strength steel. The applications of these modern grade steels help in mass reduction by reducing sheet gages and by lowering specific density, thus allowing considerable emission reduction. Growing penetration of electric vehicles in the emerging markets owing to government policies on carbon emission will propel automotive lightweight materials’ market growth during the forecast period.

The powertrain segment is predicted to cross USD 50 billion by 2026. A powertrain holds a significant share in overall vehicle weight and is a prime candidate for the application of lightweight material. Traditionally, engine blocks were made of iron and heavy steel. However, with the increasing use of automotive lightweight materials, aluminum housing has replaced traditional materials.

The extrusion process is likely to witness around a 10% CAGR during 2020 to 2026. The extrusion process aids the manufacturers to assemble metal where it is needed and to introduce features in a single part. This eliminates the need for and assembly of multiple parts composed of alternative materials. Aluminum extraction is more expensive than steel extrusion, however, it imparts a lower weight to the automobile and adds features that are not possible with steel components.

The battery electric vehicles segment will witness significant growth in the automotive lightweight vehicles market size. Growth can be attributed to the growing demand to reduce fuel emissions and follow strict air quality standards, propelling the segment share. Moreover, increasing income levels coupled with a tax exemption for battery electric vehicles will boost the automotive lightweight materials market during the projected time period.

Europe’s automotive lightweight materials market is set to hold more than a 25% share in 2026. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted automobile production across the region. Steady recovery of automobile production in Q1 and Q2 of 2021 will propel the industry growth. The implementation of stringent Euro 6 norms will reduce CO2 emissions along with other pollutants such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide. This will force automakers to be more fuel-efficient. Growing R&D expenditure to develop more efficient automotive lightweight materials will boost the market during the projected time frame.

Some major findings of the automotive lightweight materials market report include:

  • Various governments across the world have introduced strict emission standards and limitations on CO2 & other pollutants from automobiles, thereby propelling the automotive industry growth.

  • Aluminum alloys, such as AA7075 or AA7021, show increased strength in the application of thinner sheets coupled with significant mass reduction. This leads to lower consumption of energy along with increased environmental protection. Aluminum alloys can save up to 50% of the cost as compared to iron and steel while maintaining safety and increasing performance in a cost-effective way.

  • Key manufacturers of the automotive lightweight materials industry are BASF SE, LANXESS Deutschland GmbH, Aleris Corporation, ArcelorMittal, WHB Brasil, AK Steel Corporation, Tata Steel, LyondellBasell Industries Holding B.V., Owens Coming, SGL Carbon, Stratasys Ltd., and POSCO.

Asia Pacific Reigns in 2021 Henley Passport Index as Region Looks Set to Emerge First from Pandemic

LONDON, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The latest results from the Henley Passport Index — the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa — provide fascinating insights into the future of travel freedom in a world transformed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Without taking temporary restrictions into account, Japan continues to hold the number one position, with passport holders able to access 191 destinations visa-free. This marks the third consecutive year that Japan has held the top spot. Asia Pacific (APAC) dominance of the index — which is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) — now seems firmly established. Singapore sits in 2nd position, with access to 190 destinations, and South Korea holds onto 3rd place alongside Germany, with both having a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 189. Slightly further down but still in the top 10, New Zealand is in 7th position, with visa-free access to 185 destinations, while Australia is in 8th position, with access to 184 destinations.

Over the index’s 16-year history, the top spots were traditionally held by EU countries, the UK, or the US, and experts suggest the APAC region’s position of strength will continue as it includes the first countries to begin the process of pandemic recovery.

Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners and the inventor of the passport index concept, says with the US and the UK still facing significant challenges related to the virus, the balance of power is shifting. «Over the past seven years, the US passport has fallen from the number one spot to 7th place, a position it currently shares with the UK. Due to pandemic-related travel constraints, travelers from both countries currently face major restrictions from over 105 countries, with US passport holders able to travel to fewer than 75 destinations, while UK passport holders currently have access to fewer than 70.»

