BOSTON, Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — To help combat the rise of opioid addiction, Winnebago Industries Specialty Vehicles collaborated with The Kraft Center for Community Health to help build a mobile medical clinic, Community Care in Reach, to better serve at-risk individuals in Boston. Since its deployment in January 2018, Community Care in Reach has made around 10,000 contacts and had nearly 1,400 total patient encounters. Seventy-five percent of Community Care in Reach’s clinical encounters represent follow-up visits by patients. The team has also distributed almost 3,000 overdose-reversing naloxone kits to individuals coping with opioid addiction.

Community Care in Reach was built by Winnebago Industries Specialty Vehicles using their Class C 423S Ford Transit-based platform with personalized modifications. The mobile health unit features a small waiting area, a patient exam room with all the medical equipment necessary to enable the vehicle and staff to act as a licensed satellite clinic.  Health professionals can access medical records and enroll patients in programs, bringing the same sense of formality, organization, and process as a hospital.

«Through mobile outreach, these caregivers can engage people in their environment, provide basic services and help patients begin treatment for their opioid addictions in a trusting environment,» said Ashis Bhattacharya, Vice President – Business Development, Advanced Technology, and Specialty Vehicles at Winnebago Industries. «The results they’ve reported in the last two years speak volumes, and we are looking forward to following their results in the coming years.»

Health systems around the country employ mobile health vehicles like Community Care in Reach to reduce barriers to obtaining life-saving services to people with opioid use disorder (OUD). Working with Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) and the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC), The Kraft Center’s mobile medical unit provides services such as medication for OUD, preventive care, chronic disease management, referrals to in-patient detox, and harm reduction including naloxone distribution, overdose prevention education, risk reduction counseling, and syringe exchange.

«In Massachusetts alone, an average of six people are dying every day from opioid use and overdose. Since most of these deaths occur in populations experiencing homelessness or housing instability, we needed to bring services directly to this population,» said Craig Regis, Program Manager for The Kraft Center for Community Health. «Through our collaborations with Winnebago Industries Specialty Vehicles and the GE Foundation, we have helped a significant number of people in the last two years who are disconnected from healthcare or don’t have the means to travel. We are very grateful for their support.»

Community Care in Reach is a licensed satellite clinic of Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Health professionals access medical records for patient enrollment while engaging the at-risk population in their environment since travel is sometimes impossible for them. Community Care in Reach staff can write prescriptions on the spot and help patients begin treatment for opioid addiction. Focusing on the neighborhoods with high fatal overdoses, the mobile medical unit hosts eight weekly clinic sessions in downtown Boston, Roxbury, and Fenway. Electrically propelled types of machinery provide various advantages, such as high maneuverability, high overall efficiency, and accuracy during operations. The electrification of off-highway vehicles has multiple advantages; however, its adoption in the industry is expected to be slow-paced, owing to various factors, such as the batteries’ limited storage capacity and limited infrastructure for charging vehicles. The shortcoming of the full electric propelled machinery has provided an advantage to the hybrid off-highway vehicle and is considered a viable option. The high cost of developing hybrid off-highway equipment proves to be a constraining factor for the overall market growth. Furthermore, the electrification of powertrains is under the radar owing to the concerns of noise generated and emissions produced by a conventional diesel-powered engine.

The off-highway equipment, including construction, agriculture, and mining equipment being electrified for control of emissions, reliability, and better performance. Many light-duty vehicles, such as small excavators and small wheel loaders, are fully battery electric vehicles in the construction equipment segment, as these types of machines require a smaller battery and less power as compared to large equipment. Many OEMs offer larger wheel excavators and loaders in hybrid electric variants, including Volvo CE, Caterpillar, and Komatsu. In the mining sector, electric machinery usage is prominent to reduce the emission inside the mines. The concept of electrification is also prevalent in the agriculture sector owing to the low cost of ownership, and the equipment can be equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology providing autonomy. In January 2020, Kubota Corp. announced the launch of the X tractor – cross tractor concept in Kyoto City, Japan. The concept tractor is equipped with electrification technology and artificial intelligence (AI) and is also completely autonomous.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The new WORX 20V, 10 in. Orbital Buffer-Polisher quickly and easily puts a professional-looking shine on cars, trucks and vans. The ergonomically designed, go-anywhere buffer/polisher features a comfortable, overmold rubber pommel, front-assist handle that affords optimal control when it comes to detailing.

The 6.8 lb., single-speed, orbital buffer/polisher takes the strain out of polishing and buffing by hand to help achieve professional results. The buffer/polisher is easy to maneuver as it delivers 3000 orbits-per- minute (opm), as it rotates and oscillates simultaneously. Random orbiting helps prevent the user from removing paint or damaging the vehicle. Using an orbital buffer/polisher is a great way to obtain a high gloss finish when waxing vehicles. It’s also equally effective in delivering a shine on boats. RVs, ATVs, snowmobiles and more.