With the first Covid-19 vaccine approved just over a month ago, airline industry experts believe that mandatory vaccination before air travel may soon be a necessity. A technological innovation scheduled to launch in Q1 2021 that will contribute to restoring global mobility is IATA’s Travel Pass initiative — a mobile application that enables travelers to store and manage their verified certifications for Covid-19 tests or vaccines.

Experts suggest that in terms of future global mobility, we cannot expect a return to pre-pandemic patterns. Dr. Parag Khanna, Founder of FutureMap, says nationality alone will no longer suffice to guarantee safe passage. «Even for still-powerful passports, additional protocols will be required to re-attain relatively frictionless mobility. Today’s youth are socially conscious, environmentally aware, and less nationalistic — all of which makes them potentially the most mobile generation in human history. They herald a seminal shift in mobility from being every country for itself to being every person for themself.»

Further key insights and expert analysis are contained in the Global Mobility Report 2021 Q1 released by Henley & Partners today. It includes new research by Deep Knowledge Group, overlaying data from the Covid-19 Risk and Safety Assessment of the economic, social, and health stability of 250 countries and regions with the latest Henley Passport Index results. What emerges is that for developed and developing nations alike, travel freedom is not only the result of a lack of social freedom or poor economic development but also a failure of risk management, health readiness, and monitoring and detection. In other words, global immobility is no longer solely the plight of citizens of less advanced countries.

Perhaps understandably, there were relatively few high-profile visa agreements during 2020. The notable exception was the UAE, which has continued its remarkable upward trajectory on the Henley Passport Index. The country signed a landmark US-brokered agreement establishing formal ties with Israel and granting citizens of each country visa-free access to the other. The UAE now has a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 173 and holds 16th spot on the ranking. This is a stunning ascent when compared to the position it held at the index’s inception in 2006, when the country ranked 62nd, with a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of just 35.

Henley & Partners’ CEO Dr. Juerg Steffen says the volatility driven by Covid-19 has pushed the growing appeal of investment migration into overdrive. «The unprecedented events of 2020 have simultaneously exacerbated push factors such as political and economic instability, and reprioritized pull factors, with stability, safety, and access to quality education and healthcare becoming issues of greater concern than ever before. Alternative citizenship and residency are now a standard consideration for international families and entrepreneurs who are looking to hedge volatility and create long-term value through enhanced global mobility.»

Automotive Aftermarket to Hit $1100 Bn by 2026; Global Market Insights, Inc.

SELBYVILLE, Del., Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Global Market Insights, Inc. has recently added a new report on the automotive aftermarket industry, which estimates the market valuation will cross US $1100 billion by 2026. Increasing vehicle ownership, owing to improving economic conditions, is set to drive the industry’s growth.

The increasing average age of vehicles has led to an increase in the need for maintenance & repair services. The sub-par standard of road infrastructure in some emerging economies, especially in the Asia Pacific, escalates the wear and tear in vehicles, leading to frequent maintenance and repair requirements, driving the automotive aftermarket towards a growth trajectory.

The transformation from conventional means to the digitization of service channels and interfaces is aiding growth opportunities for the sector’s expansion. Modern tools, such as big data and data analytics, allow market participants to store and process vehicle usage data to increase the efficiency of the value chain. The data provides insights on specific vehicle details regarding potential service due date and time spent in workshop per vehicle to increase productivity and effectiveness.

Another emerging trend in the market is remote diagnostics. Remote diagnostics allows for real-time monitoring of parameters of an automobile to evaluate its quality of operations and performance in line with predetermined benchmarks. Additionally, more and more small-scale service providers and shop owners are coming into agreement with largescale fleet operators to procure additional contracts for repair and maintenance and are further anticipated to support the industry expansion.

Increasing stringency regarding vehicle safety in terms of regulation mandated by several countries across the globe is forcing vehicle manufacturers to incorporate new safety technologies & features such as ADAS in vehicles. The adoption of ADAS is expected to reduce road accidents significantly over the forecast timeframe. The rising autonomous vehicle trends are expected to limit the automotive aftermarket growth over the forecast timeframe.

The exhaust segment in automotive aftermarket replacement parts will witness around a 7% CAGR over the projected time frame. The exhaust system in an automobile is exposed to high temperatures as the hot air from a combustion engine exits through it. The component is also subject to replacement from high-end and enthusiast consumers to enhance vehicle outlet acoustics. Major components of the exhaust include engine downpipe, engine manifold, catalytic converter, tailpipe, and muffler.

The OEM factory fill segment will witness around a 4% CAGR in the automotive aftermarket size, owing to existing consumer confidence and trust toward automotive parts offered by OEMs. The advantages offered by these OEM outlets include long-term warranty coverage coupled with quality assurance, manifesting the segment growth. The increasing usage of e-commerce and electronics means from established OEM providers is further expected to enhance market growth.

The average age for on-road vehicles in developed regions, especially Europe, is significantly higher and is increasing from the last decade. The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) states that in 2017, the average age of passenger vehicles in Europe rose 5.71% relative to 2013, resulting in an average age of 11.1 years. With an increase of this aging fleet, the maintenance sector is further expected to drive automotive aftermarket demand.

Some major findings of the automotive aftermarket report include:

  • Increasing sales of pre-owned vehicles.
  • Increasing consumer interest toward e-commerce platforms.
  • Technological innovation to develop vehicle accessories.

Strategic mergers and acquisitions by industry participants will expand regional presence. Major industry players include 3M, Continental AG, BASF, Federal-Mogul Holdings, and ZF Friedrichshafen AG, among others.

BANGALORE, India, Jan. 5, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — City Link Portal Pvt. Ltd., (City Link) a leading tech enabled within city logistics start-up, has taken delivery of its first set of Electric Cargo Vehicles (EV) from Mahindra and Mahindra. City Link understands, that it is the first company in Bangalore to receive the ‘Mahindra Treo-Zor’ vehicles which will help it position itself aggressively in the rapidly expanding ‘Last Mile’ delivery space, under its ‘Think Green. Think EV’ initiative.

«The EV foray is our firm resolve to grow responsibly and continue to bring value to all our customers, vendor partners and drivers,» said Mr. R. Jayakumar (JK), the founder and investor of City Link. He also said, «though we are a start-up; we do not believe in any kind of wasteful BURN, CASH OR FUEL. Our objective is wealth and value creation with equal emphasis on environment protection, and we are committed to passing on a cleaner legacy to gen next.»

City Link planned its ‘Think Green. Think EV’ initiative late last year and has been working with the EV Ecosystem ever since. While the onset of COVID-19 slowed down the progress, it provided just the right opportunity for City Link to learn from vehicle manufacturers, owners, battery manufacturers and potential customers alike. «City Link is convinced that besides being environment friendly, EVs are expected to drive ROI and bring down Delivery costs when compared to existing alternatives. We are looking to add 100-120 EVs in a year’s time towards our Last Mile Push,» says the cofounder and CEO Mr. Puneet Prakash

City Link, has been serving a broad customer base from large Enterprises, to SMEs to individuals for their trucking requirements, through a mix of its Planned Demand and On Demand offerings. Using its Trucking Tech suite QuikMove, it is able to match demand/supply pockets, enhance asset utilization and delivery efficiency, provide real time visibility, optimize route/load carrying and above all, make an erstwhile manual system completely automated and intelligent.

Having commenced with small EVs, City Link shall continue to align with all the EV stakeholders including the govt. to expand its EV service offerings with larger vehicles in the mid-mile and first mile segments. City Link believes that the EV shift in the commercial vehicle space shall be led by smaller vehicles with up to 500 – 550 kg payload capacity. The larger vehicles shall witness a slow transition in about 2-3 years, given the constraints with regards to related infrastructure and battery cost. However, a rapidly evolving ecosystem coupled with a comprehensive govt. policy focus, may bring in this paradigm shift, sooner than later.

About City Link

City Link (www.city-link.co.in ) is a leading start up in the intra-city Logistics space, based out of Bangalore. Extending its offerings to one of its main customer segments, the SMEs, it has recently forayed into On Demand Storage (www.citylinkstorage.in ) and fulfilment where its services range from offering temporary Storage to helping offline merchants move Online using its Storage Tech, Order Management and Fulfilment capabilities.