The cordless buffer/polisher eliminates having a power cord in tow, so the operator can easily move around the vehicle without entanglements. At full charge, the buffer/polisher runs up to 45 minutes before it needs recharging.

The orbital buffer/polisher eliminates the hard work of buffing by hand. The 10 in. pad covers a lot of surface area, as it moves from one area to the next. By choosing the right bonnet and wax, the combination helps achieve professional results. When using a rubbing compound, the buffer/polisher is effective in eliminating slight imperfections, including minor scratches and swirl marks.

For best results, first wash the entire vehicle. Strategically place small drops of liquid wax on the bonnet and begin in a small area, moving the buffer in a left to right and an up and down motion. Maintain control by keeping the buffer flush to the surface with minimal pressure allowing the buffer/polisher to do the work. Work in small sections at a time, before advancing to the next area or panel. Once completed, use a micro-fiber cloth to gloss over the finish. Most bonnets are washable and it’s recommended to wash them after every use.

The WORX 20V 10 in. Orbital Buffer/Polisher, WX856L, includes a 20V, 2.0 Ah Max Lithium battery; one-hour charger; elastic application bonnet and polishing bonnet. The Orbital Buffer/Polisher is covered by the WORX three-year limited warranty. The WORX 20V battery is compatible with 35 other WORX DIY and lawn and garden tools for convenience and cost savings.

The WORX 20V, 10 in. Orbital Buffer-Polisher (WX856L, $99.99) is available at worx.com. WORX also offers a bare tool option of the 20V 10 in. Orbital Buffer/Polisher (WX856L.9, $59.99) without the 20V battery and charger at worx.com.

A New Global Mobility Hierarchy Emerges as International Travel Resumes

LONDON, Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — As coronavirus-related travel restrictions begin to lift, the latest research from the Henley Passport Index — based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) — shows that the pandemic has completely upended the seemingly unshakeable global mobility hierarchy that has dominated the last few decades, with more change still to come.

At the beginning of the year, for instance, the US passport was ranked in 6th position on the Henley Passport Index — the original ranking of all the world’s passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa — and Americans could travel hassle-free to 185 destinations around the world. Since then, that number has dropped dramatically by over 100, with US passport holders currently able to access fewer than 75 destinations, with the most popular tourist and business centers notably excluded. As criticism of the country’s pandemic response continues to mount, and with the US presidential election just weeks away, the precipitous decline of US passport power and American travel freedom is seen as a clear indication of its altered status in the eyes of the international community.

Other significant changes in the once-solid global mobility hierarchy paint an equally vivid picture of the chaos caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. At the beginning of 2020, the Singapore passport was ranked 2nd globally, with passport holders able to access an unprecedented 190 destinations globally. However, under the current travel restrictions, Singaporeans can travel to fewer than 80 destinations around the world. Brazilian passport holders were able to access 170 destinations, but currently approximately only 70 are accessible. The decline in mobility and passport power for countries such as India and Russia have been less dramatic, but nevertheless indicative of an overall shift. Russian citizens had access to 119 destinations prior to the Covid-19 outbreak but can currently travel to fewer than 50. At the beginning of the year, Indian passport holders could travel to 61 destinations without a visa, but due to virus-related restrictions they currently have access to fewer than 30.

Decline in Travel Freedom Comparison: January 2020 vs October 2020

Infographic – https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/1309777/Henley_Passport_Index_Infographic.jpg

Without taking the various pandemic-related travel bans and restrictions into account, Japan continues to hold the number one spot on the Henley Passport Index, with a visa-free/visa-on-arrival score of 191. Singapore remains in 2nd place, with a score of 190, while Germany and South Korea are tied 3rd, each with a score of 189. EU member states continue to perform best overall, with countries from the bloc taking up most of the spots in the index’s top 10.

Dr. Christian H. Kaelin, Chairman of Henley & Partners and inventor of the passport index concept, says travel freedom is something citizens of wealthy democratic countries such the UK, the US, and Western European nations have taken for granted for decades. «The pandemic has abruptly changed this, and there’s been a shift away from travel freedom being regarded as the prerogative of nationals with once-powerful passports, towards a realization that it is now a necessary luxury for those wishing to access first-class education, business opportunities, and quality healthcare for themselves and their families.»

Dr. Parag Khanna, founder of FutureMap, says that increasingly restrictive migration policies have also encouraged many people to seek out a Plan B. «Even prior to the pandemic, Brexit had pushed British professionals to seek German, French, Spanish, and other EU nationalities based on lineage, or to pursue residency leading to citizenship in countries such as Portugal. Americans have availed themselves of similar options in countries ranging from Canada to Malta. Recent estimates suggest that interest in investment migration programs has jumped five-fold from 2019 through mid-2020.»

Dr. Juerg Steffen, CEO of Henley & Partners, says there is no question that the volatility of 2020 has boosted the appeal. «We’ve seen unprecedented interest from citizens of developed economies, particularly Americans with a startling 238% increase in enquiries from between January and October compared to the same period in 2019. Alternative residence or citizenship is increasingly seen as an indispensable asset and a vital hedge against ongoing volatility.»

Penetron Waterproofs the Newest Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Russia

EAST SETAUKET, N.Y., Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — The newest Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Rostov-on-Don, Russia welcomed their first guests in October 2020. PENETRON ADMIX was used to ensure permanent waterproofing of the hotel’s below-grade concrete structures.

Located on the Don River only 30 miles (50 km) from the Sea of Azov, Rostov-on-Don is the administrative center of the Rostov oblast in southwestern Russia. With a population of just over 1 million people, the city is an important manufacturing center and key maritime port for Russia.

«Because the Courtyard Marriott Hotel is walking distance from the Rostov Arena, this project was initially scheduled to open in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup,» explains Igor Chernogolov, President of Penetron Russia. «However, the hotel’s design plans changed, and the start of construction was delayed.»

Building with High Groundwater
The Courtyard Marriott Hotels, part of Marriott International, are a mid-priced range of hotels primarily targeting business travelers but also accommodating leisure travelers and families. The Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Rostov-on-Don offers 198 rooms, a bistro restaurant and bar, a swimming pool, and fitness center. As of last month, there were 1,254 Courtyard Marriott Hotels worldwide, with over 250 more hotels in the pipeline.

The construction site is located between the southern banks of the Don River and the Grebnoy Canal. The contractor asked Penetron Russia for an effective solution to counter the high groundwater levels.

«The Courtyard Marriott team reached out to Penetron thanks to our successful track record with many other hotel projects across the country,» adds Igor Chernogolov. «We’ve completed a number of projects over the past few years for Hyatt, Radisson, Hilton and other hotel owners.»

Achieving Permanent Protection for Concrete
PENETRON ADMIX was added to the concrete mix during the batching phase. The treated concrete was used to waterproof all the hotel’s below-grade structures, including the foundation slab, retaining walls, and the underground parking garage.

The active ingredients in PENETRON ADMIX react to moisture to form an insoluble crystal network deep within the concrete matrix. As an integral part of the concrete matrix, it provides permanent protection against deterioration caused by water penetration and the resulting corrosion of the reinforcement steel bars.

«The Courtyard Marriott Hotel infrastructure is surrounded by hydrostatic pressure generated by both the Don River and the nearby canal,» adds Igor Chernogolov. «PENETRON ADMIX was the optimal solution to ensure the concrete remains impermeable – providing permanent protection against water penetration.»

The Penetron Group is a leading manufacturer of specialty construction products for concrete waterproofing, concrete repairs and floor preparation systems. HÖRSCHING, Austria, Oct. 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — While COVID-19 is still impacting tourism, the private jet company GlobeAir is filling the gap left by airliners which are expected to operate only 40% (EUROcontrol) of their usual number of flights by January 2021. The Austrian airline is pioneering the integration of preferred routes including Linz-Frankfurt, GenevaParis and MunichHamburg into the Global Distribution System (GDS), powered by World Ticket (WT). Read more at www.globeair.com/n/gds

To help travellers during the COVID-19 crisis, GlobeAir will be offering flights under the IATA airline code «W2» on more than 550,000 travel providers worldwide including Skyscanner, Expedia and Opodo.

Private jet charters are the most reliable way to get to one’s destination thanks to designated terminals, no crowds, biosecurity, and separate security stations. If flying commercial exposes travellers to over 700 touchpoints, private jets can reduce them to 20, lowering chances of infection by 97%.

«By making our flight services available via the GDS system, we are reaching a broader target group worldwide, thus providing an alternative for in-demand European routes.»
Bernhard Fragner, CEO GlobeAir.

Around seven out of ten airline tickets are sold via GDS worldwide with Amadeus, Sabre, Worldspan and Galileo amongst the most famous affiliates. GlobeAir will take advantage of a centralised booking system which makes it easier to tap multiple channels at once without bearing any IT hassle.

«We are delighted to be distributing GlobeAir flights through all GDS providers during such a challenging time for aviation.»
Lasse Meilsoe, Group CEO at WTS.

GlobeAir’s augmented bandwidth will allow the company to help travellers and make them discover the benefits of business aviation.
